11-Jan-2010 - Nomads Requiem

I played soul wars once thinking I could train my slayer that way. The game itself isn't bad but its a total lag fest. Theres like 400 people on the battle field at one time, you can't see what you're doing. I never played it again.

Although I think you can get 30 blue charms for like 32 zeal pts or something.

I thought GM quests would be... epic. I mean, like an important part of a long going story line. Players hardly know Nomad. Unless Nomad is a mahjarrat.

out of wiki info coming up

30 zeal points

Combat Level 9-85 = 12 blue charms

Combat Level 86-100 = 19 blue charms

Combat Level 101-110 = 29 blue charms

Combat Level 111-124 = 36 blue charms

Combat Level 125-135 = 41 blue charms

Combat Level 136+ = 45 blue charms

70 zeal points = 2xBlueCharms + 10 zeal points left. Let's say the average quester would be 125-135 ... so he can get 82 blue charms. Again lets say they have at least 66 summoning (for Mith minotaur) 82*580.8 = 47625.6 exp ... I dont think its worth it.

That was the plan, or at least what they told us. It's becoming more and more evident that what they tell us they're going to do and they will end up doing are not even close to the same thing.

I can't wait for them to say they somehow changed the skill into into a minigame, then into a Funorb game, then abadoned it because they need to spend more time balancing PVP and making new haircuts.

Im stuck in the room where you feed the energy things. No idea what to do there. :S

Other room I got though.

In the water puzzle, go to the 2nd room and mine the rubble, then use the 1st lever to have the water flow go through the crack.

It will create a waterfall in the energy room. Lure the enegrys to the waterfall using the elemental fuel.

What a scam to get people to play Soul Wars.

LOL so true.

70 zeal points is like 300k prayer points that would cost me a few mil, definitely worth doing. \:D/

Anyone know if you can boost Hunter to do quest, only needs 3 levels.

I don't know which mod did this. I don't know why they did it. If they're looking for money, I can tell them I don't have any as I'm a student. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over 4 years of RuneScape. Skills that I have worked hard for and people like them can't take them away. If they give me my particles back now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for them, I will not pursue them. But if they don't, I will look for them, I will find them, and they won't like what'll happen

if anyone knows how to lure the Elementals, do post it.

First you have to let the water in the other room down through a crack that you open up with your pickaxe. Then the drips of water in the first room will turn into a torrent of water. Then lure the elementals onto this water which will kill them.

Please add this to your first post, I didn't think it warranted a thread on it's own:

Spoiler warning: This post might have the odd spoiler in it for Blood Runs Deep. Probably not, but you have been warned.

As many of you know, theres currently a section in the quest that makes it much easier to get to the dagannoth kings, rock lobsters, and various other things you might want to kill. Its a shortcut both in that its a more direct route, and it bypasses the two-person doors in the first level of the Waterbirth dungeon.

It wasnt our intention that the quest should provide a shortcut like this. Before the update we were happy with the effort required to get to the kings and a sudden glut of their loot on the Grand Exchange would be unfair on those adventurers already willing and able to kill them. Theres a similar story for other creatures in the dungeon; in particular we did not intend to devalue the challenge of training Summoning by increasing the availability of charms.

Using this benefit wasnt bug abuse in the Rules of Conduct sense. We wont be taking any action against players who have found this to be an advantage and benefited from it.

Im very sorry for the confusion this has caused. As a rule we try to avoid forcing decisions in quests that will cause you game-mechanical disadvantages. Any place where theres an incentive for players to stay in a quest rather than completing it is something were particularly concerned about. Unfortunately in this case we provided a benefit by accident and it was necessary to take it away rather than make it permanent. Its also unfortunate that it took a while, but this wasnt a small task and the holiday season just makes it hard to fit these things in.

The fix were making goes like this:

* While youre at that stage of the quest and busy escorting your companion, the creatures of Waterbirth will have reduced drops. I recommend that you dont try lootsharing while hes there because there will be a chance that nobody will get proper loot.

* If for any reason you fail the escorting event, you will be returned to the surface, not far from the cave entrances.

* Even if you are the right stage in the quest, these changes only affect you while you are escorting. If you make your way into the dungeon by the normal route, everything will be as normal.

By the time you read this, those changes should be live. It would have been nice to give a little more warning, but although this wasnt an exploit that constituted bug abuse it was still something we didnt want to encourage: saying "were not punishing anyone for this, but well stop you doing it later" would have done exactly that :)

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Mod Hew

I believe Nomad will die/go away at the end of the quest because it says after the quest Zimberfizz will be the new exchanger of zeal.

Well yes, that's what a "requiem" generally implies. ;)

Not going to be doing it for a while then. <_<

Damn you, my inability to make money on this game!

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Any other tips on defeating nomad? Do any protection prayers even work? What style of attack is he really using? I was in barrows but died, by the way you can't teleport out of the final fight, and if you try to leave me clones himself lol. Although if you die you get a gravestone right outside.
