October 5, 200817 yr I was mugged in a park once, while I was on my way to my friends house for the first time. When I got to his house a couple of my friends were already there and they saw that I was roughed up, and since they're pretty non-violent people I was extremely surprised at was I saw. My friend got his dad's golf clubs and someone got out two baseball bats, and we all (8 of us) piled into his van and went mugger-hunting. Normally i'd be against this, and even typing this now I think we were really stupid. But anyways, the morons were still hanging out in the park, and we un-mugged all my things. Luckily nothing got too out of hand, but it did get pretty rough. Sadly stuff like that sticks to you, and i'm always paranoid when I cross parks late at night. I was planning on learning how to fight really well, but when I realized that being able to fight like Jet-Li took a lot of effort, I dropped the idea :lol: :thumbdown:

Your idea would be good if we didn't have a legal system in place. Not true. Due to so-called "stand your ground" and "castle doctrine" laws on the books in all 50 states, if someone threatens you with a deadly weapon, you are completely within the law to use deadly force to stop them, be that by shooting them, stabbing them or otherwise beating the crap out of them. These laws have very few exceptions. As for carrying a concealed weapon, after a short safety class and some paperwork you can get a license to carry a gun or knife in 48 states, the two exceptions being Illinois and Minnesota if I remember right. carry a gun around not a bad Idea. OP, if you are either 21 or 18 (depending on your state) and the neighborhood is really that bad, perhaps you should apply for a concealed gun permit. That is a terrible attitude. :notalk: You don't resist issues like this by just taking the law into your own hands. Especially in the States (but in growing amounts in UK too), street thugs are even willing to murder a person for ridiculous things like an MP3 player or even a store clerk for $80 bucks.
