Lenticular_J
Because he's thirteen and he said so, obviously  I do think that dress and music can make you different. I like listening to Huayno, an Incan music. But it's actually gaining surprising popularity - people just don't know what it is. I also have bad-[wagon] clothes. I'm getting a ruffled blouse. That's [bleep]ing awesome. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
Sumpta
Would that make you a freak or a narcissist? Sumpta's right. I'm calling BS on teenagers. Well, when you're called weird your whole life, you start to believe it. Well, I'm sorry, but that's rather silly of you. For those among you who seem to think I'm the average person and cannot possibly understand your ways of difference, I've been called different/weird/strange all my life for a specific number of reasons I'm not going to expand on now. That doesn't actually mean that I am that different. To be able to tell if you're different, you have to be able to define yourself. You can define yourself in so many ways, that anybody can prove both things, that he's different or that he's mainstream. We definitely haven't agreed on a definition here, so saying you're different is meaningless to me. Or: saying that you're different, means that you compare yourself to something else. When you compare, you relate and relativate, and in doing that, you destroy the concept of uniqueness (is that a word?). Well, don't know if that's very clear, but no matter. Zierro
To be able to tell if you're different, you have to be able to define yourself. Yeah but from your last post it seemed like you weren't going to accept self-defined nonconformism because you said that it's a normal thing to do to have that mentality. So I brought up the fact that it's not just me who thinks I'm different. I just really strongly believe that there are those people who are like everyone else (mainstream) and those people who aren't. I understand that every single person is unique, but you can't argue that there is nobody who stands out more than the rest.
RayOxide
You have to wear the newest, best clothes. Males have to be chavs, females chavettes. Can have no association with technology in any way. You have to treat anyone who doesn't conform like scum. If you don't treat them like scum, you are scum. "Your mom", and sexual innuendos are the only insults and/or jokes. Intelligence is bad, looking good is everything. Lemme change that and its pretty much correct. Bit late. Might read later when im not drunk on being awake. And for people who call other people weird.. Lol? They just have no other word to use. I dont need a siggy no moar. killerbeer0
Well, we're all a little different on these forums, as I've noticed. But how many of us really want to be different? Not as much as I am. Being different is good but there's a limit that I feel I'm way, way past. OH S***! He/she/it is back!

baalboy5
I guess Im different. I live a normal life, but I only have 1 eye and im half deaf. People at school think I have a lazy eye, but thats because I never told anyone at my new school of my difference. I feels good to have secrets. even though they could be obvious to the trianed eye. Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Nenga
Haven't seen this topic for awhile. Well i'll keep up with the chain of physical differences. You guys know I have three earlobes? I've often wondered how that did come to be but never found an answer... I used to be right handed until I was about 5, been left handed ever since. I'm the only person in my family born with brown hair. Everyone else was born blond and their natural hair color changed when they got older. Even my parents were both like that. Any other differences I can think of? I'm not really racist... Ponies!

Teacher: Uhuh and what do you want to be when you grow up? Me: A Cowboy Astronaut Pimp with a purple octopus as my trusty steed. Teacher: ... Really? You said THAT? If so, Nice one  . Anyways, I like to be different and noticeable, but I don't want to be treated different - that is, inferior. I don't want to be treated as inferior, or rabble, or some form of cheap amusement as so many do treat me. It's hypocritical to say that I want to be different but not treated that way, I understand, but isn't that what most people in an individualist society want? Anyway, I don't do everything for the sake of being different, that's not what many people do. They just do it. For example, I wore my hat upside-down in Primary School. I never did it to stand out. I did it because wearing it the right way up was so damn uncomfortable. I don't get why ANYONE wore theirs the right-way-up (if anyone asked I'd go into a philosophical ramble about "define right-way-up" or say something really sarcastic - now that I think about it - not a good idea). I also talk to myself a lot, it's not because I want people to hear or be known as the "Crazy-guy-who-talks-to-himself" I just did it because it helped me keep myself organised and ready (or as organised as I could ever be). I'm different because it's just how I am - as the answer should be for everyone else. ~"We're all individuals" ~"Except for me" (just thought I'd leave you with a laugh) It's what I do

Housepig
I just follow the philosophy of be yourself and tell others to get [bleeb]ed if they don't like it. My school really isn't all that bad; it's only geeks or outcasts who lack self-confidence who get picked on. I don't give a damn about how I'm supposed to act, so I guess I'll never be incredibly popular, but I don't get picked on and I have a fair number of friends. I used to be different to the point of being obnoxious, so it's not surprising I got picked on. I try not to be arrogant towards conformists now, but it took years before I realised that was my mistake. If absolute power corrupts absolutely, where does that leave God? Racheya
Sometimes I like to think I'm different tbh. I'm different in the sense that I conform to a minority group (internet obsessed no-lifers like me) rather than a majority group (humanity). I don't have the courage to be completely different or stand out. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator]. Jernlov
I'm not that different. I fit in amongst people and I can have fun. Will H
I often try to find for myself whether I need certain things in my life that most people take for granted. For example, there is no need to have a wide group of friends or try to socialise with as many people as possible at school, so I don't. There is no need to follow fashion trends, so I don't. You get the idea. It'll make me an outcast in some social circles, but those circles I have no need to take part in. Win-Win. I enjoy being me, even if it's unlike what anyone else is doing. :D Oh, I also have an unusually prominent Darwin's Tubercle (it's a pointy bit on your ear, it's not anything disgusting  ). ~ W ~
RoxSabre
Kranked1, you basically just described how I act except the WOW part. If you see me in person I look like a cool person to chill with and inside the nerd of sorts. I don't go around putting down people who play these types of games in public. aquariusman
To me, I see different as something that happens, not something I strive for, or even push away. I couldn't care if I'm different, couldn't care if I'm the same. I am what I am, and that is all you get. That said, I guess I might judge myself as random. I think I've mentioned it a few times, but I'm a Jock/Nerd/Preppie/Loner/Punk. Want to know something else? I'm happy. Also, 6 month bump. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.
