February 23, 200719 yr The Crying Game - I knid of enjoyed it, the start was very good and towards the end it got very good again however during the middle it was just a lot of talk which didn't establish the characters too me. The twist i had expected aswell, and so it didn't shock me that much but i did enjoy it quite a lot. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
February 24, 200719 yr Play It Again Sam - This was hilarious, I'm not usually much of a Woody Allen fan but i really enjoyed this. It's about Allan (Played by Woody Allen) who has just seperated from his wife. He plays the usualy neurotic character, yet this time he is hopelessly trying to find a new woman with the help of his friend Linda (Diane Keaton - Who starred with Allen in Manhattan and was Michael Coreleone's wife Kay in The Godfather). You may wonder about the title, Allan is a massive movie buff and loves Casablanca. He see's visions of Humphrey Bogart telling him how to do things with these girls, throughout we get nice lines from Casablanca that Allan tries to use to sound cool. Allan eventually falls in love with Linda who is married to his best friend, cue an ending that mirrors that of Casablanca. It's hilarious and fun to watch for Casablanca fans. February 24, 200719 yr I watched The Departed. Quite impressive I'd say, really very exciting and intruiging. With next to no action, it's essentially all writing, and it's extremely well done. Pretty good direction (not Scorceses best by a long shot, but still good), and overall just a very impressive film. Only number 2 of the 5 best picture nominees, so I couldn't guess where it stands. I like how I never get to see the years high quality movies until a few months after the year ends, when they all come to DVD. I don't really go to the cinema, so I constantly talk of how bad the year was in movies until about February/March/April when I actually see all the good ones. Can't wait to watch The Prestige/Flags of Our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima/Babel and so forth.
February 24, 200719 yr Still didn't receive my copy of SamouraÃÆÃâÃâï, Le yet, hopefully I'll get it tomorrow. "Dark Angel" - Watched both seasons, this is the second time through. Much like the first time through I noticed it steadily gets worse as it goes on. But this time I was expecting that, so it didn't seem quite as bad. The last episode was still disappointing to say the least. EDIT: Watched a few today :D Shadow of a Doubt - Another good Alfred Hitchcock movie, just like the 20 or so others of his I've seen. It's a little slower than some of the others, it takes it's time before it starts to get suspenseful. It would be liked by Alfred Hitchcock fans, but others may not. V for Vendetta - Very entertaining, as always. SamouraÃÆÃâÃâï, Le - Yep, I got it today. This movie was fantastic. I started it with pretty high expectations, and it didn't let me down. It "fulfilled my expectations" in a different way than I thought it would though. I had LÃÆÃâÃâéon in my mind, which has action much of the time. While there is action in this movie, it isn't the reason I liked it so much. The setting, the main character, the usage of color, the sound, and the story all give you this epic feeling of "cool." I mean it really gives you that feeling. The main character played by Alain Delon couldn't have done a better job. He played his part perfectly cool. All the characters gave off the feeling, but he really did. Everybody in the film gives off the feeling of professionalism. Theres not much dialog, everyone only says what needs to be said. The film is in color but you really get the feeling like it's on the edge of being black and white, just because their aren't many warm colors. A good movie, and looking back on it a good ending. While watching it the end seemed to come kind of sudden, but after thinking about it for a while it ended just like it should have.
February 26, 200719 yr Author Before the Oscars last night, me and my friends went out to dinner, and after that we decided to see a movie and that movie was Dreamgirls, I wasn't really looking forward to it, because I don't really like modern musicals. But I have to say, that it was pretty good. And that's all due to the fantastic songs in this movie. Also a well deserved Oscar for Jennifer Hudson! Great preformance! But I have to say, that it was pretty good. And that's all due to the fantastic songs in this movie. Also a well deserved Oscar for Jennifer Hudson! Great preformance! Much to my surprise I really enjoyed the song they performed at the Oscars. BeyoncÃÆÃâÃâé Knowles is damn hot too :D . Stranger Than Fiction - It was actually kind of disappointing. I thought it would be really good, but it just turned out to be average. Babel - I was disappointed in this movie also. It was just like the other two Alejandro GonzÃÆÃâÃâález IÃÆÃâÃâñÃÆÃâÃâárritu movies I've seen. A few stories, interconnected by an accident. Babel had a few interesting parts, but really it wasn't anything special. The Japanese part of the story was just barely related to the other three parts, so that made that whole story line pretty pointless. Life of Brian - Felt like watching it after seeing the topic in OT. Maybe my favourite Monty Python movie, it's definitely pretty funny. Vanilla Sky - The first time I watched this movie I was pretty happy with it, thought it was great. For some reason this time I thought it was freaking awesome. Loved absolutely every minute of it.
February 27, 200719 yr I watched A Man Apart. My brother told me it was good. Not really. Generic, predictable. It's the kind of thing I would watch to pass time, but since I'm strapped for time as is it was essentially not time well spent. It wasn't a bad movie, but there's nothing here I haven't seen in a dozen other, better movies.
February 27, 200719 yr the Benchwarmers It was okay and pretty funny. i liked it. pixel sig and avatar by me.
February 27, 200719 yr To the above posters. No, haven't seen Bringing up Baby yet, but it's on my wishlist for my next order at Amazon. I really like the genre, so I'm guessing I'll like it... We'll see. How2Pk, I'm suprised you didn't think Roma as good as the other Fellini's. That scene from your pic (the Roman fresco's fading away as they come in contact with the air) is probably the most powerful Fellini scene I have seen so far. It's the one I remember best from all his films in any case. I've just seen Le M̮̩̉̉pris. I'm sort of on the fence, but merely the fact that Fritz Lang (<3:) played himself made me love it already - and he really did get the best lines. I also liked it from a "hey, those are some very cool 60's designs" perspective - not very intellectual, I know. As an ex-student in Greek literature, I was impressed with the analogy with and the take on Ulysses though. Bardot's sneaky looks and pouts hit the mark, but overall, even though I can see why it's an important film for cinematic history, I doubt it'll become a real favourite of mine.
February 27, 200719 yr Stranger than Fiction, Will Ferrel doing what he do best. :D http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=525348 - My Pking Gallery I'M BACK FOR SUMMER BABY

That scene from your pic (the Roman fresco's fading away as they come in contact with the air) is probably the most powerful Fellini scene I have seen so far. It's the one I remember best from all his films in any case. Well, I think it's pretty good. And the scene you are talking about is indeed very good. But there were parts that I thought were less good (first meal scene outside and theater scene for example). And when I compare this with his earlier work, I just don't like it as much. In my eyes of course. I don't think that the better works of his later career (Roma, Amarcord, Satyricon) can compete with early (I Vitteloni, La Stada, Nota Cabiria) and mid (La Dolce Vita, 8 1/2). I like him best in his mid period (especially 8 1/2), but around Satyricon, perhaps even Gielietta degli Spriti, he kind of lost me. He went further down the path he took with Otto e Mezzo, and in my eyes a bit too far. Maybe be the change from black and white to color photography didn't help either. Still they're outstanding movies of course. :) Yesterday I saw Capote and I thought it was really good. And I'm still kind of puzzled on Hoffman's preformance, damn, it really was that good. February 28, 200719 yr Author Any way the wind blows - The somewhat amibtious debute movie of Belgian rocker Tom Barman (from dEUS!). I had seen it a year or three ago in cinema, and I thought it wasn't that good at the time, but still enjoyable. And I decided to give it another chance, and I can't say it changed much. It's enjoyable, there some great characters, but a lot of annoying ones as well. And overall the entire thing is just a messy combination of different kind of styles. He gets away with it though. 6.5/10 Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
March 1, 200719 yr Author Arsenic and old lace is how I like my comedies. Black as death. Supurb! CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGEEE! Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

March 1, 200719 yr Hot Fuzz followed by Temors. I love Simon Pegg, I was in hytsterics in the cinema :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/12
March 1, 200719 yr Arsenic and old lace is how I like my comedies. Black as death. Supurb! CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGEEE! Hahah, I thought I was the only person who saw (and liked) that movie. No one else seemed to have heard of it :P. Anyway, I saw an awesome movie, Total Eclipse ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114702/ ). About the very controversial relationship between Rimbaud and Verlaine, two famous poets. Leonardo di Caprio is surprisingly good. And David Thewlis (Sirius from Harry Potter \o/) was a pleasant surprise. It was funny in parts, ridiculous and basically very sad. Like life! And well, it kind of helps if you read some stuff about and by these two guys. But even if you didn't, the movie is so well made and acted, you're gonna get caught up into it all the same. "Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. It is about invoking a sense of wonder and magnitude that no other genre can depict."
March 1, 200719 yr Hahah, I thought I was the only person who saw (and liked) that movie. No one else seemed to have heard of it :P. No movie that makes it on the Top 250 on IMDb can be considered obscure :D .
March 3, 200719 yr Ben-Hur - It was a little long, but was fairly interesting the whole time. Probably not a movie I will want to watch again, while the story was interesting the first time I don't see it being all that great a second time around. Mononoke-hime - Can never decide whether this is my favourite Miyazaki or Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi. Both are really great, I need to check out more of his work. Casino Royale - Quite possibly my favourite Bond film yet. Sure it wasn't quite as action packed as all the others, and not many nifty gadgets, but it still felt like a Bond movie. Taxi Driver - I remember enjoying this movie the first way through, but mostly really liking the end. This time through I enjoyed it all a lot more, the ending about the same. Really was drawn into De Niro's character this time, he did an awesome job. Grandma's Boy - One of those comedies that some will hate, some will like. It was actually pretty stupid and bad at times, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Dawn of the Dead - The 2004 version. A zombie movie doing exactly what it is supposed to do, and doing it pretty well. The Straight Story - Much, much less odd than the other David Lynch movies I've seen. But it is still a David Lynch movie though, so it does have some oddness to it. Overall a pretty good movie, Richard Farnsworth did a tremendous job. Dawn of the Dead - The original 1978 version. At first I didn't think I was going to like it as much. The first part of the movie dealt with deciding whether or not the undead were still human or not, and while it seemed obvious to me at the time, after that part was over I started to think about it and it was a fairly interesting point. Overall I may like it more than the new version, I think if I watched this one first I definitely would have liked it better. Kind Hearts and Coronets - Wow, this movie is great. Alec Guinness playing eight different parts was awesome enough, Dennis Price did great also. The story overall was awesome, although the ending I thought was a little abrupt. The Departed - Great cast, great story, great directing, everything about this movie is great. Must see. Brick - The first time I watched this I thought it was freaking awesome, this time I enjoyed it but I guess since I knew the story it wasn't quite as amazing. It's definitely worth a watch, it is really interesting.
March 3, 200719 yr The Phantom, i only love this because i love the comics OT: Luring is sooo easy to avoid. That's what those nice signposts are for.
