Thanks to all the action and romances the real message of the movie gets kind of forgotten troughout the movie, and in the end they just add an extra scene to 'make us remember'. No you're not getting away with that, Zwick. Now it wasn't a good movie about the civil war, it was just an action movie I couldn't enjoy (because the real thing) with a nasty moralising taste. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

January 28, 200719 yr Click - Not as good as I thought it was going to be. It was an OK comedy, some good laughs. I heard some really good things from my friends about it, so I guess I was expecting a little more. Groundhog Day - After watching the first part of the movie, I was kind of wondering why it made it in the IMDb Top 250. It was funny, but nothing really struck me as being "great". However, it kept on getting better and better. By the end I could see why it is considered so highly. The storyline kept you interested, and it still kept a good amount of comedic value. Plus I like Bill Murray :D .
January 28, 200719 yr Smokin Aces- I think I just have a soft spot for action movies with great comedic lines because I loved this movie. The storyline was ok, but the way the movie flowed was great. I also noticed that Andy Garcia would drift in and out of a southern accept throughout the movie as if in the middle of production he just decided, I'm going to give my character a southern flair... 8/10

The prospect of watching all six doesn't sound to good though :lol: . The Prestige - A pretty awesome movie, pleasantly surprised with it. It looked good on the previews, and then it turned out to be awesome. A few twists and turns, a solid storyline, Scarlett Johansson in skimpy clothes :P , good acting by all. Christopher Nolan surprised me with Batman Begins, and I thought Memento was awesome, so there is no reason I shouldn't have expected this movie to be anything less that awesome.

February 1, 200719 yr The Astronaut Farmer, starring Billy Bob Thornton. Doesn't come out until February 23rd but I got to see a pre-screening with press and stuff tonight (just at the right place at the right time). I didn't have any expectations as I hadn't heard of it before, but it was a pretty good flick. It's a kind of family comedy/ "follow your dreams" kinda film, got a few smiles and laughs out of me. February 1, 200719 yr Author Rocky Balboa Our hero with the heart of Gold and left of concrete is back. I really enjoyed it, was in cinema with some other fans. We almost had the hall for ourselves, was great fun! Yabu no naka no kuroneko Amazing! A woman and her daughter are being raped and killed by a horde of samourai. After that their house is burned and they make a pact with the 'evil Gods', which means they can stay on earth as 'ghosts' to take vengeance on the samourai. Very well done! Montage during the persuation of the samourai is greatly done, and just when you think the movie is losing it's interest a wonderfully timed and great twist arives in the story, add to that the great score and the amazing effects to really add to a horror atmosphere! February 2, 200719 yr The Quiet Earth - A decent look at post-apocalyptic life, with very few people still alive. Good for me since I like that sort of stuff, might be a little slow for most people though. Great ending. The Evil Dead - First time I have seen this movie. I didn't really know what to expect, I heard pretty good things about it. I knew it was a campy cult-classic movie, but for some reason I didn't expect it to be genuine horror. It was actually pretty scary. I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but this one goes with the few that I make the exception. Evil Dead II - Whereas the first movie was just a horror movie, this one is more of a comedy/action/horror. The continuity from the first movie is lacking, I think I read because of legal reasons. In my opinion the weakest of the three, because it was still trying too hard to be a horror movie. Army of Darkness - This one is mostly just a comedy/action, with a little bit of horror I guess. They didn't put too much emphasis on it like with the second one. Pretty entertaining. The Headsman - A friend said I would enjoy this. I didn't, not all that much. I guess it was an OK movie, didn't keep me all that interested. "American Dad!" season 1 - On Sunday "Family Guy" is on from 9:00 to 9:30, and "Battlestar Galactica" is on from 10:00 to 11:00. That leaves the 9:30 to 10:00 spot open, and "American Dad!" happens to be on at that time. I enjoyed last weeks episode, and one or two other I had seen. I figured I'd go ahead and watch them all and get caught up.
