April 10, 200719 yr From Dusk Till Dawn- Was ok, not sure what I expected but it was a lot less entertaining than I had hoped The 40 Year Old Virgin- funny, reminded me a lot of Little Miss Sunshine in the humor style except that I liked Little Miss Sunshine more
April 10, 200719 yr Author Yay, at the sneak I didn't get Employe of the Month, but Shooter (2007 - Antoine Fuqua) which wasn't bad at all. It had some minor flaws, but I had a good time watching it. And my blatter survived the length of two hours as well. Whcih is always a plus. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
April 10, 200719 yr Turistas: Horrible, horrible excuse for a movie. Paid 5 bucks just for some T-n-A with some scenes I could have watched on Discovery Health. Gamertag: King Arizona
April 11, 200719 yr Author A Prairie Home Companion (2006 - Robert altman) - I'm very happy that I could catch the last show in cinema yesterday. It's Altman's last film before he died. And I don't think he could've made a better last film than this one. :) The movie is about the radio-show with the same name. A Prairie Home Companion has been running for years, and suddendly it has to quit, and as an extra surprise: this is the last show. Altman's 'floating' camere perfectly creates the backstage feeling that this movie needs. The All-Star cast is delivering, and finally noone can say Lindsay Lohan is a 'bad' actress (She never was, actually she's very talented, but nobody wants to admitt that because it's Lindsay). The movie is full of nostalghia, and that's not only to be seen in songs, but also in characters as the cowboys Dusty & Lefty and Detective Guy Noir, which both mark a very important period in American cinema (40s and 50s). And then there's the fantastic songs, with my personal favorites the "Bad Jokes" song and Lohan's version of the classic song "Frankie & Johnny". Go see it, it's fantastic! Afer this movie I went home with my mate and we saw The Secret Life of Words on DVD. Which was quite impressive as well. It's a quiet and dark movie which deals about a traumatized and deaf woman who works in a factory. She is forced to go on vacation and she goes to a place somewhere in Britain, when she arrives she hears a man talk about a drilling island (you know, for oil) and that they need a nurse. The woman volunteers and comes to the Island to find Tim Robins in bed, with burning wounds. The woman is very silent and hardly speaks. But while the movie goes on she slowly opens up. It's a great movie, solid directing and some great shots, but the actors steal the show. Tim Robins is good, but Sarah Polly is fantastic (I think my friend is right when he told me she is the best actress of her generation), her over 10 minute monologue really blew me away. I was stuck on the screen all the time without blinking an eye. Also recommended, and a must-see for fans of real acting movies! April 11, 200719 yr 300 - Great movie. Really good work. It's got it all death, fighting and boobs. Well done. I spell awards flooding in for 300.

April 12, 200719 yr I just saw the Passion of the Christ. I was expecting it to be as violent as it was and that didn't disturb me at all. What did freak me out a bit though was [hide=Spoilers]The scenes with Judas and the demons. I just wasn't expecting to have a devil jumping out of the dark or blood pouring from the mouths of devil-children. That aspect of the film was a little too horror story and not enough re-telling the story of Jesus. The story wasn't eye opening for me as a Christian and I expected as much. I'm a very liberal Christian and this all seemed a bit old fashioned. [/hide] 6/10 Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!
April 12, 200719 yr I'm going to see Curse of the Golden Flower on Friday night.... will let you all know how it was when I get back lol ;)

April 13, 200719 yr I'm going to see Curse of the Golden Flower on Friday night.... will let you all know how it was when I get back lol ;) Didn't that just come out on DVD? I thought I saw a commercial for it. I haven't watched any movies lately, but I am going to go see Grindhouse again tomorrow :P .
April 15, 200719 yr blades of glory That was probably one of the funniest movies ever. But don't get me wrong. It sucked. It was probably like the worst movie ever, no plot, no substance, no nothing. But still very hilarious at the same time.
April 15, 200719 yr Disturbia - It was a good movie, I enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed, though. All and all, it was good fun. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
April 15, 200719 yr i saw Underworld Evolution last night which was ok and earlier this week i saw 300 which was awesome, best movie ive seen in awhile thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig
April 15, 200719 yr I watched Back to the Future III last night on ITV 2. I love it so much even though it's 20 years old. I was going to see 300 with my mates but they couldn't make it. :( My legions of fans:
April 15, 200719 yr Curse of the Golden Flower.... pretty good, not the best Chinese movie I've ever seen, but still ok. Very pretty and colourful, but I'm not that sure what the point was. Many would complain that it was too slow, but for me that was part of the charm. The imagery was amazing and the combat sequencies were very cool. I'd give it 6/10. Going to see the Shooter tomorrow... Mark Walberg. :)

April 16, 200719 yr I recently watched "Audition". It's a Japanese movie that starts off looking like a typical romantic drama about the loneliness of a middle-aged widow, but takes a HARD left through "Fatal Attraction"-Land around the halfway mark. The last fifteen minutes are not for the faint of heart. "I reject your reality, and substitute my own!"

The last fifteen minutes are not for the faint of heart. Yeah, the old "chop off a foot with some piano wire" trick... gotta love that one ;) Anyway, just got back from The Shooter with Mark Walberg. Quite enjoyed it actually. Stupid and OTT at points, but still a fun movie. 6/10
April 17, 200719 yr Author Woman of the Year (1942 - George Stevens) - Rrrrrrrrrrrrr, I'm in love with the fourties at the moment, and this movie isn't an exception. This is the first of nine pairings between Tracy and Hepburn and woah, what a chemestry between those two! Incredible. The movie is about Sam and Tess, collgues at the New York Chronicle. He's a bit of an 'ordinary' but fast mouthed Sports reporter, and she's a snobish reporter who covers world politics. The learn to 'know' eachother trough a newspaper war, but eventuelly end up liking eachother. The movie has got a great combination of comedy and especially drama, openly questioning the values of marriage. Which was a really daring thing to do in those days. And of course it wasn't all bad. Most parts were hilarious, take the scene where Hepburn is having a speech for the feminists, and Tracy comes in unexpected. And he's the only male in the audience, and he's sitting on stage as well. And of course the classic breakfast scene at the end. I nearly wet my pants with those waffles! Recommended! April 17, 200719 yr This is the first of nine pairings between Tracy and Hepburn and woah, what a chemestry between those two! No problem with Spencer Tracy, but I am not too big of a fan of Katherine Hepburn :P . Grindhouse - Saw it again in the theater Saturday with my brother in law. Still pretty awesome after the second viewing. It's funny, both of the people I went with like Death Proof better. Everyone else I talk to liked Planet Terror better.
April 17, 200719 yr Author Just try it, Indy. She's cool. :P Il mio viaggio in Italie (1999 - Martin Scorsese) Ooh, fantastic! I remember buying myself a Luchino Visconti DVD-box a couple of years ago. It was my first real confrontation with the Italian Neo-Realism. I was in love, and in no-time I had all the others covered. I loved it and I couldn't get enough of it. So of course I was very happy when I found this DVD. Just like A Personal Journey is a very intimate and insightfull journey trough the history of the American movie, this is one trough the history of the Italian movie, especially aimed at Neo-realism. And it was once more an honor to see all this old (and sometimes for me new) material, guided by Marty. =D> Don't let the long running time scare you off, just see this! Also if you already think you're an authority on the subject. It's got a release on Region 1 and is available from DVD-Pacific for 13 bucks. April 17, 200719 yr Edward Scissorhands. How canah you hava hand likah scissah? Whatah you goin-ta do on the toi-let-ah?! Yea, so anyway, it was OK. Everyone I told I was going to watch it said I would cry, but it wasn't bad at all, overall a fairly satisfying ending. It's not really the kind of movie I'd look forward to seeing again, but it went by without too much pain.
