fragg
It's horrible money. But you spend hundreds of hours training it. You make a large amount of money in the end, but it's like saying you can make millions off training at chickens and picking up feathers. everyone in my clan and all my friends do say i have a horse up my [wagon]...so that might be why i make so much doing it. 15m cash in 1 week. saved up all the drops, thats not including all the p pots that i made with ranarr drops and all runes =P Current goals-99 Sum, 95 Slay, Elysian/Divine Spirit Shield, Get LS Elysian and Divine, get another sexy 99Drops Solo and LS-Arma Hiltx1(solo), Arma Chestx1(solo), Dragon Clawsx2(solo), Bandos Hiltx2(1 FFA, 1 LS), Bandos Tassetsx4(2 duo, 1 solo,2 LS), BCPx5(1 duo, 4 LS), Sara Hiltx1(1 LS), SSx7(LS), Spectral Sigilx1(LS)
The_Fray
Slayer is a terrible money maker, its stupid to slay for money. Considering you can get higher xp rates runecrafting, by the time you start making decent money with slayer, you could have had 91 Rc and made a ton of money getting there. Yet RC is one of my lower stats. It might be more money, but its also a pain in the [wagon] to train. Also not as much fun as slaying can be. Also i doubt you can get to 91 RC faster then you can get to 60+ Slayer. All_Is_Great
I don't get why people think slaying is fun :wall: Last task I got from Duradel was black demons, and before that, some iron dragons. :wall: If you guys are going to say slayer is fun, I must say farming is 100x better. Farming and slayer are about the same imo. But slayer you get to kill things. It all comes down to preference really. Those who don't like slayer have low levels and don't train it. fragg
i look at slayer as more of a way to train cmb without having to camp something and get bored. once i get maxed, then it will become boring, until then, its all fun =). Gin_and_Tonic
Slayer breaks up the boredom of training melee stats... I can barely camp for 15minutes before i get bored and am constantly checking my xp to see where i am - with slayer, it just creeps up on you and then before you even realise, its your next level. Slayer, i find, is good money at most levels... Im only 51 slayer, (training it), and in the last 4 tasks i've made easily over 1m, not to mention all that melee xp i would have never got if i camped. jijilentosmi
Slayer profits aren't really notable until the 60s or 70s, so its not like you make money from day one. Infact I'd say you spend 40-50% of your money from drops on consumable supplies(potions, food, etc.) if you use the fastest methods.
Star_Fox
its not like merchanting when money just falls out of your ears. be patient and accumulate everything as possible. and you're only lvl 30?! give it some time.
The_Gabe
I made 15m in 1 slayer task, I don't see how it's not profitable. Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.
bickers
almost all tasks can profit when i went from 89-90 i made around 7m from clues and drops thats excluding alched drops and runes ect but its decent cash i mostly level it as its one of the main skills i enjoy training

Fools_Taco
Well from the slayer cave tasks you will get white mystic and the tower drops black mystic. You will get heaps of charms. You will get heaps of seeds, ranarrs, snaps, kwuarrms etc. One slayer task is about the time it takes to grow a batch of herbs. Grow some herbs between tasks. You will get many rune drops once you get some higher level tasks. You will need to do a few quests and get some diffrent sets of gear to really open up slayer. - Guthans until you arre 68 summon - Read ax man jacks slayer guide in AoW for quests. Iron dragons drop visages, i looted 2 on the way to 99 slayer. Dont skip irons. Spirit mages are cash cows. Not to mention you will max out your combat stats by around 92. I made about 200m off slayer i bet. I had made the cash for 99 prayer by the time i was 90.
SacredFlam3s
slay point = money. ill show you how: as of 16th september 2009, death runes are 425gp ea and mind runes are 12gp for 35 points you get 250 deaths and 1000 mind runes. this equals 118,250gp. 118250/35=3378.5714, or roughly 3380gp per point. At Duradel you get 15 points a task, which is 50,700gp just in points. This doesn't include the bonus points from 50 and 100 tasks in a row, which could easily add up to 300,000 gp just from the task. The runes could cover say a task where you pray and dont get drops. Slayer does equal money. DK's Drops: 7 Berserker Rings, 2 Warrior Ring, 1 Archers Ring, 7 Dragon Hatchet, 1 Seercull, 3 Elite Clue - All SoloGWD Drops (CS): 1 Bandos Chestplate, 2 Armadyl Hilt, 1 Armadyl ChestplateSlayer:1 D skirt, 2 Whip, 12 G Mauls, 2 Dragon Boots
zotto
you begin whining about a skill when you are level 30? thats like a person with 30 magic complaining that ancient is weak... you just have to keep to it around 50 slayer you start getting good profit tasks and the money start coming in. Bollocks. I'm at 72 now and I've still yet to get a decent drop besides a Rune Full Helm. But It does make money, make no mistake. until you get to 85+ where all the good drops are most you'll get are just strings of 25k items within tasks which isn't THAT bad, but personally dont compensate enough. @transcript80, hurry up and get 1 more con level for 70+ all. I already had 5 rune full helmets in my current task of greater demons and it isn't even finished yet. And 3-5 per task isn't really abnormal. Are you wearing RoW?
winthern
Green dragons might make you more cash per hour but then you'll never unlock access to the better slayer monsters and the super cash cow tasks that can come from that which are clearly better than dragons. Also when a new slayer monster comes out you have access to the new drops and can sell in the trading hype surrounding a new item. The really interesting pro-slayer thing will be if Jagex starts introducing items which only work with a certain slayer level. Looked to me like there were going to in the most recent Q&A... Final thought: the feeling from getting my own whip drop was far better than the bank balance I had after getting 99 hunter :D
