You know, I can see where they're trying to make a point though in that we humans wouldn't want to be hooked to machines to be milked, and that they feel that cows feel the same way. It just seems absurd. I mean think about it, human breast milk has the potential to pass on diseases and whatnot, and it's hard to control that. It'll take a lot of selective hiring and testing to make sure that all females pass the inspections before being milked. For all we know this could lead to a cry of foul from women with smaller breasts because maybe employers would feel that women with larger breasts can produce more milk (if people actually go along with the idea, and for the record, larger breasts does not mean more milk). It just goes on and on from there...

It's not so much this is a ridiculous suggestion to make, it's just plainly illogical too.

 

 

 

If the rationale is that animals should be treat ethically (re: equally) to humans, then why bother having ice cream at all? If they're gonna condemn us for using a cow's milk, then they should logically also condemn us for drinking human milk, because what they're really arguing is that gaining milk from anything is wrong since it involves a degree of "suffering", so we should just ban all dairy products.

 

 

 

That's right, it's PETA - putting the emotional wellbeing of a cow before the nutritional wellbeing of a human baby.

 

 

 

On PETA as a whole, I like it when they try and send me on a guilt trip with their T-shirts. They make you think "Would you really kill a pig?" with some soppy picture, and I think, "Err... yeah. It's bacon!".

Of course you would kill a pig. I don't think I'd ever say no to a weekend pigging. If only PETA knew that some wild boars are a reason why many baby turtles don't make it to the ocean because they come in and eat all the eggs. But yeh, sorry, save a cow. Save the main thing that apparently contributes to global warming.

I was thinking of something similar, only problem is I don't think that TET could arrange an opinion (To be politically correct, it is an opinion :|) based event.

depending on the female it came from, i would try it at least. i don't want that to sound creepy or anything, but i'd much rather eat breast milk ice cream from someone i knew that someone i don't.
