When you consider that some skills cost more than 10 gp per exp, lamps almost always give more value than the other alternatives. Especially the charms... sheesh, let's see 1 blue charm which can get me 600 sum exp at best for my level and cost me like 2k or a free 830 exp. Hmm. You have to remember that time is money and getting that blue charm could have costed you alot in time (aka money). People pay ~3k just to get their crimsons (proven by the popularity for bursting rock lobs), for blue I'm sure people would be paying MUCH more. I always go xp lamp, although I've got very very few randoms ever since the update.
