Well, he leaves the room, my cell rings, and I end up having to go home. I take off, and when he walks in, he notices his money is gone. So I end up getting [cabbaged] at. Also, go to this "mutual friend" and ask him if he took your friend's money. If he admits it, then try to convince him to give the friend the money back. On top of that, if you are a close friend of his, he shouldn't immediatly be suspecting you of stealing from him. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself.
