ember3579
The more I read this the more I realize how similar this stuff is to my life. :| I've only bullied this kid because he's annoying and acts like a 5 year old, and he like follows me and my group of friends everywhere. It's seriously gotten out of hand. One time we just sat at lunch, he comes along. Two of us move to another table to talk to someone else, and the kid picked up his tray and followed us. He always and says, "HEY, BEST BUDDIES!" Everyone hates him. I no longer call him names, I just ignore him. But some people have gotten out of hand with him. And majority of the school is all gangsters and stuff, while the gifted program people are all like nothing like the rest, and get ridiculed a lot. I'm hispanic and I've been called white because I was listening to Avenged Sevenfold. I'm so sorry I don't like hearing about 20 year old men talking really fast about women and money. There is this one kid, who says he's black and mexican. He's so freaking annoying, and thinks he is ghetto, gangsta, hood, etc. And he even made a rapper name for himself, "Purpul Ice". He just goes around acting all tough cusses at people randomly. If you retaliate, he threatens to kill you and your family. He's so annoying. In my opinion, bullying is just stupid. There is no point in it other than to build up some fool's self-esteem. Also, if ridiculing others makes you feel high and mighty, that's just odd. :/ There are many other ways to do so, like get the Manager Job at McDonald's. The first guy, I wouldn't mess with him too much. He looks to be "special", if you know what I mean. It's kind of like a person bragging about winning a fight against a 3rd grader. The second guy, if it's how I imagine it would be in your area, I'm amazed that he's still breathing. I can tell you right now that if someone were to start threatening people's family around MY area (I live in the redneck capitol of the world, West Virginia), they'd have the barrel of a loaded 12 gauge shotgun shoved up their [donkey] and the person in question would pull the trigger. While there's certain things that I disagree with when they're concerned, I'd personally approve of that. In fact, I'd probably be a little more creative. Why aren't your area's locals doing the same? You never know which rabbit hole you jump into will lead to Wonderland. - Ember3579Aku Soku Zan. - ShinsengumiYou wanna mess with me or my friends? Zierro
A reasonable amount of retaliation in self-defense is ok, I think. The school I go to agrees, apparently. And it is normal, but that is no reason to say that it's right. Not the case at the last school I went to, if you threw a punch, or anybody said you did it was a 2 day OSS Same with my school. If you resort to violence, no matter what the circumstance, you automatically get 10 days of suspension. No exceptions.

duncdar2
Wow, I don't think I could hold out as long as Chi. I do make very good grades, and I have a British Accent in an American school, so I constantly bullied. I can only take so much, I don't hit them until they throw a third punch, yes I wait for them to hit me a third time before I hit them. Generally I just use smart comebacks. Which ends in them just repaeting what they said last, in a very inmature way.

Tim
Pritty much bullied all my School life, from year 2 till year 11, even as a senior i'd keep taking crap from the 1 jerk who just wouldnt stop. i held out for so many years because i knew something would come around to him one day, sure enough it did. day after we graduated year 12, about 3 months ago now, he said something he should never have done, insulting my dead brother (birth, got scars, carried reminder for rest of life kinda thing) i snapped, dropped to the floor and did a vertical side kick to his jaw dislocating it followed by a round-kick to his side. lets just say he learnt his lesson and anyone who bullied me through those years soon found out and started acting nice all of a sudden. wierd huh? and stan18, not all Rape victims can simply goto a police station and report it, they feel horribly afraid, demorilaised and can hardly trust anyone. I should know, i work with these people trying to get help for them, it's not easy. :| and off topic: awwee... there's a mother bird feeding its young outside my window. All I'll say, mainly because I don't want to think of what would happen if people were to start talking sh** about my sister. It DOES make sense as to why people are doing that afterward, though. They don't want to have their face almost ripped off by a well-placed kick. Did you take some self-defense classes? I agree with you on rape victims. I don't have any personal experience, but I can imagine what they might be going through. Something that traumatic will put fear and/or anger into a wide variety of people. Have you ever had to even go so far as to tag along with the person so they feel more secure? And that's awesome, wish more humans would take as much care with their kids. Deiophobus
Hope that guy's in jail right now. Raping woman is the work of the scum of the earth. Someone told me a statistic yesterday that one in five women in the U.S. have been sexually assaulted. That seems kind of big, and they couldn't site it, so I'm not sure it's true.. Discussing that stemmed from discussing how women are treated in the Islamic world, and how many people there see western women as oppressed and mistreated. Even if that statistic is wrong, I know we have a far higher prevalence in rape and sexual assault than any Islamic country.

ember3579
True. Islamic law doesn't leave too much room for crime in general. I WILL give them that. However, their methods leave something to be desired. Like, say, restraint? Also, it's not unheard of for rape victims to be shunned in more than one area around there. I think that it's a prime example of how some things in religious texts were just records of how things got done back in the day. Just look through stuff like some segments of the Old Testament and Sharia Law for all the examples you'll need. And no, I'm not atheist. I'm Christian, but also a "thinker". Lielac
Bullying. THAT. Ohhhhh, how I despise and loath bullies. I was home-schooled until grade six, and I decided to go to school then. DECIDED, myself, because I wanted to see what it was like. Having a new friend turning on me a month and a half in because I made him leave my house when he came over and then wouldn't leave kind of left a bad impression, especially since he proceeded to bully me the rest of the school year. Oh, and the whole fact that I was seen as the 'new geeky girl, ohhhhHHHhhh don't talk to her she'll tell you everything because she's a know-it-all' which meant the only people I COULD hang around with was the bully-twerp and his half-bald minion really didn't help. Lucky for me, I got a chance to go to French Immersion the next year, and no bullies there... much. This [wagon] of a classmate, let's call him T for Twerp, thought it was funny to start hitting on me when I accidentally let slip some information about my upper underthings. I got my petty revenge when I soaked him with my water bottle (improvised water guns ftw) at the end of the school year, though \ . And now I'm taking a break until high school. And the point of this? Bullying is bad and leaves a horrible first impression on a newcomer. Soaking people who harass you is hilarious, especially if you and they know they can't do anything or you're going to rat on 'em.
