[spoiler=My guess about the story]Nomad was not a majjarhat (sp ?) but rather some kind of follower of Lucien. He saw how powerful Lucien became with the stone of Jas and the Staff of Armadyl and began collecting souls in attempt to defeat Lucien eventually that is why he says something like " you've doomed the world when he dies"

So Jagex makes a quest really hard by making a boss fight really hard? Wow... original... <_<

Yeah, I don't know about "original", but RS sorely needed a challenging boss fight. Nothing even compares to this fight. It makes the balance elemental, hell even Jad look like kittens. That's good enough for me. And the new cape prayer wise is 3x better than trimmed skillcape. Yum. :)

So what exactly does nomad do? Uses all combat styles and hits really high with them like jad but fast?

Yes and uses Illusions and minefield type things where you cant run out of,shame we don't have those kind of spells in runescape because it'd really add the PvP :P "illusion spellbook" pls

[hide]His max hit is about 30 with normal attacks, but prayer doesn't block them at all it seems (though I'd use it anyway). He occasionally drops landmines that when you step on them it hits 40. Then he will clone himself and when you hurt the real him the clones will go away. And sometimes he charges up an attack that hits max of 98 but you can run behind a pillar to dodge it. But then after doing that once eventually he will teleport you to the center of the room and freeze you, then use that attack on you. If you don't have higher than 98 HP when it hits, you're screwed. When you get him down far enough, he'll heal back to about half health. And then when you get him down again, he'll go berserker on you hitting you with melee constantly (again prayer dosen't work) as fast and hard as commander zilyana. And he runs so it's really hard to get away from him.[/hide]

Do you think it's worth it to use overloads against the Nomad?

The boss fight was just plain boring and wasteful and his 3 Gimmicks only make it worse. <_<

Plain? He has a melee attack, a dark energyball and throws bombs on the floor.... Ive never seen that before in RS. O_o

Boring? How do you make combat more exciting then this? :P Attack something then go read a forum thread for 20 seconds while the monster gets killed?

Its the toughest battle ive fought and still havent completed.

Probably, if you're going to brew anyway it would be easier to use those. Only problem might be if you don't manage to kill him within 5 minutes and have to take another dose.

[spoiler=Spoiler]How high is the final boss's resistance to magic? Using Ice Barrage or another freezing spell could help you avoid his "last ditch attack", in theory.

Also, if that charge attack hits 98, and it's unavoidable, doesn't that mean that whatever hitpoints level is required to brew to 98 is a requirement for this quest? The fact that it isn't suggests to me that we're missing some way of blocking it.

I've found that melee works best for me, however that is still only knocking 1/4 off of his health. I'll come back to this another time, you've won the fight Nomad, but not the war! <_<

Edit

MotherbrainII

Magic doesn't hit too often and ice attacks don't freeze him it would seem.

[hide]Actually, his max hit is 98 but that is because his special magic attack hits 1 hit below your base hp level.

If you have 85 hp, his magic attack will hit 84. You are forced to eat untill your hp is atleast full though.[/hide]

My point is that making a quest solely around a really hard boss fight is dumb. And unoriginal. And they've already made GM quests look like just another level. Oh and it apparently has little story or reveals any backstory/history of anything.

So seriously? What's the point? This should've been some kind of elite level miniquest or minigame or something. Making it a full blown quest is, as Magzar put it... Gayyy.
