So I've been alternating both games during my subscription and I have to say, RSC trumps RS2.

 

 

 

Over the years Rs2 has become very presentable and lots of new features are in effect, but it feels so bloated and I dont feel like a part of the community, I just feel like another number, another guy gettin his stats up, I feel like im wastin time playin a MMO-singleplayer game (although I still play)

 

 

 

RSC I alternate combat and fishing, I love fishing on both RS's but RS2 feels like i'm doing it just for the money. There's no middle man like on RSC. I have 2 buyers for my stuff already and I've been playing not very long, it's almost like a mini-mutual-friendship just to buy lobby certs.

 

 

 

Everyone is part of the community in some way or the other.

 

 

 

Infact just now i made a sale with a buyer, we exchange formalities, cash in hand, off we go. both richier (money wise and food wise)

 

 

 

 

 

RS2 I feel like im just doing the same thing ,but without all the lil nice things inbetween, I dont feel like im benefitting everyone. Being a fish monger in RSC is so much more rewarding..........end mindless thought

I'd say it's only like that, because players like me moved on to RS2. Back when I played RSC there was a lot of people (making me feel like a number). But anyhow, I think if RS2 never came out your beloved RSC would be very over populated as well.

Whenever I log onto an RSC world it's like a ghost town.

I didn't play RSC for very long, maybe 5 or 6 months. However, I can see where you're coming from and often have quite a nostalgic feeling when reflecting on my short time on RSC.

 

 

 

I remember the simplicity, yet daring adventure. The fast combat style, and small yet friendly community.

 

 

 

RS2 is still amazing, and I still love it. The modern world has prevailed, and this is showing in RS2. The changes reflect those of real-life, and are moving just as fast. :)

RSC was all about people not being mere numbers. Skills were much harder to level up, and having 99 in a skill was very rare, and a huge achievement. Leveling up was integral part of the game, but not an ends in itself. Many players were recognized for being a positive part of the community. RS2 came and made everything easier to obtain, now if you get a 99, you're just number xxxxx. RS2 players give a huge importance to leveling up as the only thing that matters. If you want to stick out, you need to basically sell your soul to this game. Niceness, or integrity is not recognized anymore at all.

Um, there was a lot of people then, relatively. World was much smaller, and there wasn't as many worlds. Remember when we only had one world? I used to put in the log in info, place a shotglass on the enter button, walk away, come back half an hour later, and it would still be trying to log me in...There was a ton of people on Classic.

That's because RSC has a much smaller population, so the individual stands out more. It would be nice if Jagex focused on individual achievements again, but I'm worried that that may have become impossible.

My advice is to find a group of good friends to talk to regularly. I know what you mean about being just another player but if you find your niche in a small group where everyone knows everyone, the game becomes a lot more enjoyable. This is what worked for me when I joined the clan I am currently in, became part of a smaller community rather than being a player in a game of 9 million other players

RSC is a much smaller and tighter community than RS2 is. That's why you feel like a much bigger part of RSC, logically enough.

 

I have myself never played RSC, but I know that it is far from what RS2 is. Which is both better and worse in different ways. I think that if I would be able to enter RSC I would think it would be almost scary with no people around, while a RSC player who enters RS2 would find it way to crowdy and, as you do, just a guy like everyone else.

Ive logged into rsc once and after looking at it for 30 seconds, i logged out.

 

 

 

Back then, rsc was open to anyone, i was a f2p in rs2 back then aswell.

 

 

 

Wish i could go on to see what it was like back in the roots of runescape.

Seems pretty clear to me he was talking about rs2.

Last time I logged into RSC I didnt see a single person in either Falador or Varrock

My advice is to find a group of good friends to talk to regularly. I agree RS has become more single-player, especially after 10 Dec. 07.

 

But as Nje said, a clan or a gruop of friends is what you need. I would probably quit RS a long time ago if it wasn't for my clan, it's a psychological fact that people need social contact with other people to enjoy life. (Maslows theory of human needs) :-w

join a clan, make some new freinds, stick with em and have fun

RSC classic is just more personal and I love playing it now. (I got my active RSC account back! :twss: )

I have to agree. Runescape 1 felt like you were a part of it. You could log in and go some place and you could see the same people that were always there. Pking was the same way you had your neutral players that you would see out there and even though they weren't on your friends list you wouldnt attack them and they wouldnt attack you. Then you had those you couldn't stand and disliked Swifty Mcvay tops my list. But we had some good fights he killed me about 3 or 4 times. I only was able to kill him 2 times. Some of the players i didnt like ended up becomming my friend in RS2. Damn now i want to get my old pc working again to look at my old pking pictures.... I have so many happy memories...

rsc, rs2, rs [insert number here]. i dont think it really matters as to what game it was and what content it did have over the other. i believe that its just the community and now the community has changed.

it probably feels that way because the player base for rsc now is next to none, so everybody knows everybody lol. This is why we have places like Tip.it. In world 99 I see lots of familiar faces so I feel like I am part of a community.

RSC makes me feel like Im playing a private server, because its so empty, and takes so much time to get places and do things, starting from nothing.

Well I agree that RS2 has better content, graphics, but RSC has a better 'feel' to it, I guess it's because only few players can still play it and those that do know each other.

 

 

 

It's kinda like walking around with a skillcape or party hat, whenever I see someone else, see someone with a party hat, they become almost like old friends (not all the time), or the same way in like castle wars where only the level 120+ Talk with each other, whether there friends or not.
