IGoddessI
Having the one you love fall asleep in your arms Awwwww that is SO SWEET! trust me it doesn't matter how in love you are, after a few years of the same thing it's just as lovely to sleep with your backs turned  The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Good one that can be really joyous at the best of times. I am driven by emotion and instinct more than intelligence but once you take emotion out of something and view it for what it really is, that can be quite satisfying. Back in the days that I used to get stoned, it happened a lot more often lol The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. warri0r45
Simple things like listening to great music, writing and playing music and hanging out with friends. I also get a lot of joy from achieving what I have academically... there aren't many feelings greater than getting good results after weeks of study and revision. BlueLancer
I don't really gain joy anymore from anything except helping people. And maybe from having a child, but haven't experienced that yet... Kids are the best thing in the world. They say things like they are, don't stab you in the back, they can be taught to be good & considerate, they can genuinely enjoy small things like playing with other kids, toys, football, etc. There is no comparable joy like seeing your child (or someone else's) being happy. It's the only thing left that sparks an emotional reaction to me. I wouldn't say at all "love" (besides the parental one) is the greatest joy. That's hollywood bullshit. It's extremely hard to find a person who will unquestionably love another person for the duration of their life. Most people are just selfish animals who will show their true colors when under pressure, unfavourable conditions, financial trouble... When young people mention "love", maybe they really just mean lust. Wanting to have sex with someone a few times is not love or a reason to get married. True love can apply both to significant others and family members. It means you stay with that person & help them even if they hit the rock bottom or go to jail. You are there for them at times of distress. You will take a bullet and fight to death for that person even if mobsters threaten her/his life. You will sell your house and car to pay for a critical heart surgery they need to stay alive. If you only go by lust and think that's love, you'll learn it the hard way... You'll hook up with people with their own interests in mind only. You will get exploited financially for some dinners and expensive gifts, then dumped like a cold sponge at the first sign of trouble or when the person gets bored of you. I also had the mentality that love was just a Hollywood creation to make stories more appealing until I experienced it firsthand. Love to me is sharing your life with another person because having them around makes your world a better and more enjoyable place. I love my brother because we have a good bond, we play music well together, we enjoy similar shows, and have identical ideals. I love my best friend because we have the same opinions about kids our age (we always make fun of them together), we always have the same thing in mind, and we can have conversations for hours. I love my girlfriend because she's the only girl I've ever encountered who I was completely comfortable with and I'm the only guy she was comfortable with, our life stories sound similar, we have fun times being together, and of course because she's very attractive. You can call that lust, but I just see it as another reason to love her - just like I have reasons why I love my brother and friend. The only difference between my love for my brother, my friend, and my girlfriend is that there are different reasons for loving them all.

EdgedThesis
Adrenaline. Where you can feel your heart beating against your chest, where you can gauge your body's beat by the pump of your veins--where the tingle of sweat pierces your skin like a million tiny daggers. Amongst all of that chaos, there is oddly a sense of clarity. Almost makes you meditative, makes things move in slow motion. It feels like electricity is bursting from your fingertips. It feels good. But I don't want to go among mad people!Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

l0rd
Watching them grow, their first smile, their first laugh and trust me you never thought you'd say the words "Oh good boy" when your son has done the most massive [cabbage] you've ever seen. The sad part is you mean it! I read that and my mind took out the word "done" the first time I read it so I was like XD. But then I re-read it to confirm the XD. But the XD wasn't appropriate when reading it correctly, it was more like =] worthy. Marco
Greatest joy, eh... I'd say spending a whole day with someone you truly love. From the moment you wake up together, looking into eachothers eyes while the sun starts lighting up the room more and more by the second, knowing that you've both got a whole day to just be with eachother and not have to worry about anything else. Knowing that it doesn't matter what you even do together because you're both so comfortable and content that it doesn't make a difference whether it's going out to a resturaunt or dossing about at home, taking a midnight stroll watching rubbish films all day. Right up until you finally decide to go to sleep in eachothers arms, being excited that in a few hours you'll get to wake up and do it all over again. Edit: And then she tells you she's had enough of acting out your strange fantasy, and although it was a nice break from being payed for sex, shes still wants paying. #-o
BlueLancer
I believe in real love. I also had the mentality that love was just a Hollywood creation to make stories more appealing until I experienced it firsthand. Love to me is sharing your life with another person because having them around makes your world a better and more enjoyable place. I hope it lasts for you... But even the sweetest people can be devious or turn against you due to circumstances. The best way to be prepared is not be surprised if it happens. If you hooked up with the right type of person though, you can just 'know' they will stick with you through the good and the bad times. You're very much in luck by finding such a person. In the case of a lot of people you can almost instantly see how shallow they are just by listening to their speech, elitism, greed etc... These people wouldn't know true loyalty if it hit them in the face. Once in a while you'll meet a person free of hostile bias who just wants to live her life (or his, depending on which way you swing) and sticks with people close to her/him. How many of those skanks Donald Trump has been with would *instantly* dump him if his stock value went down to zero, or he got 5 years in prison for fraud? That's the kind of parasitic, whorish woman you should avoid at all costs, and find a real woman.

I also love making my friends and family laugh, or laughing with them. I was going to say something like "understanding a problem that's been bothering you your whole life. Finally solving a long-term issue." I obviously don't have kids, but I'd think that watching them become successful would be great, seeing all your hard work pay off. AdamMonkey0
Watching at TV show all the way through and it ends without a cliffhanger For the love of pete, why do people go and ruin a perfectly good TV show by putting in a cliffhanger? I remember when Inuyasha ended... that was on my mind for several months. Also Full Metal Alchemist: The Movie ended horribly with a cliffhanger... But when you have a TV show end without one (like the world gets nuked or something) then that brings joy.. pure joy to my soul. BTW: I havent had a child yet, but I have a good feeling that my opinion will change on that day
