langer
I'd say as soon as you have the financial means and access to a credit card. I know I would have loved to have spent less time in F2P seeing as everything is much faster, profitable and tons more fun in P2P. Moneyna
Possibly a F2P player should become P2P then , when he would want to seek new limits , new skills , new advantages and lots of more things that would get him/her excited. Doesn't matter how long F2P has been experienced , cause at start at F2P it would be way harder to get yourself "on the road" then it would be on members. I have thought of getting members, but i have always seem members talk about grinding skills And doing some uber hard thing. But I think you should get members when you get bored of free, And I probobly won't get bored :D Well see that depends on the player, grinding is never fun, and honestly after a while on f2p, you will get bored. Things get uber tedious on there. That's the real only reason for members, to escape that boredom and have a million diff options a million diff ways to do each. Also, yeah members is hard sometimes, thats what people want, they like a good challenge, and it's all the more rewarding when you accomplish that challenge if it was hard. Get member when you feel like it and know your skills are right for it. [hide=]You think you got it bad?My school blocks Neopets. Those dirty bastards try to keep me from feeding my Ixi. Troacctid
In my opinion, in order to make the best of members right off the bat: 70+ Combat 40+ In all stats 2m+ In bank All Free to Play Quests completed Two sets of rune armor See the trouble with this is, all those things are easier to attain in p2p. So once you've already decided you like the game enough to subscribe, why should you limit yourself to playing the smaller version for another 60+ hours just to save yourself a measly $6? I could make $6 in less than an hour of work at minimum wage. And if I was going to subscribe anyway, I might as well do it now instead of later...it isn't like I'll be missing out on member's content, because there's plenty of member's content available to low levels too. D Jay99
You should only train skills in f2p if they aren't more effectively trained in p2p. So, like woodcutting to 30, combat stats to 40 (not being able to access rock crabs or something doesn't really matter), fishing to 40, stuff like that. So, like woodcutting to 30, combat stats to 40 (not being able to access rock crabs or something doesn't really matter), fishing to 40, stuff like that. but what if the training your doing in p2p is available to nonmembers? I trained fishing with a fly fishing rod in barbarian village and dropped fish to train my last few levels. I could have been doing that as a free to play. unkn0wnwarrior
I believe people should get members only when they feel like they are ready. As well, any time after they decide they like the game. But that isn't to say they SHOULD get members if they don't want to.

cujoman31
If you already know the game and the map, right away. Five bucks isnt much. p2p can make most things easier and faster. more ge spaces, less crowded training spots, etc. If you dont know the game at all, Id say as soon as you like the game enough, and know the map. neanderthol
tbh i think the earlier you get p2p the better, ive been f2p for my whole runescape life and im pretty sure i would just be lost in members #-o
Expl0de
There are parts of membership that can help any level. I made my first account a member at 45, and I've made several accounts with combat levels even lower than that.
OutwarDragon
I don't remember an exact level but from personal experience I became a member when I exhausted quest options by finishing Dragon Slayer and decided I wanted some new goals wot work for. (and then when I came back simply to actually be able to use the hundreds of members items I had.) Really the only factor to when an f2p should become p2p is when they feel ready for it. I know that is an unpopular notion because so many people get membership a few days after creating an account and are extreeeeeeeeeemely annoying with some of their questions or spamming. But Truthfully only the person who made the account has any idea when they should make that leap.
Youmu
This is what I believe is the point you should become a P2P IMO. -Gain a basic understanding of P2P -Complete all F2P Quests and Diaries -Leveling F2P skills until you reached all quest requirements -Leveling F2P skills until you can access all guilds -Leveling F2P skills until you reach 12.5M total XP (RSOF) -Leveling F2P skills until you have access to P2P high-level content -Unlock most or all of the F2P music tracks -(Optional) Get 1 or 2 F2P 99's for a skillcape After that, feel free to become a member. :D BlogTrimmed | Master Quester | Final BossBoss pets: Bombi | Shrimpy | Ellie | Tz-Rek Jad | Karil the Bobbled | Mega Ducklings120s: Dungeoneering | Invention
Danno385
I've been playing on a 300 total level, 27 combat member for a few weeks and I can't do anything on it. I say get 40 combat as a nonmember, and then become a member. Gaining combat in members is no easyier in members it just has better drops. In fact, I do have some pancake mix. Sir_Redhead
I say once your bored with f2p. I became a member at level 54, I had completed all f2p quests, and had reletively good non-combat skills. Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! Gained 99 fishing 5/22/09!I forgot when I got 99 cooking!Proud member of Jovial Rovers
ScreaminDemon
Id have to agree with Redhead. Its not good to rush members, because then you're missing the fun of f2p and the good days when you first started and were truely a naive noob. I think once you have learned a fair bit about f2p and are beginning to saturate with information, you should make the switch to members.
Lielac
It took me three years to decide when I was going to get members and another year to finish Dragon Slayer and scrounge up enough money. I'm not sure what my stats were, but I'm pretty sure I was wearing rune, green dragonhide, and was able to enter the fishing guild before I knew where it was and was shelling out the five dollars a month to be able to get in. When I think you should start shelling out the monthly blood tithe? All the free quests finished and 40+ in all combat save prayer unless you're just that insane, but I recommend saving prayer for when you can get at someone's gilded altar. Get enough for protect item, however; that spell is GOD. For skills, have a decent understanding of them. Not necessarily a decent level, just enough that you know how they work and don't have to ask people about them. And for Pete's sake, KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND! One of the reasons why I really wanted members was because I had seen it all. Save for a couple corners of the Wilderness, I had been everywhere free players can go, and knew those places forwards, backwards, inside out, upside down, and in my sleep. ...And then spend the first couple days of members going from east to west as far as you can and memorizing the routes, even if you do have a high magic level. You never know when you'll have to go somewhere specifically without teleporting, after all! ... Yeah. If you understood what I was trying to get across, the cookies are in the top left cupboard. Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation.
Assume Nothing
Once all quests have been completed, with around 50 all stats (easy ones, not like rc), then switching to members is fine, but ultimately it's dependant on the goals you've set yourself. In P2P, a extremely hard F2p achievement will be an 'easy' skill. Questing (with guides ofcourse, no, a new member will find it hard to do them without) is the best way to get yourself familiar with skills. That being said, to summarise, it really depends on one's goals in RuneScape.
hihihi727
When you feel like it. Runescape isn't about getting the fastest possible exp and money, its about having fun. And what from i remember, p2p has plenty of low level content
