I don't understand how Slayer makes money

you begin whining about a skill when you are level 30? thats like a person with 30 magic complaining that ancient is weak...

you just have to keep to it around 50 slayer you start getting good profit tasks and the money start coming in.

Bollocks. I'm at 72 now and I've still yet to get a decent drop besides a Rune Full Helm.

But It does make money, make no mistake. until you get to 85+ where all the good drops are most you'll get are just strings of 25k items within tasks which isn't THAT bad, but personally dont compensate enough.

@transcript80, hurry up and get 1 more con level for 70+ all.

from 80-85 i had 7.6m worth of rune items alone, not to mention all the dboots, legs, mauls, visage ect from slayer drops. 70 -85 I would say I made at least 40m+ from various drops. Since 85 I have had 7 whip drops that's when the money can start rolling in.

Its profitable just don't expect much before 85. Especially not at lvl 30.

Slayers profitabilty all depends on you're combat level as well as you're slayer level.

As many already stated pretty much ALL monsters you can be given as a task from lvl 55 upwards (assuming you don;t use the lowest 2 masters with Vannakka being a bit 50:50 as well)

Whether this is from herbs, runes, planks, equipment, coins, rare drops or w/e they ARE possible to profit from.

The dictating factor comes from how effectively you can kill them, if you are maxed or close to maxed combat and can quite easily slice and dice them with v limited supply usage you can make lots, however if you're lower down and have to use more pots and food you start cutting into you're profit.

Within slaying the black mask/slayer helm is a godsend for upping profit due to stat boosts.

Equally bunyips and later unicorns help improve profit margins.

Guthans for many taskes as well helps to eliminate cost for food.

I made a far bit from 55 to 75.

All those runes, alchables, rune drops, mystic items, seed and herbs all add up.

Before I hit 75 I'd had quite a few good drops, mystic bottoms and tops (don't knock kurasks there good for drops there atleast 100k per task).

Slayer is about variety (although every other task seems to be the same, waterfiend trail of 4 ftw) its a more interesting way of training combat and opens up a lot of doors.

[hide=Drops]

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

Well im 48 Slayer and i profit on almost EVERY task. I use Lost City master (and have done since i could) and i get tasks such as Daggs, Fire Giants, Trolls etc... Being a Granite Pure i get hit alot and have to eat alot of food, however i used about 40k in food for each task, however easily made about 200k+ on each task.

It depends on the task you have been assigned, however i personlly think all slayer monsters drop good drops - whether it be Harpies fire runes, or seeds from many other monsters. Alot of monsters also drop big bones, and if you want to bank, these are great money too.

I remember compfreak ranting about how slayer sucks.

Compfreak never did really like the slayer skill. And that's more of a personal opinion.

OT: Like it has been said though. Low slayer/cb levels = low profits. At higher levels you can make loads of money. I just made about 270k from an Aquanite task. And i did not get an Amulet of Ranging.

Of course though if you're going to slay only for money and you don't really like the skill then you're going to think its pointless and boring. Yes there are better ways to train combat and make moneys. But slayer is a nice way to blend both, especially since you can get charms that help with summoning.

Some think though that the profit only come from those rare and high price drops. This is only somewhat true. Its more of the herbs, seeds, runite items, magic runes, and other items that help bring in profit. Also if you plant those seeds (they will mostly be herb seeds) you can make even more money.

From 76-82 so far I've made probably 20m, most of it isn't in my cash pile though. I currently have a 5m cash pile, but also thousands of rune arrows from Dust Devil and Fire Giant tasks (and whatever else), about 50k fire runes, 15 snap dragon seeds, 11 Dragonstones, +100 Ranarr Weeds (a small portion of which will be used to make Prayer Potions), and just hundreds of these little things that add up. On my last Gargoyle task, I got 2 Granite Mauls, a good 600k. I've pied Spiritual Mages before, and in 120 kills I got 2 Dragon Boot drops. That's not a whole task. Always do clues, as well. They're usually not more than 100K, but recently I got a 360k Zamorak Page2 reward. I even bought 10k cannonballs to speed things up signifigantly, leaving me with a 1m cashpile, but that soon rebounded.

A tip- always do MTK. It'll make you a good amount of money. I've recevied Magic Seeds before, a good 200k.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

Ok, so i am currently 91 slay. I have spent countless hours slaying, as anyone else my lvl would have. Slayer by far is the most consistent way to make money as a higher lvl that DOES NOT involve skilling. You will make very little profit until about lvl 55.

55 is wear the money starts to slowly come in with Turoths. Great herb droppers, possible leaf bladed swords.

Then at 60, you RAKE in the cash with Aberrant Spectres. This is BY FAR the most consistent task for making cash. I walk away with at least 1 Snapdragon seed, 2 rune full helms, and 10+ ranarr herbs. Not to mention all the other herb and seed drops. Also, great task to start building up your blue charm collection for sum.

At 65 you get dust devils, possible d chain(1/10k drop rate), very quick exp, decent amout of crimson charms.

Kurasks at 70 will give you a more steady cash flow than Turoths.

75 is where you begin to make the BIG money. Gargoyles are annoying with the extra click with rock hammer, but with rune full helm, g maul, key halves, and mystic robes that are dropped pretty often you see the cash come in. (i get at least 1 of the following item each task)

80, yet again, Nechryaels, give you rune boots, they usually come in pairs. Most of the time i walk away with 2 rune boots, and a stack of seeds.

83 give you spirit mages, great task. Even with no boots, the runes cover the p pots.

85, the most sought out lvl for slayer, abby demons. Most overrated task in slayer tbh. Whips are far and few inbetween, but when you get one, its worth the wait.

90 Dark beast are amazingggggggg slayer exp. Drop rate for dark bows are the same rate as whips so they say, but imo are rarer.

(I cant say anything about cave horrors, ive never fought them =/)

It isnt always the major slayer monsters that give you the good drops. Iron drags have made me tons of cash with 10+ dragon drops. 6 items in 5 tasks. Blue and black drags are good for bones and hides, give you a profit every task. Fire giants are quick and give you tons of rune scimitars.

Just remember, slayer isnt all about the big drops, its about all the little drops adding up. All the herbs, the herb seeds, the runes (yes pick up all those fire and chaos runes that everyone neglects to pick up). Slayer can give you an easy mil a day if you stay with it and get higher up. Remember, big drops are about luck, but the small drops are what give you the cash. Most ironic thing is while typing this im semi afking abby demons, and happen to get this after over a 1k demon drought. =D09-09-15143136.png
