What movie(s) did you last see?

Featured Replies

Batoru rowaiaru - Battle Royale is a very, very odd movie. It is also very, very awesome. One thing a little different than other movies is the way people die. In regular movies one bullet and the bad guy is down, sometimes a punch will get rid of a generic henchmen. In this movie bullets seem to have very little effect, you can get shot multiple times right in the chest and be OK for a while. Anyways, it's a pretty entertaining movie.

The Boondock Saints - This movie is just completely awesome. One of my favourites.

Airplane! - Heard really good things about this movie. That is why at the beginning I was pretty disappointed, it didn't seem like it was going to be all that good. Took a little longer to pull me in than I would have liked, but it did and that's what matters. A pretty funny comedy.

Airplane II: The Sequel - After watching the first one and being pretty happy with it, I half expected this one to be good also. The other half thought that making a sequel of the first one would go horribly wrong. Well, it turned out OK. Not as good as the first one, but still had some pretty funny moments. They brought the majority of the people from the first movie back, and that definitely helped.

Wo hu cang long - I remember seeing commercials for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon back when it was in theaters. I remember seeing people flying around and thinking it would be pretty stupid. It wasn't stupid, that is for sure. I really enjoyed this movie. A good amount of action, a decent storyline. Not a particularly "wowing" storyline, you could tell most of the stuff was coming. The sword fights were amazing of course. Also Ziyi Zhang is pretty damn hot, and that always helps things out  .

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Only seen two Guy Ritchie films, and both have been great. The storyline was pretty awesome, I love how everything comes together at the end in a complicated yet simple fashion. Great movie.

I watched Anchorman earlier. I didn't laugh once :| I laughed more when watching Taladega Nights. Oh yeah, saw Departed recently as well. Great movie.

I agree. That movie sucked horribly. :|

I last watched - Open Season - it's a cartoon, it was kinda' funny.

Before that - Lucky Number Slevin - it was alright, had a pretty good ending.

Fun with paint.

Drink night cough medicine, take pills for sleeping, or just start playing with your Pokeman balls! In your Gameboy SP that is. =P~

Pursuit of Happyness- average

"The Class" - After the first episode I was thinking that I wasn't going to watch the rest. I thought it would be pretty lame. After the second episode, I didn't feel quite as badly, but still didn't know how it would turn out. Now that I am up to date (episode 14, 15 comes on tomorrow) I am pretty happy with it. Not the greatest show in the world, but good enough to watch.

Dune - The David Lynch movie based on Frank Herbert's book. I thought it was pretty good, that may be skewed because I could understand what was going on. When I read the book (and a few sequels) I could never keep everything in order, I was confused the whole time. Granted I was around 9 at the time, maybe I'd do better with them now. Anyways, loved the movie, and loved the soundtrack. I need to find it on CD somewhere.

Jean De Flourette - powerful and emotional. I will watch it's sequal (which is supposed to be better) tommorow.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Duel was really, really good. Especially for a T.V. movie. But hey, it's Spielberg. :P

Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures - The Documentary itself isn't really all that interesting. Most of the info is already known among the Kubrick fans (and a big part for non-kubrick fans as well). But it was a great watch nontheless. Kubrick for me is a very important man, he changed my look on the world. Not how I'm looking at things from let's say, a political stance. But from the way how you just look at things; lights reflecting in water etc. that kind of stuff. He basically gave me a new pair of eyes. So it's a pleasure only to see this man on his sets, hear him talk, see him with family and just the fact that they made a movie just to praise him.

That came in my Stanley Kubrick Collection. I guess I should watch it sometime :D .

Ed Wood - Kind of slow, but kept me interested enough to continue watching. Not my favourite Tim Burton movie, not because it was bad, but because it wasn't interesting too me. Some people will like it, others wont.

Die Hard - For an action movie it is pretty good. The storyline is pretty straight forward, nothing is particularly outstanding. Altogether though it makes a pretty entertaining movie. I'm going to watch the sequels next, I hope I wont be disappointed.

Dreamgirls. It was actually really good, if my friend hadn't blown her nose and bounced up and down in her seat the whole time... :wall:

:( Go see Life in Pictures. It's worth it! Although all the info was old to me, I wasn't bored at all! Too bad you didn't like Ed Wood. I thought it was so funny! The parts where Lugosi is talking 'bad' about Karloff. Amazing! :D

Manon De Sources - Great ending to it's prequel Manon De Sources. Acting from Daniel Auteuil (Who's most recent big hit was Cache) was great aswell as Yves Montand who is preferct for the role. The final scenes show was he is so perfect, as a lonley depressed old man who is left with nothing. I was suprised it was a PG i mean there was naked dancing from Emmanuel Beart who is beautiful in this, and still is attractive now. As well Ugolin (Auteuil) graphically sewing a ribbon into his skin!

Based on the Marcel Pagnol book it's basically about a man who needs to water his flowers in the hills of south france. The first film is about Jean Flourette (a hunchback) who moves in to a small farm house with big ideas. Unknowing to him Ugolin with the help of his uncle Cesar (Montand) needs the land Jean is using to start is flower venture. And so they block out water spring on the land in an attempt to drive him out so they can buy it for cheap.

The second film focus' on Jeans daughter who takes revenge on Ugolin, Cesar and the town for not telling about the spring that Cesar and Ugolin blocked up.

In all a very moving film about greed, sorrow, mistakes and human nature.

Die Hard 2 - Whereas Die Hard was much better than a generic action flick, yet still generic, this one was just an average generic action flick. Not bad, nothing special.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance - Still not as good as the original, but better than the second. Generic action, pretty intense. It seems like everything moves very quickly.

Nuovo cinema Paradiso - This movie was awesome, I loved it. Shows all three stages of the main characters life, and really draws you in. I was really feeling it there at the end with the Cinema Paradiso.

Heat - I am pretty sure I have seen this movie before. Throughout half the movie I had intense feelings of deja vu, like I have seen something like it before, but I didn't have the feeling that I have seen it before. That doesn't make sense, but that's how I felt. Anyways, I remembered the last 20 minutes in a non-deja vu way, so I am pretty sure I had seen it. Anyways, it was a pretty good crime movie. I like how they give both prospectives equal value, the good and the bad. Like a lot of them they do try to make you feel for the bad guy, but I don't let that get in the way of liking it.

I had a great night yesterday starting You, me and Dupree which was really good, especially because it starred my favorite actor of all time: Owen Wilson! Man, I love that guy. After that it was time for the incredibly lame but oh so hilarious BEERFEST hahaha, Beer, Germans, Bradwursten und lederhosen! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! :D :D :D

I started to watch 16 Blocks but I found that it just jumped straight into the story way too fast, so I quit and went to sleep after ~1/2 hour

and I guess coincidentally I started ~20 minutes late but watched the rest of Sixteen Candles which was good

Owen Wilson! Man, I love that guy.

Yeah, Owen Wilson is the man.

I never did understand the whole falling asleep during a movie thing. No matter how bad the movie is there is usually at least a little bit to keep you going.

Vita ̮̬̉̉ bella, La - I absolutely loved this movie. It may even make it's way into my top 10. I almost cried at the end it was so great.

Gattaca - It was on a list of movies that every geek should see, so I had to see it. There are a few more on there that I haven't watched yet either, lets hope they are as entertaining as this one. Interesting story mostly, not really action packed or anything. SciFi fans will like it.

Which one is that about? It is hard to keep track of what happens when. They all kind of start to melt together lol.

Speaking of "24":

Dark City - Jack Bauer (real name Kiefer Sutherland I guess) is in this movie. In this movie, he also says his two favourite lines from 24: "We're running out of time!" "You're going to have to trust me". That made this movie go from a pretty damned awesome movie to a freaking awesome movie. Once again this movie was on the "geek movie" list, and I guess I can see why. It won't be for everyone. Just seeing Jack Bauer say those two lines make this movie a must see for any hardcore "24" fan.

Yes, I will always refer to Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. Sure he has played in many other things, but that doesn't matter.

Also for the "Lost" fans out there it starts up again tonight at 10:00 EST, and will go for 16 weeks straight.

Finally! My hard semmester is over, and now I have a less, easier classes, and I'm cutting back on my employment hours aswell. So I can watch movies again!

Kill Bill Vol. 1-I liked this movie pretty good. It was so stylish and unorthodox, made it pretty interesting to me. The thing I found most interesting was how mysterious everything and everyone was, really makes you want to keep watching. That being said, this is only a good movie, and doesn't near Pulp Fiction or even Reservoir Dogs. But still very good. And the ending is awesome!!!

Kill Bill Vol. 2.-I liked it, but not as much as the first one. In fact, I was having some trouble keeping my eyes open. But it was still pretty good, it just seemed like Kill Bill 1 lite...It did basically the same thing, but not as well. It was more dramatic, sure, and it tied it up pretty well, it just wasn't as interesting to me.

There, 2 movies off my too-see list.

I enjoyed Vol. 1 more than Vol. 2 also. There is a version out on the net that I think is called "Kill Bill Vol. X" that takes every scene from both movies and puts them in chronological order. I think that would be around half the scenes from Vol 2, Vol 1, then the other half of Vol 2 (not big blocks of course, and some discrepancies). I think that would be pretty interesting. Oh and yes, the the ending to Vol. 1 is awesome :) .

Oh, and since you are watching movies again, check out Oldboy. If you liked Kill Bill a lot you will definitely like it.

The Painted Veil - Edward Norton and Naomi Watts. That's why I was really excited about this, one of my favourite actors and one of my favourite actresses. The story looked OK, so I went for it. Turned out to be decent, nothing great. Seemed like it was kind of haphazard at the end. Like the first hour and twenty minutes there is the basic storyline, which then comes to the resolution. Then the last half hour consists of one or two mini filler stories before the ending. If they cut about fifteen to twenty minutes out of that part, I think it would have been much better. I just figured out it is based on a book, so I don't know how that went in there. I wouldn't go out of your way to see this, but it's a good movie.

Nah I didn't fall asleep during it, I turned off the tv then fell asleep. The only time I've fallen asleep during a movie was because I turn around and blocked out the light with a pillow.

But I do have a friend who has decided to fall asleep in several movies I've gone to see with him(ones in theaters)...

ghostbusters 2

fly boys

kelly's heros

event horizon

those 4 in the past week

Damn Indy, I don't think I could ever watch 4 movies in one day.

Well I felt like relaxing after working out in the snow and cold all day. Plus, I have no life so I have plenty of time. Also I can multi-task, right now I am watching a movie (which I will be posting shortly once I am finished). Actually today I have only watched Dark City and The Painted Veil, the other ones were yesterday.
