May 9, 200917 yr Yep! Went to my mall today knowing there was a Cash 4 Gold booth set up so I went up and asked if they gave cash on the spot the woman told me yes they do. Gave her a Chain and Charm I had bought a few years back for $40 dollars. Turns out I got $80 bucks for it at the Cash 4 Gold booth! haha! Here are pictures below for proof, I wasn't given a receipt or anything.Though the woman there was nice, I forgot to take my ID Card back after trading in the Gold. She was nice enough to find me in the mall after overhearing me tell my friend I'm gonna treat her to lunch now that I got some money at a chinese place. My Gold Chain (haven't worn it in ages, it just gathers dust) http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/2701/chain12314.jpg Cash I got leftover $56 bucks after treating my friend to dinner and buying mom something small for mothers day. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6774/cfgmoney.jpg
May 9, 200917 yr Umm, that's good to know. I thought it was a scam. :P It's not a scam, per se. It is a business and they have to make money somehow and therefore they generally buy gold for less than it is actually worth so that they can resell it for profit. You had it for four years? Here's why they gave you $80 bucks for it: source: http://goldprice.org/gold-price-history.html#5_year_gold_price If you remember how much it weighed, you can use that ^ to see how good of a deal you really got (as an overall investment, I say good job because you were able to buy low and sell high; I'm just curious if you got a good deal at the current price of gold). May 9, 200917 yr Mailing your gold off is a scam, no guarantee of return ya know what I mean? But I've never heard these real-life booths before. Must more reliable with somebody face-to-face. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
May 9, 200917 yr Merch noob u da rezon GE crashing lolol On topic: Gratz on making the extra money. Heh. I don't even have any jewelery or this cash 4 gold thing.
May 9, 200917 yr They ARE A SCAM. PS: That chain you gave them was worth wayyyy more than what they gave you http://www.complaintsboard.com/complain ... 17648.html http://cockeyed.com/citizen/goldkit/cheat.shtml
May 9, 200917 yr Yeah i found a gold chain in the middle of a field once and took it to one of those types of shops in town. They offered me £1.80 for it (~$4) I just chucked it on eBay and got £22 for it lol : Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!
May 9, 200917 yr Lol, it's not a scam if its advertised on prime time TV. But you can get more money from a jewelers. Take any gold or any jewelry to a jewelry store and they will buy it back from you and melt it down to re-use it.
May 9, 200917 yr I still wouldn't be conformable just sending it in the mail. But the booths are totally fine. Good job on the 40 dollar profit. I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]

Take any gold or any jewelry to a jewelry store and they will buy it back from you and melt it down to re-use it. can still be a scam, continued advertising indicates that it is probably just greatly underpaying; depending on how we define scam it could be looked at as one. Does anybody here bother clicking on links or just hit the reply button as fast as possible? Being advertised on TV just means that it's a scam that is successful of robbing people. 4. Although the payment (check) for your item is dated within 24 hrs of testing your jewelry, we SOMETIMES DO NOT actually send out the check until up to 3-4 days later. (if you are a customer check the date the check was issued against the stamped date on the envelope.) 5. We do offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee or your jewelry returned, BUT THE CATCH IS, that the guarantee is to contact us within 10 DAYS from when your check is DATED. (This begins with the time it took for the accounts payables dept. to ISSUE the check and also including the TRANSIT TIME for you to receive your check in the mail. **** NOTATE THE COMMERCIALS THAT INSINUATE THAT YOU GET YOUR CASH IN 24 HRS.*** If you request (sign) for FAST CASH (direct deposit) you automatically WAIVE your rights to have your items returned, EVEN if you are not satisfied with amount of your deposit. 6. You generally receive your check around the "7th-10th" business day, AND majority of the time Customers are outraged when they lay eyes on the amount of their check. Some Customer's even receive a check for 0.01 cents. 7. There have been times when we have received your package and MISPLACED or LOST it at the facility. We CLAIM to not have received the items and even try to convince you that it was lost in the hands of USPS. At which point we begin an insurance claim process on your package. We ask you to send us an itemized list of the content of the package, trying to be as descriptive as you possible can (if you can remember everything in full detail) and a copy of your state issud ID. We then issue an INSURANCE CLAIM for UP TO 100 dollars. GOD FORBID your items are worth more then a 100 dollars. If you call customer service to check on the status of your shipment, and we actually have not received your package, we inform you of the insurance claim process. For those who know that their items are worth more than a hundred dollars, they become very upset and threaten to take action against the company, at that point we inform the customer that if they knew their items were worth more they should have added additional insurance at the Post Office. BUT unless you are paying to ship your items in a completely different package other then the refiner's kit, you are unable to add insurance to the package. 8. For those who do get in touch with us within the allotted time frame, we already know what you are calling about. Customers want their items returned, because there check amount is so insultingly LOW. The first thing a Rep will ask you is "HOW MUCH WERE YOU EXPECTING TO GET BACK?" This way we can know how much to "BONUS" you. *Definition of a BONUS: We issue low checks just to have you call us back if you are smart enough to realize that you just got scammed. For the smart one's we are paid to offer u a bonus up to 3x the original amount of your check and you accept. For ex: Sally Smith receives a check for $27.86 for a Rolex watch(which we dont issue value for), a class ring, a ring with diamond chips, a pair of earrings with emeralds, as well as a few sterling silver pieces, and maybe a few items that were really of no value. Now Sally Smith calls the cust srvc dept, where she speaks to a rep who seems so concerned and will see if she can do better with the amount by speaking to a "SUPERVISOR". We then place the caller on Mute, and speak to our neighbors or doodle on a sheet, or twiddle with our hair for about 45 seconds, while we are supposedly speaking to our supervisor about Ms. Smith's complaint. We then come back with an offer to "BUMP UP YOUR MELT DATE or any other lies the cust srvc reps can think of, and offer you a total amount of $53.20 which is a little under double the amount of your original check; in which case if you accept, the cust srvc rep makes a 15.00 bonus off of your transaction. If the customer service rep offers you under triple the amount of your orig check, he/she makes 10.oo in bonuses.
May 9, 200917 yr Lol, it's not a scam if its advertised on prime time TV.I believe that to be a false statement evidenced by Bloodstain's links.
May 10, 200917 yr Some of these gold merchers are scams, others are just greatly underpaying. The idea is that they buy your gold (because gold has been increasing in value), melt it, and sell it for more. They're merchants. thats all it is. A few of them are genuinely scams where they take your gold and run, but the legit ones usually just take your gold that you don't want anymore and give you some profit for it. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.

May 10, 200917 yr I've also had a good experience with gold. I bought a Krugerrand in 2007 and sold it about six months ago for a profit of 115. It went up a lot when you consider how unlikely it is that it would go down a lot in value. Your post doesn't really say if it was a good deal or not. Do you know how much gold was in the chain? Nice job making a good investment though, enjoy the money. Why would anybody send their gold to a company by mail? I thought it was easy to find places that buy gold in the US. I'm sure you would also get a better price by just selling through an internet auction.
May 10, 200917 yr Interesting, I saw a poster for one of these gold buying places on my highstreet today. Quite a good business idea in these recessionary times. Sadly another way to profit from the poor and ignorant though. For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns. The time when the living and the dead exist as one.
May 10, 200917 yr I saw a story on Good Morning America on this. They sent gold to three different gold companies to see if they were worth it. The results were suprising. Link to story. Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~ DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!
May 10, 200917 yr I saw a story on Good Morning America on this. They sent gold to three different gold companies to see if they were worth it. The results were suprising. Link to story. I saw that too, and it's [bleep]ing stupid, cash4gold don't pay you based on the price of what the jewelery would be worth normally, they pay you based on the amount of gold you send in, and the amount it's worth in weight. But nobody realizes that.
May 11, 200917 yr :-# Bad taste in jewelry, my friend.. Grats on selling the PoS for 200% of what you bought it though.. \ ~Ren First post on these forums in agggggges :!: .
