Da_Latios
If you're going to trio/duo Dagannoth Kings, then I don't see why you wouldn't use the axe.For training, though... I think I'll stick with a whip. BloodAngel
I used it in conjunction with a cannon at the Lighthouse for my Slayer task today and it increased the speed of the task, however I can't see it dramatically changing the way Dagannoths are killed because of its speed. Would probably be useful for DKs though. For Slaying purposes though I'll stick with a cannon and use the axe with it. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale." atestarossa
how hard would this quest be with 45 defence?. I would say it would be quite a challenge. If you have 43, or 40 pray, that might make it a bit easier. The first part where you have to fight, you have to survive for quite a long time, while under constant attack from range, melee and mage. This tears down the food quite a lot, but if you try to only have one melee on you, and kill the mage as soon as possible, then it might be possible. I would suggest using brews though. Later on, there's a part where you have to escort a hurt king vargas, here you pretty much have to tank for him, this includes a lot of dagganoths, those walrus-mages, and rock lobsters. You're going to have hell here without 43 pray, and 45 def. With pray, it'll be pretty easy. The queen shouldn't really be a big problem, Just take a lot of food. J35u5_M4
For normal dagannoths I would test the axe vs whip. But for Dagannoth Supreme...That noob is so annoying that the axe will be perfect

Kimberly
Likwidair, I've merged your topic "Balmung is awesome..." into this one as you'd get a better response regarding this new quest item in this thread. :) Happy posting!
cat666
Yes, you can fninish the quest and get the reward later. I'm getting 75 prayer first, then spend the 450.000 xp on prayer. It's a shame to waste it on melee stats. Considering mage and range, though. And NO SUMMONING XP! READ the thread. It was mentioned about 5 times or so that Jagex isnt changing it, they want you to get xp in the combat styles used in the quest. Why bother, 450k XP is exactly the same now as it will be when you get 75 prayer. Trust the Gene Genie!
Hajutze
Why bother, 450k XP is exactly the same now as it will be when you get 75 prayer.because you need level 75+ to use the "lamps that are no lamps at all" =/

Up to the final battle. I'm wondering why this wouldn't work? What if I stay away from her to avoid melee, pray range, and wear mage gear? This gives me the ability to hit higher with mage on the several spell cycles, and it seems like I wouldn't get hit all that much.
Kalafai
you'll need to close melee during the grey cycle, but take a couple poison darts when you go, and you shouldn't burn through too much food.
