Grim_
Another report from malaysia The governmental schools have been completed and attendance is at an all time high We have completed our hydroponics research and now are converting large skyscrapers into farms(with or without private consent) We are beginning to build public universities and looking to get some qualified professors *wink* 50 more hospitals are under construction(payed for by foreign timber companies) Unfortunately some of our citizens have become dissatisfied with the new measures and started a revolution which was quickly put down and with some hasty propaganda the general public now thinks that they where deranged cultists  The birth rate is rising to close to 500,000 (the propaganda seems to be working) We are beginning free health care and want more doctors! How did holland, with 15 million people and a 50,000 man antiquated army, take over indonesia which has 230million people and a 400,000++ army. I say indonesia wins. Plus they would fight you a lot harder considering they gained their independence from you 60 years ago, and would not want to become part of your country again. Plus I already have part of Indonesia. This is what I meant when I said you must provide a valid reason and method for taking controls of other countries. You can't simply state that another country is now your colony. Assuming that Holland has not taken Indonesia, talks with their ruler have finished. Under the condition that Indonesia supplies me with 500,000 bbl/d of oil, I will allow the Indonesian ruler to maintain control of Sumatra and Java. It may sound like a ridiculous deal, but after he saw what happened with Borneo, both with his possessions and with Malaysia, he abdicated. The rest of the islands are now more or less mine, though I offer Western New Guinea to the Japanese, as they already control Papua New Guinea. As for Singapore, it remains an independent state, but a close ally and trading partner. Though I am receiving oil from Indonesia, I'm continuing construction of those wind farms and hydro-power plants I brought up a few years ago. They should be finished in a year or two, providing power for 20% of the island. Plans for similar plants in the Philippines are being created. Isolationism continues. Though I'd like to announce that a hovercraft ferry should be running between Taiwan and Luzon by the end of next year. ThurinEthir
I thought i controlled malaysia :ohnoes: You do. But Malaysia already had a ruler (not a "human ruler", but it wasn't in anarchy or anything) before you took control. Of course, you can't simply overthrow an already established ruler just like that. And since I was in the process of attacking Malaysia when you claimed it, we overthrew the old government together, and you established your rule. Of course, no leader wants that to happen to his country. Indonesia already saw the beginning stages, as their half of Borneo already rebelled...An attack, especially by a powerful army, such as mine, would easily be the nail in the coffin. [hide=Map of East Asia]August 1, 6:25 PM EST (GMT -5) Too lazy to make a color coded key on the map itself, but here: Blue = Taiwan Red = Japan Green = Malaysia Purple = Korea Black = What remains of Indonesia Yellow = "China" The stripes in western New Guinea don't indicate a fight, but I put them there simply because it's technically mine, but I'm offering it to Japan and I'm awaiting a reply. I'm also too lazy to color in all the islands, but I'm sure you get the picture. [/hide] Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. indy500fan
Norway's update: last year three modules were made. Three more are being made this year. Right now Japan is the only country that has mentioned making a module, no rush on that we are only in the second of eight years. But due to the lack of international participation Norway may start using some of the tax money to start building modules rather than just interest from the sovereign wealth fund. If it is getting close and the modules aren't done we will take part of the sovereign wealth fund (valued at $325 billion before the game started, increased oil revenue made up for other stuff and more plus it gains interest so it is still around $325, just hasn't increased like normal) and use it to finish it off in the last year. It is 2016 now, so Nopec prices are at 12% above market. 2nd year of module building, so they will be done in 2022.
a_bert
The stripes in western New Guinea don't indicate a fight, but I put them there simply because it's technically mine, but I'm offering it to Japan and I'm awaiting a reply. I'm also too lazy to color in all the islands, but I'm sure you get the picture. Sorry mate! I didn't see this. If you want something in return, what is it? If not, the Japanese military presence on PNG will move in happily and establish Japanese rule. Japan's yearly update MILITARY PERSONNEL/EQUIPMENT: One more nuclear submarine has been completed, bringing our total to 5. We're also building 60 Eurofighters. We acquired the schematics some time ago but nothing has been done with them so far. Incorporating Kenyan, Ugandan and Papua New Guinean into the Japanese army to help solve unemployment in these new countries, lengthy process though as we have to induct these new soldiers into Japanese culture. We're going to estimate that this will give the Japanese military about 250,000 new soldiers in 3 years time. Japanese troops continue to join up, as well as another 80,000 troops having completed their training. We now have 630,000 soldiers to call upon - 100,000 of these in reserve, as well as 40,000 Japanese troops in training. MILITARY/DIPLOMATIC CAMPAIGNS: Uganda is under Japan's control. We're not making any more campaigns in Africa for the next year as we consolidate our control on Uganda and Kenya - however we've sent diplomatic advisors to Ethiopia in an attempt to get (can't think of better word, someone help?) leaders their to come round to our way of thinking. Talks should be concluded by the end of the year. INFRASTRUCTURE: Around $200 million is being used on vaccines in the new countries of the Japanese empire, but we hope to see an increase in GDP in these countries of up to 3 billion in total within 5 years. A disaster at CC15 has claimed the lives of 4,000 Japanese citizens, and confidence in the new cities has dropped - however the unwavering discipline of the Japanese naval guard resulted in an overall increase in Japanese morale. RpgGamer
Production of the LAART's has been very succsesful. 72 are now fully operational and are being stored in Luxembourg. Luxembourg Emergency services now recieve a larger pay check, as all of these people require much more attention. North Belgium is being converted into an agricultral area to feed the citizens. Miners in Africa have discovered deposits of iron and coal among all of these diamonds. All of which are being collected. I'm not sure what else I can update really. I kind of like Hedgehog1's way of determining conquest results. It needs a bit more deatils though. I like percentages. See if you can work them into the mechanic. I also want to incorporate advantages, like defensive motive, terrain, morale and many other factors. Morale could beat a better handgun any day. wild_goat_14
I am joining this game kind of late, and I am very shocked to find a country that already has nuclear power. I will be the ruler of Pakistan. My plans for Pakistan will not be very easy to execute though. We are still a very poor country, and it will be hard to reach prosperity, but it can be done. My first plans are to make Pakistan a very "green" country, and I will start this by laying down a 15% tax on all electricity bills, and the funds collected from these taxes will be used to build energy effiecient hydroelectric dams for a government-run electrical company that must be used by all people in the country in 3 years. Also, I am enforcing a ban of all cigars and alcoholic products for the betterment of our people. I will post tomorrow, I like this game. wild_goat_14
Thanks dungeonal. And the tax is so that electricity can be cheaper sooner. The taxes will pay for themselves in due time. I am also starting to build my army, and so far I have 40,000 troops, and letting out a huge recruitment drive for more, but I don't want to force people to fight. We are also increasing our exports of toys to the more wealthy countries, and offering more jobs to people to make them. With the 100 million dollars that I have recieved, I am going to colonize Portugal. I am doing this by sending my army over there, to overthrow the government peacefully, and they do so happily, because we give them protection over the near countries with our growning army. Our troops now have 60,000 people, and 20 naval ships. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree.
