August 6, 200916 yr Sorry if this isn't the most discussion worthy topic, but I noticed something recently that has been a pleasent surprise. Recently, I have seen/heard on American television that a lot more profanity is being said, and some words are no longer being filtered(or said on news stations). I quite like this "change", but I'm not sure if it is real or not. So, has something happened to censorship laws really recently that has changed this or am I just hallucinating? (feel free to talk about censorship in general once I get an answer) Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
August 6, 200916 yr Well over time a lot more stuff has been allowed. But I am not really sure about very recent change. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
August 6, 200916 yr I'm not really sure about the legal side of it, but I've noticed a similar thing in Australian TV. I don't really know if it's a genuine trend or not, though.
August 6, 200916 yr I've seen a change in censorship in New Zealand too, Family Guy isn't censored or anything. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

August 6, 200916 yr Well I live in the UK and the censorship has always been more loose than America and many other countries and I haven't noticed a change here recently so I guess all of you are finally catching up with us! ;-) Click my signature for my blog!
August 6, 200916 yr I haven't of any new laws, but I'm glad of this change. I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
August 6, 200916 yr Nothing is censored on the television I watch. Some radio stations still filter the F-bomb though. PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
August 6, 200916 yr People on ESPN can apparently say damn and hell now, as I have heard it quite a bit. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
August 6, 200916 yr Well it does appear the censor is not being used much right now. Even on video games. :(
August 6, 200916 yr There are no censorship laws pertaining to swearing that I'm aware of, at least in Canada. The entire reason for censoring specific words was just so as not to piss people off. Obviously people don't care about 'harsh' language as much anymore, so that language doesn't need to be censored anymore/as often. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.

August 6, 200916 yr I have noticed this more and more lately. Even on shows like ESPN and some raido shows as well. I guess we are changing generations were saying "Hell" was considered bad. Im actaually glad about this change. Just seemed stupid to here a conversation and then all of a sudden hearing 'BEEP!!!' Was very annoying. August 6, 200916 yr In South Park they said the S word on TV. I loved that episode. Overall, as people have posted, people get lax in their standards. Then tighten back up, then relax em, etc. Yes, you can say a lot more on TV now, but I bet something will happen that causes them to tighten it back up at least a little bit. August 6, 200916 yr Being recently scarred by encyclopedia dramatica, I'm starting to have doubts that uncensoring everything is a good thing...
August 6, 200916 yr Author For some reason in America you can say "God damnit", but the "God" part is censored. Not to be an [wagon]...but did you really just ask why god would be "protected" in America? So, we have a consensus that censorship has slackened(and a lesser consensus that it is a good thing); does anyone know if a law was changed that caused this? Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
August 6, 200916 yr For some reason in America you can say "God damnit", but the "God" part is censored. Not to be an [wagon]...but did you really just ask why god would be "protected" in America? Yes, I did. You can have characters shout "Jesus Christ!" and other stuff like that that would be considered "blasphemous", but you can't say that one thing in particular? Get back here so I can rub your butt.

August 7, 200916 yr Well I live in the UK and the censorship has always been more loose than America and many other countries and I haven't noticed a change here recently so I guess all of you are finally catching up with us! ;-) I believe I saw a German Axe ad where two girls in bikinis started rubbing it all over each other and giggling. Gotta say, I'd love to see more of those in America. :\ So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.
August 7, 200916 yr Ive noticed this too it seems like they can say alot more on family guy. PSN: Skaterguy1224 Tactical Nukes - 22
August 7, 200916 yr I've noticed that as well. I've started to notice that flipping someone off isn't censored, and other words are being uncensored. Go watch old episodes of South Park and then watch the more recent episodes. You'll notice a difference. Just the other day, I saw a TV show and this woman flashed another guy. Her breasts weren't censored at all. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
August 7, 200916 yr Who here has seen the show Weeds? F-bombs and nudity aren't censored which is odd for a TV show in America.
