For me, as of late, it has been the non-stop political debates at the fishing spot in Catherby. Those will obviously end tonight, but what are things that make you turn off public chat?? :D Discuss.

Ill answer your thread question thou, i turn public chat on when im at a busy place and am lagging or if there are some immature people around me talking about some form or rubbish...

I play with public on friends permanently, I only ever talk with people through clan chat/private or when I meet someone I know.

I usually only turn it off in really busy areas like if I go to the G.E on World 2.

MY chat has always been set to friends ever since i started members. I got sick of being insulted about my levels etc. Quite frankly i'm not a very social person in the game anymore. However i do meet people in the clan chats etc, but thats it.

 

 

 

So if i don't answer in game it's not being snobby or anything. My chat is just set to friends.

i always keep it on. i never had a reason to turn it off. if there is too much spam or noobs talking then i just click on clans where i can look at wat my clan chat peeps r saying

My public chat is always on. I don't know why I should turn it off. If there are annoying people then I ignore them or just don't read what they are saying. I don't want to miss something if a person I know wants to talk to me - I can't add everyone you know?

I can't multitask, but occasionally its nice to have on. However, when I get bombarded by 1337 speak I usually turn my chats off.

My public chat is always on hide, so I can still see what people are saying, but dont have endless spam in congested areas such as the GE :) . Ironicly, this causes me to +ignore most pmods, so they dont get through my hidden chat. :roll:

The only times I have my pub chat off are when I'm either heavily lagged by my location, or someone is being a real pain-in-the-[bleep] on my nerves. Other than that, I'm usually listening around me for that next chance to put a market price back in the right place. :thumbsup:

Its always on hide pretty much. All the text that goes through my chat box at the ge makes my head hurt.

 

 

 

My trade only goes off when people are being really irritating.

I always keep my public chat ON but quite often click to Clanchat so I don't have public chat blocking off what my friends are saying. Being a slayer I don't often hang out with my friends, we just talk on clanchat, and if I am with them It's DKing or GWDing where there is very little public chat interupting us anyway.

I keep my Public on. If anyone annoys me I can just ignore them.

I very rarely talk to people in game either. On average less than 5 lines per hour.

 

 

 

The only time i ever respond is when people praise me (not so much anymore, but i completed desert treasure the day after it came out so i had alot of attention because of my staff : ) - i staked a bit but don't like to see people upset ingame as i know what it feels like to lose alot of money. So yeh i'm abit of a loser cos i never really took advantage of my skillz.

Wow, this I'm surprised by how many people keep their chat on friends, off, or on hide. I almost always have it ON, unless of course I'm in a place like the GE. Although I frequently switch to Clan Chat only instead, so I suppose I'm usually on the equivalent of hide?
