Mr_Putter
Little Miss Sunshine - Wow! This may be one of the best comedies I've ever seen. So clever, so real, but at the same time so outlandish that it makes it even more fun to watch. The actors play the characters so well, and you can see little bits of people you know in the characters on screen, if you follow. It's so awkward and darkly humorous, but is essentially a feel-good comedy. It's really funny, and even though you may find more big laughs in a Will Ferrell movie, I can tell you he has never done anything of this quality. You'll smile the whole way through, and laugh hysterically often. I've decided I don't really like those stupid mainstreamy comedies anymore. This has gained a lot of hype, so has sort of worked it's way into the peripheral vision of the mainstream, but remains it's charm as it was made so under the radar. Easily the years best comedy. indy500fan
"24" season 4 - Like I said above, season 4 wasn't off to a good start. It bottomed out around episode 8 or so, when the only other character except for Jack left. Then stuff started to come back around. They brought back Tony, and that was the moment it started to get really good. Then they started bringing back others. They finished one of their completely useless story lines, with the Director's crazy daughter, and that was good to get out of the way. They finished up the undercover spy portion they seem to have to have in every season, and that was also good to get out of the way. It just kept getting better and better, and finished decently. I kind of knew the end because of seeing spoilers, so that wasn't as surprising as it should have been. Overall, it might be my favourite season. No Elisha Cuthbert though, and that is a negative. How2PK
I heard season five was best of all seasons, Indy. :P I'm almost done with Prison Break season one. It's a little bit strange. How2PK
Stop Making Sense - The legendary concert registration by Jonathan Demme, from the usedtobefamousbutarekindofforgottennow band TALKING HEADS. It starts with the same titles used in Dr. Strangelove, and the camera slowly moves backwards, someone is walking up the stage, towards the mic. He puts down a tape player. "I've got a tape I want to play", camera moves away and we see its David Byrne in a way too large suit and Psycho Killer starts playing. After Psycho Killer the stage is slowly build up with each track extra musicians coming on to stage. And the party slowly starts. Demme steals the show directing this movie using an unconventional style of registration; especially the long and calm way of shooting. It is typical, because the opening, as well as later scenes in the film show that the video-registration is of the same level of importance as the music; the image isnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t in service of the audio, nor is it the other way around. Both art-forms are equal. This is, unfortunately, still rarely used in concert registrations (you can see it again in DemmeÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s registration of Neil YoungÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Heart of Gold, which got released on DVD last month! A recommendation as well). And Byrne is just amazing. With all his energy, running around the stage, doing his really weird dances. And that's where the power lies; It's the combination of Demme's calm directing (camera operated by Jorden Cronenweth) and Byrne's energetic stage performance (at least, thatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s how it is for me). It's a combination of two opposites that you see more often in the registration. For example the really great combination of these dark songs brought with so much humour. All in all this is a concert movie that every music lover should own, and is up there with legendary live recordings such as The Last Waltz, Rust Never Sleeps and Made in Japan. indy500fan
I heard season five was best of all seasons, Indy. :P I'm almost done with Prison Break season one. It's a little bit strange. But it's alright. Season four ended kind of oddly, made me worry about season five. But if it's supposed to be the best one, that will be great. I've heard mixed reviews about Prison Break. The general story doesn't make it seem like there can be all that much too it. Little Miss Sunshine - I've heard very good reviews about this movie, and it even made it in the IMDb top 250. So after I finished watching it, I was a little disappointed. It was a pretty good comedy, but it just didn't meet my expectations. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, it is enjoyable. There were parts that were funny, but there were also parts that were just kind of stupid. Snakes on a Plane - I feel almost exactly the same with this movie as with the last, I expected it to be better. I know it was trying to pull of a campy "B" movie feel, and it kind of did, but it just could have been better.

I'm not really a fan of the series, but I was quite pleasantly surprised by the third.

Faux
Watched Blood Diamond earlier. Hollywood needs more preachy movies like it. I didn't really know most things like that happening in Africa  Goes to show how I'm still ignorant about most glbal issues :| It was decent anyway. Djimon kinda reminds me of a guy that goes in my high school. Oh, and Jennifer Connelly was so damn fine in the movie. I saw the first Mission Impossible on Christmas. It's just that the stupid things Cruise has been doing kinda affected the people's perception of it Yep, a lot of people don't like Tom Cruise. Personally I don't mind him, I don't think he is a great actor but he is good enough. Really it's just that I enjoy almost every single one of his movies, I own thirteen of them right now. That's more than any other actor/actress right now. And yes, Jennifer Connelly is pretty hot, and she is a decent actress. She made my top 3 in the favourite actor/actress thread that was up here a while back. "24" season 5 - Daan mentioned earlier that he heard season 5 was the best. It turns out he was right :P . Besides for season one, this is the only season that didn't have a completely useless side story by one of the characters. Plus, we got to see Elisha Cuthbert for a while, and that is definitely a plus. The season also ended awesomely. Can't wait for season 6, the prequel looked pretty awesome. "Family Guy" season 1 - You all know about Family Guy, so I'll keep this brief. I like it, a lot. Not my favourite cartoon, but pretty damn funny. A Scanner Darkly - Always been a fan of movies based on Philip K. Dick novels, and this was no exception. Of course I am just basing that assumption on two other movies (that I can think of off the top of my head).

indy500fan
"Family Guy" season 2 - A few times I was laughing so hard my family heard me all the way upstairs. With the way my house is set up, that is quite a feat :P . Children of Men - I really wanted to see this, but really didn't know all that much about it. It is in the post-apocalyptic totalitarian government setting, and I love that. This movie turned out to be better than I thought it would be. The long shots were amazing, although I heard they were pieced together digitally just to make it look long. Some other people said they weren't, so I don't know. Still, they were awesome. Another thing I really noticed was the soundtrack. It was very unobtrusive. Not like most movies where the sound is basically telling you how you feel. They didn't do anything crazy like putting happy music when someone was dying, it just wasn't in your face sad music when someone was dying. Overall a great movie.
