I can just see a lot of problems with a rule saying: "You can kill each other in PvP, just not in a certain way".

There's just too many options for 26king to go through. What if they did make it bannable, and people go around dying with 26k on them? Are the people who kill them going to be banned?

They need a solid update to kick it without creating more hassle for themselves.

Seems like they would only do that if they couldn't think of anything else to do to fix it. Either way I'd stop doing it if it was bannable, I need to get back to slayer anyway ;)

Don't get me wrong I am all for stopping it at any cost, but I think making it bannable would

1) Leave the door open for 26king to be done, even if it was greatly reduced

2) People banned for Jagex thinking they were 26king, even if they weren't

whoops, i guess i was asleep wind bolting with ross when that happened XD

btw, if they want to stop wind bolting, make it so you can only cast 500 spells in an hour.

that should be more than enough for any normal PKer, because i doubt they go through even that many in an hour.

btw, i thought of this in my sleep while i was windbolting with ross ;)

*wants too see how this could be made bannable*

Plus if it is , i would so die with 26 k repeatedly to d claw pjers XD.

Exactly why they can't make it illegal. This sounds like another bluff by Jagex realy or one of those rules they can't enforce like afking.

I GOT BANNED FOR D CLAW PJING

**** YOU !!!!!

Also, they CAN enforce, someone reports, they look at the 2 people, if they both on friends list and one of them has 25k and they have been discussing the trick for the last 10 minutes, then yes, they can be banned.

O.O

you gain ep the fastest standing in a hotspot right? what if the hotspots constantly changed to locations that were reciving the most activity over a certain period of time? that way there would be no empty hotspot in the middle of nowhere where you could hide out and wait. if potential 26k'ers wanted to use a hotspot, they would have no choice but to stand in the largest crowds of people.

this based on me assuming that you get much more ep by being in a hotspot rather than any other area, and that having to wait in a non hotspot wouldnt be worth the time. and im not sure if thats true or not so someone let me know if thats how you gain drop potential..

Friend sent me this. not his pic

Found this on the locked screenshot thread

What does this screenshot even prove? Hes not in clan chat and I very much doubt the CEO of Jagex is going to go train slayer on his MOD account in the 2nd floor of Slayer Tower with 1 player...

He was thanking someone for his help in something at the top of the stairs, thought i might as well ask the question

oh hey, hope you don't mind me posting the pic - didn't realise you were on these forums.

You shouldn't be killing bloodveld with melee armour by the way :-w

Nah I didn't mind, wouldn't of took the screenie if i didn't want others to use it, and I'd just come from a fire giant task before that and forgot to change into d hide, silly me

People will always be willing to police other players. Making it bannable would be an easy thing to accomplish, but it's not a rule that I would like to see put into effect.

That is true but how exactly are you going to prove they were 26king? Sometimes my friends go a long time without a pk and ask me to die for them so there potential will go down from 100. Whats wrong with that? They've died or not gotten kills in awhile and deserve a drop for attemping to pk don't they? Sure they can look at chats but people use vent and irc to chat sometimes so people can get away with it that way. It'd be a tough rule to enforce because the lack of solid evidence they can get. It'd more likely just scare off the honest players and leave the rest of the people who arn't honest to have at it and take the risk.

Making it against the rules seem like a last resort for them if they don't find a reasonable solution for it soon.

hm, if they fix this I might come back. What prices have changed exactly?

Not much realy the big items that rose are now mainly crashing hard. People are overreacting about this whole thing. A few years ago there was more money in the economy than there was now. Pures were alching for 99 mage, there was no coindestruction skill, and there was no such thing as summoning. Noone was whining about inflation then where they? Prices are too low right now and more GP in the economy only benifits people who GWD, cut yews, mine ores, etc. What am trying to say is...prices are way too low, people got used to it and when they started to rise they freaked and had to find a scapegoat. Sure pvp does bring it tons of money but realy how many people trick enough for it to effect the economy majorly? I doubt even a fourth of runescape tricks daily and to make 1m+/hr you have to be atleast 120+ it seems. But I'm not going to go against the grain and argue this further because I know it will lead in flame by the other side. My main point is....2-3 years ago there was a lot more money in the economy and many items were higher especially rares and armours.

My suggestion to all of you nay sayers is...jump in the pvp boat before it sails if you want some easy extra money to atleast cope with prices rising to what they should have been

One more thing....if it was such a big deal don't you think Jagex would have jumped on it ASAP and fixed it? The only reason they are doing anything now is because there is atleast one "26king..." thread on every page of the rants forum.

They could easily implement a recording function that starts one minute prior to the report.

Whos going to report you if your tricking in lets say 20 wild at a remote place? If people wanted to trick they could walk to some remote place in a regular world. Hop to a pvp/bh world kill the guy, pick loot, and log back into a regular world. There are many remote places in the wild and all around Runescape in which people can trick and not be seen let alone reported.

Part of it i think would simply be the scare factor, even if the chances of being caught are slim, the rule would scare a deal of the RS population out of it.

As I said above the honest players wouldn't risk it and they would move on. They used the scare factor before too, a perfect example is when they announced the bot detection upgrade. All they did was change the item ID's and try to scare potential autoers away.

I highly doubt someone will waste their time in a Pvp world trying to find someone tricking somewhere especially because they wouldn't know what world they were in or have any clue where they were at which alot of asking or spying around. It'd be a tough rule to enforce even if they had a system that picked it up because not everyone dies with GP in their inventory some use junk like bolts.

People would do it all the time with RWTers and bots. There are certain places these people go, it wouldn't be that hard to find.
