If you're so worried about it, why not just go talk him? Its like a 2 min conversation. Also visage drops are rare. They got extremely lucky in getting it 500 kills after talking to him.

No, he's not lucky. They're EXTREMELY rare. Your friend is EXTREMELY lucky. My brother got 3 within 100 kills, and he never talked to him.

Personally I got one after about 2.5k Iron Dragons.

Yes, you have to talk to him. Also if you talk to Ignatius Vulcan, the guy who sells firemaking capes, pyrefiends have a chance of dropping the flame sword.

i killed over 12k drags which should drop visage, after 2k i asked to make sure, i still never got, so don't be an idiot and flame correct answers because you haven't got lucky :)
