Update of the year?

Featured Replies

suprised we haven't had this topic yet, usually do?

For me personally its either While Guthix Sleeps quest, or Summoning, obvious but having a familiar wrong helps alot, i remember the skill getting release and jagex having to tell us what the skill is for.. saying how it was meant to aid the way we do combat, i cant live without my Unicorn, and im looking forward to my Pack Yak, its really changed the way i do combat in runescape and its even useful for skills

But this year, there has been alot for everyone, Slayers have gotten some very useful gear, the slayer helmet, and i dont think twice before i go to my tasks, should i go to Chaos tunnels? Heck yeah! its so much more convenient, and with increased charm rate makes it worth the while.

Pvp is a blast, and its good for everyone some quick loot, to work on your player vs player, to run around and lose your penance gloves (dont ask).

New innovative quests, i personally like the direction they are taking, Rocking Out was well thought out, The GE Database means i dont have to run to GE everytime i need to buy something.

Perhaps you like the new array of minigames, Fist of Guthix, the new Clan wars changes, Distractions and Diversions, a new way to train once a week, The Great Orb Project, which f2p cant get enough of!

The new addition of holiday quests, and not forgetting Runescape HD!

What was your favourite update this year? next year mobilising armies, new skills under their sleeves, the pheonix distractions and diversions and of course the release of Mechscape in March 2009.

Ah, but RuneScape HD of course.

1. Graphics update.

2. Summoning

3. PvP

The graphics just totally transformed the game, imo. I can't live without them anymore. Same goes for summoning. Extremely useful. Third is PvP.. allthough I never do PvP, it still is a huge and amazing update.

Summoning -> Graphics

I know that CT was released with summon, but im saying for slayer tasks its convenient as it has alot of tasks down there, and CT is there for you and your familiar i know that, all i was saying is its more useful for slayer :P

What's CT? and mine would have to be um...if anything HD, i ts the only thing that has benefited me i've lost Cash on or haven't tried the new updates

BH level fixes were pretty good and the FOG items aswell

Oh! And Stealing Creation since nobody has mentioned it

I thought since it was a headline update it didnt really keep up with the other headliners it could have been more, the rewards are good but personally id rather spend a little more cash, but at least dhides and things will now lower since only half is needed, so it means half the demand

I Personally would have liked a AOE style thing with 2 towns barricading entrances etc, and having resource pools within the town, that SC had great potential in my eyes

smellysockssigbyblfazer.png

My top updates would have to be:

1. Graphics: Jagex took their biggest weakspot and smashed it into the ground.

2. PVP Worlds: I don't really pvp, but it was still an enormous update, changed methods of training with gloves, and gave you a place you could work in privacy

3. Summoning: Bunyips anyone?

4. Minigames: I'm still hooked on SC, and the rewards aren't half bad.

1. Summoning - Extremely useful

2. Grandmaster quest - Brought me out of poverty hole

3. PVP - Because it's lots of fun

HD didn't affect me because I don't use it. I lag too much.

1. Graphics

2. Summoning

3. WGS

and last on the list pvp.

For me it has been Summoning and Stealing Creation, along with the first Grandmaster Quest.

I'm the envy of my friends with the runescape back pack and t-shirt

Summoning

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

1-Summoning:I love my bunyip, and it's funny to see a granite lobster solo a level 80 player in CW while I deal with other ones.

2-PvP worlds: Something to burn all my money on now that I'm f2p!

3-Smoking Kills:Slayer because a lot easier, and even more fun

1. While Guthix Sleeps: amazing story, really looking forward to a follow-up.

2. All Fired Up: the Inferno Adze rules.

3. Runecrafting Guild: easy pure ess and fast teles to the altars and the surrounding area's.

BTW: CT = Chaos Tunnels

CoinShare birthed many mediocre boss hunters, and tainted the game because of it.

That, and summon. But summon was a good update.

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I'm gonna have to go with Summoning, it has helped me do a plethora of things. I wouold give PvP a close second and the Graphics third place.

MY RSN IS Shadow latio

My Xbox gamertag is Wat Is Aim

Currently on back on RS :D.

1. summoning (pretty much speaks for itself.)

2. WGS (gave a brief description about the origin of dragonkin and of course, a new pair of claws to pwn noobs.)

3. item lending (who wouldn't miss the opportunity to wear all the phat colors?)

worst update:

1. high detail. a lot of items look horrible now. doesn't even run on my computer.

id say distractions and diversions. they dont count as minigames. but as a separate aspect of the game on their own. they offer exp/money that isnt boring black and white point and click, and the rewards are pretty good

I really have enjoyed Summoning and While Guthix Sleeps the most. Summoning has been beneficial in close to every skill if not all in more than one way. That's just amazing to see how one skill can be supportive of each of their counterparts. While Guthix Sleeps hits the top of my list as well because I now have the title of Grand Master Quester. I really enjoyed the quest and I did make a buck or two off of it (completed it the second day it was out and made ~13M in total from the dragon lump and selling my black elite(I decided to keep my Dagon'Hai, I love it too much to even sell and then buy back lower)). I can't wait for the next Grand Master Quest.

Those were just the two that I really enjoyed this much, I can't wait to see what they have planned next.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

Many people seem to forget about this, but the bank update really made my life in runescape a lot easier!
