An interesting quest. I wonder if there's any significance to the fact that when you mention the gnome, Arianwyn asks if he can be trusted, and when you talk about how you tried to save him, Arianwyn says he hopes you didn't waste too much time. He also seemed pretty eager for the character to do all of the dangerous stuff. Could just be me, but meh.

Also, I don't understand why exactly the elven mages ungrew their whole city.

Don't tell my Arianwyn takes me for granted! He's my best friend! :P They ungrew there city because of threats from the east. If you had paid attention, you would have remembered! Cities can't be protected apparently. Crystal isn't that strong I guess; I'm rambling now.

Stopped players temporarily losing their bed sheets if they left Port Phasmatys via Teleother spells.

LOL, WTF?

(I'm F2P.)

As part of a quest you disguise yourself as a ghost by wearing a bedsheet dipped in ectoplasm. The game only lets you wear it inside the city of Port Phasmatys, sadly. It looks pretty cool.

I thought i'd heard the name Iestin (the name signed at the bottom of the dead Elf Messengers report), and I was right! He is Ederns brother and appears in his journal (you find it by searching the dead slave team at the entrance of the Temple of Light) as a scholar researching the under-city and the Grand Library of Prifddinas. Interesting. :D

Man you people are all way to literal. I can figure out a whip couldn't cut a head off hence the statement of homemade abyssal whip. From the game it looks like there are some nasty blades attached to it which considering its game damage I would surely hope it could do enough damage to sever a head otherwise they might want to change it around. Also I know MMG was not the CEO back a year ago but rather then saying February of 2009 I just stated a year ago kind of the reason why I didn't say CEO MMG but rather just MMG. Man you people are no fun at all.

"You people!!??" what do you mean, "you people?"

Anyways, to the person a bit farther up it seemed liek there was some clear animosity between the elves and gnomes. It's clear that they're connected somehow, what with the gnomes having all those crystal bowls, chimes, seeds and what not...

When the Elves were in the east they made peace with the Gnomes, Oaknock the inventor used Elven crystal to create machines like the Illusion detector and stuff like that.

We still don't know who the Dark Lord is.

Some of the characters on the good side talk about "Zamorak's realm" and "Zamorak's fury" but give us no proof of why they suspect Zamorak.

Also, why are the death ruins in that place? Usually the ruins are in the place that is related to the element of the altar/ruins. Blood below the castle of the vampyre lord Drakan, chaos in the Wilderness, water in the Lumbridge swamp et cetera.

you mean other than the dark lord is a common name used for zamorak by zamorakian followers?

the death ruins are in the temple of light because the temple of light was built around the death ruins (or the original temple), I assume

deep under the mountains with the dark beasts seems death-related enough to me

Shamefully enough, this was my first quest I did without using a guide at all. It was actually really fun. Reward was decent (I'd say it was a bad reward but it gave me an agility level  ), I'd definetly do it again. Once you understood the concept of the tree puzzle (that is, the only real puzzle), it was a bit too easy. You could do it just by click all the trees everywhere until you see the light going in the right direction. Other than that, this quest has made me thirsty for more elf quests.

I'd definetly consider this a prelude quest for something very big.

Hey again all,

I hope you've enjoyed the new quest and continuation of this storyline.

As some of you have gathered, it isn't meant to be super-difficult (although there is something about the puzzle that no-one has mentioned yet...)

We wanted to make a quest that would bring you back to the storyline after so long, answer a few questions about a certain city *not* on the map and as the newspost says, give you an idea of what is to come.

To be truthful about the future; with other projects on the go, we do not have the graphics time as of yet to give the city the justice it deserves, but have no doubt I have grandmaster-plans for the continuation of the storyline, which I will be discussing with other developers and when graphics is available to work on it... we'll see.

Until then, happy questing.

I went back there and looked around for ages and couldn't figure anything out. I tried making the light white and go through the massive open door but it didn't appear on the other side. I'm really not sure what he's talking about.

Talk to the guy at Tyras' tent and he mentions Zamorak.

Also, I have only 37 sets of mourner clothing left now.

Edit: Wtffff?

Yeah seriously PAY ATTENTION TO THE PLOT

The death ruins are in a cavern filled with shadows and dark beasts, that is right by were Iban set up his base and has links to the Dark Lord aka Zamorak.

The temple of light was built around the altar in order to keep its darkness in and those who wish to use it, presumable for summoning the Dark Lord, out.

With that logic, any place with high level monsters is a suitable place for the death ruins.

Actually, the soul altar/ruins would fit to the elven series better than death, since Seren is the divine aspect of Anima Mundi (latin for "soul of world").

Also, if the Dark Lord was Zamorak, Iban would be an ally of Lathas and the evil elves. Since they wanted us to banish Iban, it pretty much rules out Zamorak as the Dark Lord, unless Iban is really a good character who was made look like evil with Glouphrie's illusion spells.

Another possibility that wouldn't rule Zamorak out as the Dark Lord would be that Iban was actually imprisoned in the Pass and we freed him, rather than killing/banishing him.

Talk to the guy at Tyras' tent and he mentions Zamorak.

Yeah, without any kind of proof.

Innocent until proven guilty.

How does my logic say any high level monster is suitede to detah?

The logic is DARK beasts. Dark is same word pool as death.

Shadows again relate to the idea of death.

Underground pass had spiders and soulless both link to death

Mourners and plague DEATH

As for him being Zamorak it is fact. The logic of Iban is Iban was MAD man who THOUGHT he was Zamorak son (with no proof) he was blocking the underground pass AKA an easy hidden route between west ardy and the elf lands. Lathas and the Elves need a path, Iban is blocking said path. Iban is a mad guy who has public conotations to Zamorak, easy to get someone to kill him and open said path

We get more chat with the guards now that we know the city is only a field.

157i1hs.png

This hole looks kinda new... Mourners come out of it. Didnt they just appear and dissappear before at certain locations?

2s94z7k.png

Dwarves are mining away. They have old graphic steel pickaxes, so it might take a while. :P

I also think they are waiting for particle effects, sky boxes, water reflection and bloom lighting untill they start making the city and the next quest.

They added the Training Items to a shop now after they made them discontinued since the Lumbridge Update.

Probably will have to wait for all those things to come out. I bet they already are capable of making them, they just needs to get Tek5 out before they could implement it. I sure hope we get in there soon. I'm tired of never being allowed in.

Do you have a JMod quote?

Also, shadows...Sliske the Mahjarrat who delves the shadows.

If the dark lord is Zamorak the Mahjarrat god, it makes sense that a Zarosian Mahjarrat would want to prevent summoning his enemy.

The elements of the Mahjarrat are:

Smoke: fire+air

Shadow: death? (when a Mahjarrat "dies", he goes to the Shadow Realm rather than actually dying)

Blood

Ice: If the soul ruins are in The North ritual area, soul could be associated with ice (but souls aren't used in ice spells).

The Mourners wanted to use the power from the death altar to summon the Dark Lord, so that's a little bit of evidence for the Dark Lord being Zamorak (or some other Mahjarrat).
