What is Runescape for?

Is it for fun or bragging? Some people seem to think that having 99 firemaking is more important than having fun with the game. Honestly do they have fun burning 1mil+ logs? It is nice to have a goal acheved but where does it end?

I personaly enjoy in any random way. Somtimes I feel like skilling and somtimes I feel like makeing cake and throwing a just cause' party for my friends. It all depends on my mood.

Anser these to make your post on topic:

1.What do you do on the game?

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun?

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape?

In fact, I do have some pancake mix.

Runescape should be about fun, whether that means that you have your sights set on the most powerful/most money/highest level or (like me) you don't want to pay for a game to just chill out and gather some resources to kill time. I have fun playing by myself, occasionally talking to one of my friends who might come online. I'm in no rush to get another Santa Hat, this game is no competition to me.

It all comes down to having fun. Cause if you're not having fun playing a video game... Then what are you doing?

I can't remember the time when this game truely was fun to me. Nowadays I just play to talk with friends or to have a high total or expensive armour/weapons. Runescape has become a part of my life and I'm just not able to really quit.

For me it's a lot about the skills. I love getting a skill level, especially if it's a high level. :)

To me, thats what makes the game fun. I don't hardcore skill constantly to get max xp per hour or anything, but i spend very little time standing around doing nothing.

1.What do you do on the game: i fish, woodcut for a few bucks here and there, i train my combat skills, i come on to chat, talk to my rs buddies that can just keep me entertained there in itself.

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun: i like to have fun, mess around, chat.. and i believe that the high skills has a certain competitive aspect in adding to the fun, yes i believe it can get out of hand.. (omg your only lvl 76 fish ur a nooooob) just learn to ignore that part of it.

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape: earlier joking around with my buddies in a f2p world following my cc group in a 6-7 person train about to watch a cc buddy get 99 wc..

1.What do you do on the game?

I do set goals for myself and achieve them. It's satisfying watching my character get stronger.

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun?

Well, to me, getting high skills is fun.

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape?

Right now of course. :D

All in all, I agree with Inuashakent. We all have different styles of playing and what we consider fun as, but just because you do things the efficient way it doesn't necessarily mean that you're doing them the non-fun way.

What do you do on the game?

The average day for me can only be described as "random!" I don't usually set goals for myself, unless I need to get required stats for a quest I want to do. Otherwise, I just do things as they come to me. If I get the urge to work on Farming, I'll go farm for a while. It could be two minutes later, or two hours later, but I may suddenly get the urge to go work on another skill. I'll drop what I'm doing, and run off to work on that skill.

I've never really understood how people are able to work on one skill for days on end. To me, this would make the game horribly boring for me! I don't care if I reallllly want 99 in a skill: I am not going to stand in one spot for two weeks. I would quit the game out of boredom!

What do you find more important: high skills or fun?

FUN! To me, the whole point of any game, online or not, is to have fun. I simply enjoy walking around in the game, taking in the sites. I've always been this way, especially with Runescape.

One of my in-game friends seems to think that I'm crazy for being this way... he thinks that money and high skills need to be important factors to me. Honestly, I could log onto the game, find all of my money gone, and not really care all that much. Yes, it would be annoying to lose it all, but honestly... it's just money. I have more fun randomly deciding to make an inventory of Garden pies, or walking out to the Wilderness, intending on training on Green dragons, and suddenly changing my mind, and walking all the way back to Varrock!

I really don't care if I have high skills or not. I'll admit it: my highest skill is 74. Wow. Not that high. But I really don't care! I have fun in the game, and that's all that matters to me.

When was the last time you had fun on Runescape?

I generally have fun every time I play! Sure, I might get bored on the odd occassion, but I always end up finding something to do.

As of late, though, I've been having a wicked fun time playing Stealing Creation! I just recently was introduced to Pest Control - and then SC came out, and my mind was blown away! If you had to classify me, I'm most definently a skiller - this mini-game, even with all of the bugs, is amazing fun! I spent three straight days playing it after it came out.

1.What do you do on the game?

Whatever I feel like doing.

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun?

Fun.

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape? My answer to this is usually the last time I logged in or the second-to-last time I logged in. When RS stops being fun, I stop playing. When a cool new update comes out, I check it out.

1.What do you do on the game? I logg in to check my Kingdom or do the odd quest; unless there's someone online I want to talk to, that's it. I enjoy talking to people more on the Internet, as I can't be intimidated, I don't have to worry about whether I sound rude or whatever so much (I find this difficult sometimes), and I can talk without some idiot who I hang around with in real life (not sure why) ruining the conversation by acting like an eight year old.

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun? Definately fun. I realy don't care about skills anymore, and I don't even enjoy playing most of the time.

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape? The last time I logged on and talked to ny freind, about three days ago.

1.What do you do on the game? - explore the world, play the quests, and generally just see what's around

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun? - fun, pure and simple. no point in playing a game unless you enjoy it

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape? - this morning, had a nice chat with some folks whilst fishing. Nothing major, just silly banter. Still worth the time though

1.What do you do on the game? - I do the daily chores, then usually skill/quest and do "fun stuff" at a 2-3:1 ratio, trying to combine the two as often as possible.

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun? - High skills. If I want only fun, I'll play Unreal Tournament or some other game. That doesn't mean I don't strive to have fun.

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape? - Last time I logged on.

Runescape is a game, and as with all games it is meant to have fun, however fun is a relative term, it isn't the same for everyone. That you don't consider burning logs for hours fun doesn't mean someone else doesn't (I do for example). Now for the questions:

What do you do on the game?

I mostly skill, I set goals for myself and then I achieve them, that's what I find fun in Runescape, telling to myself to get to x level on x skill and doing it. I prefer active skills, the ones that require your full attention, like mining, firemaking and runecrafting and hate skills like fishing that you have to sit down and wait.

What do you find more important, high skills or fun?

To me getting a high skill is fun, to know that your hard work training to get a level pays off is a large part of the fun I get from runescape, the other being pking. If your are going to ask how does firemaking for hours pays off for me knowing that I achieved a goal I set for myself is all I need. Besides you can't do all that much in the game with low skills.

What was the last time you had fun on Runescape.

I have fun every time I play. When that stops I usually take a couple months break from Runescape, play Guild Wars or some other game and when I stop having fun playing those games I come back to Runescape.

Oh and you asked if Runescape is for fun or bragging, but, isn't bragging fun? ;)

1.What do you do on the game? Play mini games and talk in clan chats.

2.What do you find more important, high skills or fun? You have to admit having high skills allows you to things thatare a lot more fun, so I get high skills to have fun.

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape? When stealing creation was released, however the initial thril wore off after I realised I could buy 2 of every reward :wall:

3.When was the last time you had fun on runescape?

It's quite a shame for me to say this but I haven't had "fun" on Runescape since my first year playing. (where I was F2P) I have 2 friends of whom I can remember from way way back in those days, both I met in the Mining guild. (Avindiha and Chooo12) They have since then quit playing but now thinking back on it, I have no idea WHY I play this game.. yet I still come back to it.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

  • 2 weeks later...

in game i usually do my goal that im currently working on at the time right now - killing waterfiends to get charms

having high skills is more important and it is usually fun to work on the skills id have more 99s if i stuck to every single goal id ever set for myself but most of them i do get in the long run :)

last time i had fun on rs was last time i logged in i usually have fun :)
