North Korea announced Monday that it successfully carried out an underground nuclear test, weeks after threatening to restart its rogue atomic program.

I could believe it, but something doesn't rub me right about this. Especially with Kim being quite sickly lately, they might be trying to distract the world from the switch of power that's starting to take place.

Cowards can't block Warriors.

This is getting scary.

They need to be destroyed as soon as possible.

They keep on testing the world's patience. I hope everyone learned a lesson from WWII in that appeasing will not get us anywhere. This needs to be taken care of quickly and effectivly.

I'm kinda getting scared now, north koreans are crazy [bleep]es. But I live in canada, so I'm prolly safe? I think it's about time someone put and end to north koreas shenanagens(sp?) someone call batman.

North Korea makes me wish we hadnt screwed up Vietnam and Iraq

Although it sucks to need military force, Im worried this is going to end up as some type of second Korean war. The country's army is too stable to organize a coup, and if they start developing nukes it becomes a very bad situation.

We won't let them develope nukes. If they start, then bad things will happen to North Korea.

Which is why Iraq and Vietnam worry me; we have messed up so many foreign policy situations that Im worried no one will be willing to stop a country that is a genuine threat to everyone around them.

North Korea was already telling everyone that they had successfully launched a satellite into space as we watched it fall into the sea.

But regardless of their laughable attempts at appearing better than they are, aren't multiple nations paying them not to do this?

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Not bugged by this one bit. North Korea isn't stupid, and how many countries in the world to tests like these and have weapons like those?

Remember how Iran photoshopped a missile launch ?

Yeah, this is similar but helluva lot funnier because its goddamn North Korea.

Also, Pakistanis are illiterate, ill-advised and unknowledgeable [puncture]s when it comes to nuclear wepons. They had it handed to them on a silver platter.

And also kudos to Israel for NOT signing the NPT.

Also, I dont have much to say about India.

So yeah, I think I've covered it.

How lovely, another platitude.

I highly doubt there will be military action any time soon. Analysts in general agree on 2 things:

1) The main goal of North Korea's nuclear testing is to get attention: If the current nuclear capable countries want to get North Korea to stop nuclear testing, they will have to send them aid and give them concessions, and have done so already.

2) The United States is too tied down in Iraq/Afghanistan. North Korea has a massive army; the United States would need all its military power to fight a war on that scale.

The difference now this time is that North Korea will not have Stalin as a backup.

What do you think would happen if the states disarmed all of their nuclear weapons or even all of their military?

Haha, North Korea is the most pathetic country ever. I just hope that they don't actually make a nuclear missile to see what happens.

I really don't see the problem. Even kim is not stupid enough to suddenly declare war on anybody and nuke them. Even if NK had the capacity to use nuclear weapons, they will never use them. Any leader of the country will know not to use them because there will be too much of a backlash against their country in the modern world.

No, but I reckon NK will gradually bend the rules (and the tolerance of other countries) further and further until it breaks. I really hope we don't try to appease Kim, it hasn't worked in the past and it won't work in the future.

You're using logic to predict what NK will do. That won't work with them.

How dare they develop nuclear weapons, only America should have the command over all the nuclear missiles in the world

We sorta live in between the US and other scary-communist countries like Russia and NK. I wouldn't be surprised if a rogue missile dropped from the sky and exploded an entire Canadian town

hiccup.png

I don't see what America has to be worried about, it has a WMD defense system capable of taking out any ICBM launched by North Korea before it even crosses half the pacific.

Japan and South Korea, they're the most at risk IMO from a Nuclear attack by NK as I don't think they have any missile defense system capable of taking out an ICBM? I see this as nothing more than propaganda [cabbage] by NK, I think this testifies to how much of a joke NK propaganda is

Not true. That technology was never proven to work and Obama put a stop to it because Russia didn't like us having it.

I would also add that just because we have a weapon defense system doesnt mean there couldnt be other serious problems. Im not an expert in anything related to it, but wouldnt a nuclear missle being shot down cause serious health risks regardless of whether or not the warhead explodes?
