llVIU
It is underrated. When I wear it and use when for exampling runecrafting, I always meet at least one person who says first "What necklace is that?". When I tell him or her they say: "Use dual ring instead. Games necklace ****.". extra 5 seconds adds up when you're doing 99 million runs or whatever. use glories, first you invest like 2mil gp for ~full inventory of glories, but then you got almost an infinte ammount of fast banking (only needs to be charged each 28*4=112 charges or w/e, using up 1 burthope tele) you can just sell them back, maybe you lose gp, maybe you profit Goal: getting all skills to
smobo
Torag Hammers, people treat them like crap when they can actually do decent damage. I just had my first encounter with Waterfiends (as a Slayer task) and used these. They do third best crush damage in the game (leaving out the hour-degrade and Stealing Creation items) and they're faster than mauls, warhammers or battleaxes. And they're under 100k. The only problem is its got a requirement of 70, thus it has to compete with whip, and the rest of the barrows equipment. Whip is faster, has a higher str bonus, and is 1 handed. Torag's hammers are about at par stat wise with d scim + rune def (d scim+ rune def has +1 attack, -1 str, plus some defense), but its slower. They also gave Torag a terrible set spec, which is useless in non pvp situations. Something else that's surprisingly underrated is whip at waterfiends. A lot of people confuse "weak against crush" with "practically immune to slash". Whip + def is actually pretty effective against waterfiends. Not as good as sara sword, godsword or zammy spear, but its a lot better then t hams, d mace, d spear and a lot of other things i've seen people use there. If it's 150 hours to 91 rc, using the games necklace will take 300 trips more than glories (and you must pay for each and every games necklace, while glory charges are free). Each trip to ZMI is around 1.6k-2k (I'm not sure of the number, it's been a while). You do the math, it REALLY adds up. Let's say that it comes out to 550k. Well if ZMI is 45k xp per hour, that's 7-8 hours more work. ~It's Super Effective! Well, I didn't presume "practically immune to slash" but I did presume "more susceptible to crush". I didn't try whip because I don't have a rune defender. The only other thing I tried was granite maul - hits hard enough, just seems take forever. When I get a rune defender I'll do a whip/rdefender comparison with the hammers. I wouldn't advocate using Torag's Hammers as a default weapon or say they're my weapon of choice - that's still the whip for me most of the time. But they're certainly effective against anything vulnerable to crush. As long as your defence (whether armour or prayer or whatever) is good enough not to need the shield slot I think they're a reasonable choice. And I do find them fun for low level stuff when collecting herbs etc. I know, small things amuse small minds, but thumping beasties with blunt instruments does indeed amuse me. Best drop so far: Dragon Chainbody from a Dust Devil.
Hubs
the rune mace in f2p pvp or bh...i'm not joking people take you as a joke then you start hitting constant mid-low 20s it's a crush weapon so it's useful on plates and relatively accurate i've had many succesful ko's using mace + 2h and the +3? pray bonus is handy Same with Void + Adamant Crossbow. Went to PVP today; people were literally lining up to kill me. It satisfying to watch the "lul niec addy cbow noob", then *38 KO*. They don't seem to get that Diamond (e) hits just as hard with an adamant crossbow when compared to a rune one. ~Fire cape achieved at combat lvl 80~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~BLOG~blog~

I mean if you're in void a death will already be a huge loss, and Rune C'bow is better than addy any way you look at it anyways, right?
MotherBrainII
I'm far from sure on this, but it's possible that he's using it so that his Void protects over everything else. IIRC, Adamant Crossbows have a lower protect value than any item in the Void set. OT: The Ancient Staff as a melee weapon.

Assume Nothing
The Rune Hatchet, people seem to think that because the dragon hatchet is made of dragonmetal, it should cut logs 2-3 times faster than the Rune counterpart, *sigh*.
DragonSam
Torag Hammers, people treat them like crap when they can actually do decent damage. I just had a go at Aberrant Spectres. Used abyssal whip most of the time, but tried Torag's Hammers for a lark and to compare. I only did five for each, but Torag's averaged 12 hits to kill, and the whip averaged 13.8. So the damage might balance up the difference in speed. Best drop so far: Dragon Chainbody from a Dust Devil.
llVIU
The Rune Hatchet, people seem to think that because the dragon hatchet is made of dragonmetal, it should cut logs 2-3 times faster than the Rune counterpart, *sigh*. People that have ~1mil gp spare can just buy dragon hatchet, wc and get more logs than with rune hatchet, and when they're done they can just sell the dragon hatchet, so why would you bother keep the 1mil gp lie in bank and go to waste when you can cut (imo) like 5% more or whatever the procent is. It would seem pretty sensless to me, and still - a lot of people use rune hatchet, so it's not under rated at all and neither are those tuna/corn potatoes, I've seen a lot of people use them, pk/jad/gwd... if the price was a lot lower then I'd say it was underrated. if anything, it's overrated and overpriced, I'd pick saradomin brew+restore over the tuna potatoes, or just go with regular sharks or the extremly economic tunas/cods/etc. I'm not sure, but excalipoor 2 might be underrated... it's as good as a super def pot + 1 shark each spec (actually it depends on def/hp levels...) Yea, people are always like. ITS TEH CHEAPER AND ITZ LIKE THE SAME. Sure, if the axe deteriorated when you cut trees, but they don't you can just sell it back later, so the fact is, your always better off with a dragon hatchet if you can afford it unless the price is currently falling.
