  • I haven't finished it yet, but started watching Forrest Gump...now I understand the line "Run, Forrest, Run!" at least <_<.

  • I watched Ghostbusters last night. Funny movie for those who haven't seen it.

A Serious Man

It was weird, but kind of funny. Lots of Jewish people jokes.

"He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder."

12 Angry men. Someone on here watched it, so I decided to as well since it is a classic and all. 9.5/10

Babel: Oh wow, guns are terrible things and [bleep] things up. Surprised? 6.5/10

One of the greatest movies of all time

For the past two or so days I've been really wanting to re-watch Congo so my brother and I watched it this morning.. I remember it being a lot better when I saw it in theaters.

When In Rome.

Pretty good, i was half-drunk so i didn't pay 100% attention. I give it 3.5/5.

Here is the text i wrote down during the movie:

[spoiler=Spoil]Started quite good. Easy to get into. Ganz ok Italiano auf die Americano.

Sausage in a bag? Who gives non-cooled sausage away? It should be deliverd iced.

Weird. Girl didn't prosecute the mummy hanging in the ceiling+camera guy for breaking-entering+destroying homeware.

Her assistant has weird eyes.

Hah, quite funny joke "in Italia this is a mid-size car".

Las Vegas guy (without sounding gay) still looks good, just a bit older.

Danny De Vito still haven't lost weight.

While walking to the altar in the last ten minutes, the soundtrack is the same as the same as in the score of Hitman:Blood Money.

Chocolate - I often "acquire" movies without actually buying the disc, but there can be headaches when doing that. For example with foreign language movies you have to worry about having the right audio and subtitles. Sometimes a movie will come dubbed, or sometimes native language but no English subtitles, or subtitles that aren't correct. So I go out of my way more often to actually but foreign language flicks since with the DVDs/blu-rays you know everything will be correct. That is, until this movie. First of all, it defaulted to the absolutely atrocious English dub audio with no subtitles. This is annoying, but not too big of a problem. Just switched it over to native Thai and good to go. Of course I don't speak Thai, so I need to turn on subtitles. Therein lies the problem with this blu-ray, they don't have English subtitles, all they have are English closed captions. They put it under the subtitle menu, but they are most definitely not subtitles. There is no way to get normal English subtitles on this disc, and that is just stupid.

Yeah, that entire review had nothing to do with the movie at all. So I'll toss that in at the end: the movie was awesome.

EDIT: After reading a review on amazon the subtitle problem is only applicable to the blu-ray disc, the DVD has normal English subs as well as the SDH subs.

Saw Inception last night, was really enjoyable.

rosssigfinal.jpg

Saw A-Team earlier, was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

The Last Airbender- Better than I expected, although my expectations weren't exactly high to begin with.

Dinner For Schmucks- This one was hilarious. Steve Carell plays a very convincing idiot.

Get Him to the Greek- This one bored me through the first 40 minutes, and I was tired, so I didn't stick around for the end (it was about 2am, after all).

Watched:

25th Hour: I saw the beginning scene on TV and was hooked but couldn't stay up that late, I had no idea what the title was for a while, I found it and finished it. Pretty average drama, nothing too extreme or tense. Edward Norton was really good in it though. 7/10

Boondock saints 2: All saints day: Pretty much almost exactly like the first one, Kill people for good, detectives help them out. Same camera styles, similar jokes, stuff that made me love the original. Was pretty good. 7.5/10

Seventh Seal: Wow was I disappointed, I thought this might be some masterpiece, overall I was pretty let down. Still good, but not a masterpiece. 6.5/10

You really have to be in the right mood to watch Bergman's movies, it's kind of hard to explain. I was for Seventh Seal and Fanny och Alexander so I loved those, I wasn't for the 5 or 6 others of his I saw so I didn't enjoy them as much.

Watched Dinner For Schmucks today. I didn't really enjoy the first half. But the second half was pretty funny.

6/10 I would say. Easily could have been a lot better.

#1 Wongtong stalker.

Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

I also saw Dinner for Schmucks last night, with my family. It was better than I was expecting, but still wasn't that great. Steve Carell really needs to find a new character to act, not just the brainless idiot with a big heart.

I actually thought the first half of the movie was hilarious, but the second half was filled with too many tasteless sex jokes :l

The big lebowski. Brilliant, but no laugh out loud moments that I thought there would be due to it's reputation.

There weren't too many as far as I can remember, but it's not exactly a laugh-fest type movie either. More of an off the wall comedy.

? Why's that? I cried my eyes out during the finale of the movie. Those big, wet and salty tears running over my cheeks. It's fantastic!

It wasnt even the sex jokes were that funny. I dont remember much specific stuff.

But I do remember me and my friends laughed at completely different times then the rest of the audience. It was awkward.

I was thinking, why doesn't he run off?

Turns out that his dad decided to make him leave, then I'm thinking, why can't they catch him? Why didn't he go to Canada? Plus, 7 years?! Wow.

Just didn't make me sad really.

Well, I mostly only laughed at the mouse stuff, and at Zach Galifianakis's parts. Dunno why but they were the funniest parts of the movie for me :P

Old Boy. At the recommendation of a film geek friend, I decided to watch it. V. sadface-inducing. It's the only proper foreign movie I've watched, and it felt really slow compared to most movies I've seen, but in a good way. I mean, it felt longer than any of the LotR movies, while being at least an hour shorter. I dunno if that's a thing with watching subtitled movies, or if it was just this one, so yeah. I kinda guessed vaguely how things were going to turn out, but the finale... holy [cabbage], it was amazing. Easily one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Also, for anybody who's seen the movie, did your copy have something kinda off with the voices? They seemed kinda echoey and slowed-down, I was wondering if that was just a weird thing with my copy or if it was intended. I kinda enjoyed the effect it had on the movie, though. Probably contributed to the feeling of length, haha.

Spoilers ahead.

Woo-Jin's penthouse. Maaaaan, I was totally preparing myself for a massive fightscene and everything, but... that was something else. ;_;

I had a weird kinda theory for a while that Mr. Han was Woo-Jin's previous 'dog', but then I realised that I had heard him speak only like 10 minutes before and also maybe in the webcam scene. xD And that fact that it pretty much made no sense/had any other connection kinda made me drop it.

And at the end. Did he properly lose his memory or didn't he? I couldn't tell if he was smiling or grimacing, but that was probably intentional. D:

Also, that scene where he pretty much crushes an entire hall+elevator full of men = awesome. The elevator doors opening and the bodies just falling out was hilarious.

Easy 10.
