I'm actually enjoying watching further down the list, the competition of sorts (loosely using that terminology) between Alkan, Dragonseance and Kingduffy. I know Alkan is smashing through serious Attack xp at Icefiends, but it is still rather close. Looking like he'll be next to 3B though. I am, however, also looking forward to seeing DrSeance smash out some serious xp in the near future.

Oh come on... don't be so negative about it. This kind of thing doesn't happen every day, so just let people enjoy it.

This kind of thing has been happening every day for a year. "This" being supporting suomi.

Although phyiscally it's clicking a mouse and looking at a screen, it's still impressive, well done to SUOMI when he reaches his goal, I hope Jagex themselves reward him in a special way (maybe free signed merchandise or something).

Do you cheer for your favourite football team every game during the playoffs, but cease to do so when they reach the Super Bowl? He doesn't need motivation, and I don't think anyone here is trying to give him any - people are simply commenting because they're excited.

Agreed. No one is forcing you to support him, however with that being said you shouldn't deter others that choose to do so.

doesn't matter if its only a game, its something you enjoy thats the point.. if you enjoy watching football you also sit down and watch on a screen and maybe scream if they win.... i don't see a huge difference

Screw a statue. Make Suomi the new Max and sell the 200m all skills cape.

The cape will consist of all particles and to buy it will take max cash.

Giving Suomi a statue in-game would just make people complain that their favourite famous RSers weren't given a statue.

But their favourite famous runescape players haven't maxed xp in every single skill have they? So that arguement wouldn't work at all, at least it would give the ranters something to rage quit about until new skils are released and 'ruin runescape' again.

A new comp style cape with pink/purple particles in honor of Suomi's favorite colors?!

No they haven't, but they've gained other things that SUOMI hasn't. Too many people (especially on this thread) are acting like experience is the only thing that matters in Runescape, as if all those people aiming for trimmed comp capes, money, boss kills etc. haven't done anything worthwhile.

 

I hate to detract from SUOMI's accomplishment (I truly do respect him), but his accomplishment is diminished when compared to adjusted xp values to account for xp inflation (think of it like ranking movies by box office revenue).

 

Is he a Hall of Fame Runescaper (if that exists)? Absolutely. However giving him an in-game statue would just confirm that all Jagex and people in general look at is experience gained, confirming that any content released by Jagex that does not improve experience rates (in one way or another) is useless. This has already been happening, and the statue would be the final nail in the coffin. Look at the fall of TET events, the state of the Warring Clan World, and the state of the RS community in general for examples.

If Jagex does acknowledge Suomi's accomplishment, they should probably say something along the lines of, "No, we won't give special recognition to any future players who achieve 200M in all skills."

 

I'm not denying that Suomi's achievement is an incredible feat of dedication. I just don't think such an accomplishment should be encouraged for others to follow, simply because it's not healthy. It's an accomplishment that is absolutely impossible to obtain by playing in moderation, regardless of how efficient you are and how skilled you are at time-management. Again, nobody pursued 99s religiously until the release of the skillcapes. Nobody cared about the CW professional cape until it became a trimmed comp cape requirement. Hopefully there never becomes an in-game reward for 200M all skills (or even 200M in any skill).
