50 runecraft is barely 100k experience. I've gotten three times that in a day. I wouldn't say they really nerfed the skill...

And, double astrals are quite good as well.

but ppl train it to 50 and stop. that's just a waste. if u look at most of the rc goal stat bars, the majority of them say "50 rc"

You trained slayer to 45 and stopped, I find that more of a waste then runecrafting. You know what the goals of runecrafting are? 50 for large pouch, 75 for huge, 91 for natures and 99 for cape. Those are set FAR to wide considering the leveling speed of runecrafting.

Personally, I find it a waste if I only do a boring skill to get a lot of cash from it. If I want to make cash I'll kill monsters, battle fierce opponents and reap the rewards. I want to have fun along the way too.

You know, I would kill for a runecrafting level of 75. But I'm sure I'll never get it that high. Does this classify me as lazy? Ofcourse not, it classifies me as one of the million other people who hate the constant grind of RC.

lol one of the biggest pvp updates of the year, and tip it is discussing granite

Why do you want people to see Runecrafting the same way you do? If people want to work on a skill for a specific goal, or think a skill is the worst in the world, why do you care. What other people think of Runecrafting doesn't effect you at all. If they think it is boring, it doesn't affect you. I really don't see what your problem is. People leveling up a skill to a certain point annoys you, and because they view Runecrafting in a different way.

Runecrafting is one of the best money-making skills in both F2P and P2P. Yes, it's very slow to train and there's no fun in leveling it but one you have a decent level it pays off!

I love how nobody bothered to train RC before, and now that the new guild has a requirement that only 250k players had prior to its release everyone is rushing to get in. I made out like a bandit on this update.

Dragon, it *was* a great money making skill. Ess prices have risen, and rune prices have fallen a lot after the release of the guild, due to people wanting to get 50rc just to get in the guild.

We all know that since the RC Guild came out, everyone has been going for 50 RC just to get in and play the minigame. But what they don't see is the actual use of RC. It's not meant to be leveled just for a minigame. It's meant to be used to make money. I bring this up because I am 92 Combat and have an RC level in the roughly top 65K highscores, and I often see 110+s with only 50 RC just to play the minigame. I've also seen high levels with an RC goal of 50. If all you're leveling up for is to play a minigame, you shouldn't even be training the skill in the first place. I'm not sure where this goes, but feel free to discuss. My point is that JagEx nerfed RC as a skill and made it into a requirement for a minigame.

Actually, you kinda contradicted yourself. How have they nerfed RC exactly? The way I see it they actually encouraged MORE people to RC to level 50 (even if it is only up until that point). Like someone already said, 50 RC is a requirement for Quest Cape, so for a start people levelling for the minigame can also be ready for that path.

Also, some people might get to level 50 RC and think 'Hmm... while I'm at it I'll train until I can craft Laws' and so on. If Jagex only convinces one person to keep training RC, then they have succeeded tbh because it is such a grind to RC.

It's meant to be used to make money.

Incorrect.

It's meant to be used to make Runes, if we're going to be nitty about the skill.

I have no intrest in helping "keyers" farm xp.

Why do you care how other people train runecrafting, it doesn't affect how you yourself trains.

The reason most people seem to be getting it up to 50 is so they can get rid of all those darn tiaras and talismans clutterring up thier bank and replace them with just one item. The reason you don't find many people with what would be considered a decent level of Runecrafting is that for some reason people find it very boring and very slow xp, and would rather have fun than bore themselves to death making money. I only got the RC level I have now because I was short of money for a while and decided I should probably get around to leveling RC, and for the hours it took me and the money I got, level 66 is, compared to all other skills, very low.

TBH, i don't RC any more because I can make faster money other ways without the effort, Plus rc is hardly as profitable as the good old days, I don't think i will get much above lvl 65 ever.

If everyone had your attitude discussion topics would cease to exist.

And on another note, the RC mini-game is quite fun, and it has good rewards. The altar tele tabs save a lot of time, the omni staff (which is basically a talisman on a stick, hehe) is better than a tiara (I always hated tiaras) and saves bank space, but above all it provides you with cheap ess. Does ess cost too much nowadays? Then just exchange tokens for ess, and when you no longer need any more ess yourself just sell it and enjoy the easy money!

Agreed, a lot of people wanted to get that Omni talisman and free up quite a few spaces. I do, and that's why I'm training for level 50 anyway. The money will come later when PvP worlds arrive and I can sell the runes.

This is a bad time to be levelling up the skill for money, but this is a good time to be levelling up the skill for the guild.

Its pretty obvious why high levels are aiming for 50 RC. The Rewards from the minigame.

A new staff that is a beast when it comes to tanking in F2P.

New robes that are already being favoured over druid by some F2P warrers purely because of the stats (Yes druidic has the set effect - but sometimes you don't have time to go full hybrid).

I thought that was pretty obvious..

Why not go for 54... because they only need 50. :wall:

I don't really care what level other people train their Runecrafting level to ::' I am pleased with my 99 because it is soo profitable

Lets face it. The point of most skills is to either get another 99, do a quest, get an item, or do something that you think is fun.

I was planning on getting only 50 Rc then stopping, but I saw that I cold make nats and 4 more levels to make laws and I liked it more "I just need the pure ess to level up  ". But thats the way quite a few skills are. YOu do it for your own reasons

Snowball997.png

Ok... Im not that good. But I have an anchor!!!

RC has been a sucky cash maker for months. If anything, RC Guild encouraged people to level a slow and unrewarding skill.

300k in less than an hour isn't all that bad...

Dr_Brinner.png

IMO rc is one of the worst skill in the game :/ every rc thinks that you can makes millions fast but it's almost no money if you don't have 91 rc. I think that slayer is waaaaay better money then rc and if people just want to get 50 rc for the minigame it's ok

ib7rVm.png

Personally, I see nothing wrong with training a certain skill purely for a minigame. People may choose to make money however they please, just because you prefer to RC for cash, doesn't mean we all do. I got 50 RC before the mini-game was released and wasn't very pleased with how much profit I made for the time I put in - I much prefer Hunter ;)

Depends on the type of rune you are crafting, most still cling to natures, even though the profit of those has drastically been lowered. Its the same for people who still rune mine for cash at rune rocks.

I always found runecrafting more of an agility with cash rewards. Pretty much everyone hates agility, yet runecrafting is nearly the same, and people love it.

i got mine to 50 for both this new mini game and i wanted ALL my skills to be ver 50. it mearly gave me that motivation (besides it was 48 to begin with). plus nats and laws are at an all time low so im not crafting them until they rise again.

You can't get that anymore without double nats. With pure ess so high, it's closer to 150k per hour. I can get far more than that killing dragons or aviansie.

Asking why people train up to 50 rc just for the minigame is the same as asking why people bother getting 99s that will not allow you to produce higher level items, do not improve your combat, do not provide you good cash, or allow you to obtain certain resources faster (eh heh...*points to her sig*). Everyone has their own personal goals that they dream of achieving. Its not a waste to satisfy such dreams in my opinion. The guild gave many people (such as me) the extra nudge to have the desire to level up rc just a wee bit and be satisfied with the results (being able to enter a guild and play a somewhat entertaining minigame). I have yet to see a problem with any of that.

Thanks for the great memories folks :).

The new guild and the death of pking has reduced nature rune prices hugely, while the death of autoers and gold sellers means that the prices of pure ess has shot up.

(Some PKers used to train mage by alching and the new guild made crafting natures easier and autoers used to mine lots of pure ess for their money)

This means that the only really profitable thing to do before 91rc now is death runes and you need a hard quest to do that. Profit through Runecrafting has suffered greatly due to this.
