Post your favorite recepie, thing to eat or just even something you tried recently and liked!

Recently my dad marinated some steaks in this generic Krojer steak seasoning for like three days, and cooked them on a charcoal grill. I kid you not, they were some of the best steaks i've ever had =P~ (and for a carnivore like me, thats saying something). Lazyness sure payed off that time!

Oh boyo, do you have a lot to learn about a good barbecue. But, I'm afraid it's illegal for me to give away our Southern secrets - however, I am allowed to say one thing: PAULA DEEN.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

My dad's smoked salmon, I loves that stuff...crap now I want some. <.<

Traditional Irish stew is good, but nothing beats this thing my granddad used to do, a very old celtic way of cooking food.

He'd dig a hole about 2-3 foot deep and same wide while he had some rocks on top of a very hot fire. He'd throw the rocks into the pit once they're extremely hot, then fill it up with water and throw in a full Venison leg covered in straw to keep away the dirt from the venison. He'd place moss and shrubs over the top to keep the heat in and let it cook till the water turns luke warm.

Basically the result is, a extremely tender piece of venison cooked for about 4-6 hours in boiling to hot water. The meat pretty much falls away from the bone and a lot of the fat is dissolved as well making for a great taste. It's pretty rare when he does it, but I'm yet to try something better tasting from such a wacky way of cooking.

Ziti (based on how i usually do it)

Cook some pasta (not spaghetti) and throw some meatballs (10-15 roughly) (or falafel, or none at all) into the pan.

½ - 1 garlic, chop into small squares.

10-20 olives (preferably without seeds), green or black.

½ of a chive, chopped into small pieces.

Take out a bowl, pour mashed-tomatoes and half a bottle of pasta-sauce into it and mix all the ingredients around+a bit of salt and pepper.

Pour it into an oven-safe "bowl" (dunno proper english word for "ugnssäker form"),

(if you can afford) top the surface with Parmesan (otherwise just a strong cheese).

Put it into the oven with some foil covering it for about 30-45min on 175-200C.

Serve with some basil on top.

Enjoy!

World class service combined with world class food. It is expensive tho, so it's not an every day/week/month experience for us average folk.

First annual Clausmas - 2009 December 25

I'm working on a spiced hard cider (a little untimely given the weather). However, the batch that just finished is a little off and stiff. I'm probably gonna let this particular batch age awhile before I drink it; let some of the off flavors mellow out. Next on my list is beer (maybe a lager), but I need better kitchen facilities before I do that.

Words can't describe how awesome that looks. It should be called "The Hand of Death" though as it will give you an instant heart attack if you eat it.

My dad has told me about one of his friends/uncles who would take a 100 gal. cauldron, throw in 50 lbs. of meat (any kind), 20 lbs of carrots/lettuce/vegetables, and like 10 lbs. of potatoes, and let it cook for a few days, and feed a nearby town and all of the outlying areas for close to a week... :twss:

At first I was like, "Mummy-jee, what the hell?" But I took that blasphemous comment back when I tasted this unusual mix. It was ruddy delicious.

We once made a Tuna dish with pasta and special sauce, and topped it with loads of cheese and some herby breadcrumbs. That was so nice.
