We all know that since the RC Guild came out, everyone has been going for 50 RC just to get in and play the minigame. But what they don't see is the actual use of RC. It's not meant to be leveled just for a minigame. It's meant to be used to make money. I bring this up because I am 92 Combat and have an RC level in the roughly top 65K highscores, and I often see 110+s with only 50 RC just to play the minigame. I've also seen high levels with an RC goal of 50. If all you're leveling up for is to play a minigame, you shouldn't even be training the skill in the firat place. I'm not sure where this goes, but feel free to discuss. My point is that JagEx nerfed RC as a skill and made it into a requirement for a minigame.

its not like people only get it up just to play the game, its a great money maker and a pretty interesting skill.

The minigame can be an easy way to make money, with pure essence only 1 token each, noted, and with a possiblity of about 1000 tokens per game I believe, you can max at 100k per game... 400k per hour, with almost no work, a profit from natures made in-game, and runecrafting exp.

Well JaGeX made it so you need 30 combat or so to play pest control, does that mean they nerfed combat levels? No. Big whoop if you need a certain level to play a minigame, doesn't mean they nerfed it. Nothing changed much. Look at quests, you need skill requirments for those.

 

 

 

But yea, I think people don't see the usefullness of RC, thinking it's boring and takes forever, but I don't think it does if you do it right.

If people are dumb and stroll on by, that's totally their own fault. I'd say dont worry about it, its not going to affect you if theres people who only want 50 RC, your high score wont be hurt, your profits wont fall, you wont have a new breed of RC noobs that will bother you...

 

 

 

Honestly i dont see a problem with any of it.

I think runecrafting is the most boring skill ever. I got it to 60 only becuase I didnt want anything lower than that.

What's wrong with 50 runecrafting?

 

 

 

1. Runecrafting Guild offers good things, including a reasonably entertaining minigame, the omni talisman, and runecrafting teletabs, which among other things are a great way to switch to Lunars.

 

2. Large pouch requires level 50. An extra 9 ess per trip!

 

3. It's the minimum level you need for a quest cape thanks to Devious Minds.

 

 

 

It's actually a pretty smart place to set your goal, although I do agree that 54 is better--laws are great to craft.

 

 

 

Oh and laws at 291 are probably because of the increased supply created by the new interest in runecrafting since the guild's release.

When I saw this thread, I thought it would be about all the people complaining about low rune prices, and that runecrafting was made to increase the amount of runes in the game, bringing prices down.

 

 

 

So you're saying that you think people see the minigame as the only reason to train? I can see that happening, but I havn't actually seen it myself. And I think that in no way Jagex has "nerfed" runecrafting. They gave people a reason to train in. That's not a nerf in my eyes.

Its true, but I guess its just because people want to try the new minigame (specifically F2P'ers I would bet since they don't get mini-games).

 

 

 

Currently the prices of runes have dropped dramatically (Nats used to be 300gp each, went down to 235pg each or so, etc..), but I get like 340gp each from each pure essence I use.

I went and got 50 runecrafting from 44 just a few days before the runecrafting guild, not because of the guild, but because I was working on getting all stats 50+ (which id be at if it wasn't for summoning). One of these days I'll get my RCing up more, but I do think it is one of the most boring skills in the game.

I thought the point of runecrafting was to provide a way for mages to get runes w/o buying them maybe im mistaken tho :shock:

No...the real point of RC was meant to give players a 'free' source of runes, without having to rely on monster drops or stores. Besides, if all they want to do is play that minigame with 50 RC, what's wrong with that? To be frank, it's the exact same goal-setting as someone that wants a pure, or wants to get 92 FM for that minigame, or get 85 Fletching for Magic Longbows.

right on the money. its their choice let em do it! i think its ok for them to do it too. rc might not be an interesting skill but at least they r willing to boost their rc level to try the minigame which could make it more fun for them.

I think jagex release the rc mini game for f2pers, not for p2p.

 

 

 

C'mon rc at f2p is boring they give something for make them get 50 rc.

I hate runecrafting

 

It is my lowest skill

 

It is the slowest skill to train

 

I can make money faster in other ways

 

 

 

There is no reason for me to train it.

 

However, I did powerlevel my way to 62 before the minigame (which I played once, realized it didn't provide a faster method of runecrafting in the long run, and left) just for the total levels.

RC has been a sucky cash maker for months. If anything, RC Guild encouraged people to level a slow and unrewarding skill.

Uh, maybe people want to play the minigame because it's enjoyable. Also, runecrafting isn't really that great for money...

Wow, look on the bright side of things... the RC Guild FORCED people to level up their RC.

 

 

 

Leveling up to 50 just because you want to is the same as leveling up to 50 for the Guild requirements. You're still getting to the same spot. Whether people continue to level it is up to them.
