What movie(s) did you last see?

Featured Replies

Just try it, Indy. She's cool. :P

She just annoys me to no end in Bringing Up Baby, and every time I see her I think of that. Maybe one day I will like her. I recently got over my hatred of Kirsten Dunst, who I thought would annoy me for all time. Which leads me to Eternal Sunshine, I also really need to watch that again, maybe she won't ruin the movie for me this time.

Event Horizon

Is it worth seeing? If I remember right it is a good movie in a this movie is actually pretty bad sort of way. I can't for the life of me think where I just heard it, but something mentioned it recently.

Edward Scissorhands.

Why would you cry watching this movie? I guess it is kind of sad in a way, but it still keeps that style of comedy going throughout the whole movie. Do you like the other Tim Burton movies?

I still haven't watched much recently, but I am in the process of acquiring all five Batman movies, so those should be coming soon. Also I think Hot Fuzz is coming out in theaters this week, I should be going to see that.

Secretary - Um, interesting?

Well, I personally didn't as I said. Everyone says they cried because they were so mean to him, but I guess that part of it didn't really hit me that hard :\.

Eternal Sunshine

Event Horizon

Lost in Translation

Clockwork Orange

:)

Oh man... Event Horizon, absolutely love that movie. I went to see it in the cinema what, 7-8 years ago. Just loved the whole theme and the vessel itself was uber cool.

Blades of Glory- Never will beat Talladega Nights, but it beats the Benchwarmers.

It was hilarious, reminded me a bit of Tommy Boy in an insanely weird way...just how Jon Heder acted.

I haven't seen Tommy Boy recently, but I've seen it 27 times....best movie EVER!!1! Chris Farley, it's a pity you od'ed.

Yeah, might have been 10 years ago... can't remember precisely. All I remember for sure is that I went to see two movies that day, and the other was GI Jane... I'm so glad I went to see Event Horizon second. Meant I left the cinema in a good mood lol.

Ober Yuck. Here and there some nice stuff. But most of it is painfully unfunny and it just keeps going on. Hard to sit trough, but I can be proud for not pressing the stop button.

Little Miss Sunshine - Slow to start, but its overall a very good film :D

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind - good, but i dont like the ending

Robocop - i cant help myself from laughing when the robot malfunctions :P

Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.

Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)

Hot Fuzz - Absolutely hilarious. Definitely should see it if you have the chance :P .

Shaun of the Dead - After seeing Hot Fuzz I felt like watching this again. After Hot Fuzz was over I really liked it, but I was thinking I liked Shaun of the Dead a little better. Now that I just finished it I can say I really did like Shaun of the Dead a little better, but they are both completely awesome.

I just watched Blood Diamond. Pretty good, even if Leonardo DiCaprio really isn't that great of an action-hero type guy. Kind of sad that a lot of that stuff in that movie is actually true.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

I <3 Gears of War 2.

Add me on Xbox Live and mention you are from Tif :D

Normally I see it as too much work to comment on the movies I've seen but today I saw four that ranged from at least good to great.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm- I really well done animated Batman movie. I enjoyed the fighting styles of both Batman and the Joker. If you like Batman it's a must see.

This Film is Not Yet Rated- Probably the best documentary I've ever seen. It deals with the problems with the MPAA rating. For anybody unaware of what kind of influence they have it's a great watch. It also exposes the members of the ratings board and appeals board which apparently has never been done before. I'm not sure how well non-Americans could relate to it though.

Disturbia- Not that bad but the worst of the four. Typical teenage thriller. Shia LaBeouf is placed under house arrest and sees his neighbor doing unneighborly things. Has a lot in common with Hitchcock's Rear Mirror.

Vanilla Sky- I actually really enjoyed this movie. I've had people tell me they hated it but maybe I'm just a sucker for romance thinkers like this (think Eternal Sunshine). I loved the overall plot and how well it fit together. I will warn people though that the movie really won't make sense on the large scale until the last 5-10 minutes.

Over vacation, I watched a good amount of movies. I mean, I can't spend my whole day on TIF and playing random games...

So here we go...(There might be some minor spoilers...)

National Treasure (Twice!) - It was an excellent movie. One of my all-time favorites. Why else would I watch it twice...? Anyways, it's about a guy (Ben Gates) who is told a story about a world treasure. He believes its true despite other peoples' comments and looks for it...Can't wait for the sequel.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Finally. Humorous, although some parts were a little boring. Overall, very good. And I can understand all the herring + tree stuff now. Yay. And I might do the Holy Grail RuneScape quest now...Anyways, it's about King Arthur and his knights on their search for the Holy Grail.

Ocean's Eleven - Pretty good. Not the best though. I didn't completely understand everything going on for a while...But it wasn't bad watching 11 men attempt to rob a casino. (Or 3)

Ocean's Twelve - Much better than the first one, except for one thing. In my opinion, the words on the screen and the freezing and all the other computer effects were a little too much. Once again, a little confusing, but robberies are always fun. Can't wait for Ocean's Thirteen.

And...

[hide=Favorite Parts (SPOILERS)]

NT - Stealing the DoI. Especially Riley and his stuff. And then freaking out.

MP+HG - The Knights who say "Ni!"

O11 - Yen's only line. Where da [Hi!] have you been?

O12 - The train fight. Yankees vs. Red Sox. In fact...They're playing as I type. Go Sox!

[/hide]

It was a nice vacation...

Lolita - It was a year ago that I had seen Kubrick's Lolita, and I thought it was alright, at that time I didn't think it could compete with work such as A Clockwork Orange or Full Metal Jacket. Now that I'm a little older and also a little wiser. I see that I was wrong. Because Lolita is, together with Barry Lyndon and 2001: ASO, Kubrick's best work. It's so well written and there are so many subtle things in the movie. Take the scene where Humbert is in bed with Charlotte. First you see him kiss with Charlotte, while looking to a picture of Lolita on one side of the bed, and then he turns around after hearing something shocking, and then there's the gun on the other side of the bed. It really shows how Kubrick goes to extremes, there's only love or dead, and nothing in between. And how it's so double edged. The movie doesn't only ridicules the typical American, but also the 'intellectual', it's very funny to see Humbert, with all his wisdom throw his head back and open his mouth to be fed an egg by Lolita. Then there's the acting which is so great, Mason is perfect and of course Sue Lyon is very good as Lolita. Not to mention Sellers who steals the show in another double role. And something I didn't notice before, it may be a little farfetched, but in the opening scene (the confrontation between Humbert and Quilty) I noticed how every movie Kubrick made before Lolita was referenced in it. Spartacus (Quilty actually says it), the boxing gloves (killer's kiss), "Have you ever seen an execution?" (Paths of Glory) the only one I can't really place is the Killing, but that's because I've only seen it once, so I should see it again to place it. Anyway, I could be grabbing nearly any scene from the movie and give it some lines, but I'm not going to do that, so just see it for yourself. It's wroth it. :)

Fracture (starring Anthony Hopkins).

Pretty good movie in terms of acting and believable characters. However, a little too easy to figure out. 6/10

Harrington.gif

Swordfish - I got the feeling that this movie was trying hard to be original and twisty. It wasn't. I could see the twists and 'mis-directions' pretty easily. The action and story was cliched and I didn't really like the characters. 5/10.

300 - This was shallow and a bit on the boring side at times. The action was brilliant though and I loved the character of Zerkes. I had watched the South Park spoof the night before, which probally made it better for me. 7/10

Not to mention that lame third (?_ scene or something where he needs to hack a computer while he gets a [bleep]. Ooh, so annoying that kind of stuff.

Last night I was lucky to catch one of the last seats for the last showing of Das leben der anderen which was really good (although the 8.5 at IMDB is too high), loved the greyish atmosphere (which seems to be present in every German movie I see, in some it works better than others), and Ulrich MÃÆÃâÃâühe was fantastich in his role. I was less statisfied with Sebastian Koch, who kind of gave us a standard role, he seemed out of place. Also I didn't really like the misplaced humor that seemed to sneak in at some points. The ending was fantastich though! Deff. worth seeing. Don't worry about the language or that it's from Europe. It's not some kind of obscure art-film. :P It's got pretty high entertainment values, also a remake is planned. :)

Hot Fuzz- decently funny, probably would have been better if the scene behind the car at night didn't get [bleep]ed up so the movie skipped ahead, then they rewound it for us to try and watch it, and again it [bleep]ed up, so we watched part of the movie twice..

Blades of Glory :D

Seen it 3 times, watching it again on Saturday

Quit - October 7th, 2007.

The Devil wears Prada. Bad. The only thing that stopped me walking out was that Anne Hathaway looked really hot in it. I give it a 4/10
