March 3, 200719 yr Little Miss Sunshine Very good film. I really enjoyed, you immediately sympathise with certain characters and come to dislike others, but the way they change and band together is brilliant and very heartwarming. It was very funny, but in a very realistic sense. Definitely worth a watch. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
March 3, 200719 yr Gwoemul (The Host) Korean, scifi/horror movie. Really impressed, I should watch more Korean horror movies :) Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. March 3, 200719 yr Author A man, I can't wait to watch the host. I missed it on the film festival this year, so I have to wait for a DVD release, or maybe it will be shown in the Schuttershoftheater. But I don't think so. :( I'd love to see it in cinema. Anyway, I saw Nightmare Alley which is a rather unconventional film noir. And it onces more shows the creepyness of a carnival, and that calliope music really helps on that. :P Other than that it's a pretty interesting movie which manages stays up to date sixty years after its release. An interesting watch for the film noir fan that want's to see someting new. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
March 3, 200719 yr well i dont know about you guys but i cant wait to get my hands on the BORAT dvd. i saw the movie in the theater at least hmm, about 1 million times.
March 3, 200719 yr Flags of Our Fathers-I thought this was quite a good movie. After and AMAZING starting action sequence, it pretty much goes into how America treats their 'heroes' and the impacts on them. While it does this well for a while, it tends to beat this over your head for about an hour and a half, so I started to lose interest. But overall, quite solid, worth a watch. Can't wait for Letters from Iwo Jima.
March 3, 200719 yr Well The Host is out on DVD on the 5th which is next monday but Play sent it to me early :D They also sent me Borat and Tremors 1-4, also out on the 5th. :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. March 3, 200719 yr The Conversation - Another good movie by Francis For Coppola. It is a little slow, and it was kind of difficult to stay interested at the beginning. It didn't pick up the pace all that much but it did manage to draw you into the story. Gene Hackman was perfect for the part, and it was cool to see Harrison Ford pre-Star Wars/Indiana Jones. Don't know why, it was just cool. The end part of the movie was a little odd and did require me to check on the internet to make sure I understood it correctly. Overall a pretty good movie. Hauru no ugoku shiro - Howl's Moving Castle is the third Hayao Miyazaki film I've seen, and I liked the other two better. It was pretty good and everything, felt just like his other movies. Something about the story just didn't seem as good to me. Maybe I was expecting way too much, since the other two are some of my favourite animated films.
March 3, 200719 yr Went to see Hot Fuzz last night.... man that's some funny stuff. When Simon Pegg kicks that old lady in the face... man, thought I was gonna fall off my chair! Definately one of the funnies movies I've seen in a long time.
March 3, 200719 yr yeah I saw Hot Fuzz on Wednesday, loved it :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. March 3, 200719 yr I recently saw Amazing Grace. It had a different feel to it than most movies made recently. I enjoyed it. I also watched Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow... it had parts that were cool and parts that were way overdone and cheesy. It was a renter... good thing I rented it. :P
March 4, 200719 yr Reno 911! : Miami- was crazy bored yesterday so I called up some friends and chose a movie(was between the number 23 and Reno since someone spoiled the number 23 for me ) was ok for a comedy, got a bunch of laughts :)
March 4, 200719 yr Stand by Me - The ultimate childhood best friends on an adventure movie. It would be awesome even if it didn't have a lot of actors I liked. Wil Wheaton (who was awesome), Kiefer Sutherland, and John Cusack were all young when they did this, which was kind of cool. The four friends were all pretty good actors, usually actor kids their age are annoying. Just a really feel good movie. Dog Day Afternoon - While it was a pretty good movie, decent story and everything, it didn't appeal all that much to me. Everything was from Al Pacino's view, and he was the one holding the hostages. For the most part that wasn't bad, I can deal with movies in which the bad guys are the main characters, and the movie makes you feel for them. There were a few times where it just went overboard I thought, the crowd cheering for him, the hostages playing games with him. It's based on a true story so maybe that's how it really happened, I don't know. SmultronstÃÆÃâÃâället - Wild Strawberries is the fifth Ingmar Bergman film I've seen. Everyone I watch is my new favourite of his. This one I think I liked best because of the main theme of it, an old man exploring the purpose of his life. Victor SjÃÆÃâÃâöstrÃÆÃâÃâöm did great in his part, and everyone else did good too. The dream sequences were very interesting. I'll have to watch this movie again with correctly working subtitles, the ones I had were about 10 seconds off at the beginning, and 2 minutes off by the end. After the first minute or two I just went ahead and did it manually via notepad, I could get kind of lost during the long speeches.
March 4, 200719 yr I watched Babel. For the most part it was good, with occassional periods of excellence. Easily the best story cycle, the one involving Rinko Kikuchi (had to look that one up : ), is probably the one that's going to stick with me the most. The acting was absolutely superb in that story stream. In fact, all the acting in the movie was quite exceptional. It was sort of sloppily told story-wise, unrealistic to say the least. However, it was still quite a good film overall.
March 4, 200719 yr The Sentinel Although not an especially clever "thriller", I did enjoy it over my dinner. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
March 4, 200719 yr Tremors, Tremors II and Tremors 3 Gonna watch 4 after Lost tonight :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. March 5, 200719 yr Reno 911!: The Movie Not as good as the series, but it had some good parts. ANOTHER QUALITY POST BY JAKE. :funone: jake on last.fm
March 5, 200719 yr Author Eternal Sunshine - what a letdown. I tried watching this with the gf last night. After all the stuff I've heard about, we stopped near the end because it just got really boring. I'd rather take another hour of the Notebook than this crap. No. C'era una volta il west 10/10 Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
March 5, 200719 yr :o I loved eternal sunshine! p.s watched Tremors 4: The Legend Begins last night too ^_^ Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. March 6, 200719 yr I wasn't amazed at Eternal Sunshine either, that was a while ago though. I should try it out again. Unendliche Geschichte, Die - The NeverEnding Story. Apparently it's German. Anyways, it can best be summed up as: massive lulz.
March 6, 200719 yr In my country we say that to let a woman be a journalist is like letting a monkey fly a plane. A very very dangerous. ^_^ Watched Borat last night. March 6, 200719 yr Duck Soup by the Marx brothers. I try to get and see as many of old(er) films as I can; this was my first Marx Bros experience. I was a bit weirded out, you really do need to be in a slapstick kind of mood, but I really liked the way they took a go at dictatorship/government. The mirror scene is both very famous and very hilarious. Arsenic and old lace is how I like my comedies. Black as death. Supurb! CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGEEE! That. Film. Rocks. Major. I must have seen it 10+ times by now and it still has me in stitches every time I watch it. It has me in stitches now just thinking about it. Cary Grant at his best...
