Toad Posted January 29, 2009 Share Posted January 29, 2009 From the RSOF. ;) Good to see they are getting what they deserve. :x I think it's vital they do this so players know that its zero tolerance otherwise future glitches will be exploited instead of reported, theres a need to deliver weekly which jagex manage to do with content, which is hard to do and the majority of updates are over looked but when the big ones come they do really well, people say how warcraft does this, and that... but the content jagex brings to the table ready every week and the headline updates are worth the wait. Mistakes happen in the game industry, a string of code can cause all kinds of problems, people will learn from today that taking advantage of something like this may be a short time fix, but it sure as hell isn't going to work long time if it makes the front page people are going to have to fall in-line :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Obviously, identifying who did what and how badly they did it is going to take a little time, but rest assured that we ARE looking into it, and that these people won't get away with it. I know that a few of you are worried that players that genuinely didn't know this was a bug will be caught up in the action, however, there are ways of telling who has innocently clicked on the bushes a couple of extra times and who has hammered their mouse button into infinity. We'll keep this in mind, as we always do. It's really sad when players think they can race up the XP ladder by cheating like this, and I know that many of you are upset because you've spent a lot of time levelling your skills. I'm not going to go through every level myself but this is what I was asking. I guess if you were able to trap it before a lot of people crowded around it would be very do-able. 123 cash-ins... I'd say do a stats reset. All stats back to level 1. Just like what happened in the old days if you were macroing. I don't understand how people could possibly get a 99 off of this in such a short period of time unless they were already well into the 90s... 10% more people have 99 RuneCraft? Seriously? I interpreted that as "10% more people have gained 99 rc then on a normal day". Doesn't seem all that much to me off from the average to me. However, that vid showed how much is was abused, so I'm not really sure. Could it be done in every world, or was it only on one? Because if every world was as busy as that vid, maybe 10% more people have 99rc indeed. Owh and of course they should all be banned and all that blah, but I didn't feel like creating a post just for saying what everyone has said before me already. No. That would make uber pures just like plate pures back in the days, like 1 def pures with Barrows gloves and such. If you're reduced to level 1 in everything except HP, and you keep your skillcapes, can you wear them still? Do they all become untrimmed? Interesting questions. Some guy traded me and showed me 97M CASH, he believed he wouldn't get banned if he traded for coins because jagex can easily detect xp gains. (he traded around 1500 points). I got muted for this too. i said mod mark was going to come and barrage the niggles :lol: . then i got more mutesauce for explaining the glitch, but before that, I expressly said DO NOT DO THIS.
