Am I the only one who noticed that an Elysian sold on the GE today? :?

 

Am I the only one who noticed that not a single yellow sold on the GE today? I doubt more than 2-3 of the other hats sold.

So um... Who the hell is buying/selling all these crackers? Every day for the past several weeks crackers have appeared on the "most expensive items" list.

Divines rose too today but I guess jagex makes elysian and divine rise at the same time because divine didn't show up as selling on the GE.

 

 

 

Dragon is right though they are useless unless they become more popular and more people have them. Sure you'd save brews at arma but if you arn't soloing that won't matter because your team will run out.

 

 

 

But I do admit I have an offer on a divine and an ely just because it'd be sweet to have and try out just to say I've done it.

 

 

 

As for the crackers, my friend bought 2 today in the GE because he is quiting and considering they never fall in price because theys ell so rarely it's a great investment especially if they are the next thing to rise.

Look at the fact that that the poster said "I bought it at its' exact valley", and then the fact that it's 10m under the current ge price.. Yea.. It's an old pic.

 

 

 

As for what dragonlord said, sure they are overkill in many places, and yes, the ge price is even kind of high, but you know where the difference is? Overhype is enough to get everything to an unreasonable amount. Look at how 3a was since the GE came out.. Buying it out and make it seem much rarer than it was, was enough to hype it up so everyone wanted it, and was willing to pay those street prices on it. It was just looked at as alot better than it really is. Yea, 3a is actually great armor, but with the hype on it, it became seemingly alot more worthwhile.

DO NOT BELIEVE THIS 100%. I AM COMPLETELY UNSURE.

 

I don't know much about the cracker market, but me and someone were talking, and ASSUMING NO OTHER PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SELL A CRACKER (Which is within reason, as they are rare to come by), then someone had pointed out to me that it could be used as a cash transfer. Person A sells Cracker on the ge min. Friend buys it. Then Person A buys its back on the ge max from the friend, or in trade from a friend. ~6m every 4 hours. REMEMBER THIS ASSUMES NO ONE ELSE IS SELLING A CRACKER ON THE GE.

 

 

 

Of course, if that isn't true, then I have no theory...

so true the shields will crash sooon 3rd is done, and partyhats I see getting very expensive idk about smaller rares those are very common compared to 3rd and those shields.

 

 

 

i was thinkin and had to edit 'cause how will partyhats go up if no one will sell them :-k

 

They (partyhats) will likely end up doing what 3rd age did for the past ~1.5 years: they won't move for a few weeks, someone will sell one, the price will go up the full 1% and stagnate again for a few weeks, someone will sell one, the price will go up 1% and stagnate, etc., etc. while those that have them will junk trade them around for other phats, cash, and, possibly (if they hold up), Divines and Ely's.

 

 

 

Unless, of course, Jagex intervenes and raises prices manually (in increments; jumping straight up to whatever 'street' prices they settle on is likely to just make them crash again) so that people will start trading them on the GE and the markets can become (relatively) stable, but, by looking at what they've done since the GE, I don't see that happening.

 

 

 

At least, that's my theory.

oh i see once they start not selling then 1 sell in that ammount of time without selling could cause a price change and the 1%s will keep getting higher just 1M rises as the lowest is still good :mrgreen:

The reason I don't think they will follow 3a is, they're discontinued, and the fact that handfulls could leave the game at any time, and never come back, it makes them even rarer to come by. With 3a at least random noobs might get it from a scroll, see the ge price and be like.. OMFG!!! SELL!. Partyhats arent coming in like that..

Partyhats barely drop so they are a great investment and we all know an item that is diminishing will rise eventually once they hit the price to where they are a nice buy which they did.

Actually yes, Lol.

 

 

 

Makes sense to me though, Although Ely/Div are having a nice run, it won't last forever, and within weeks, or a few months, they probably will be down to ge price. (I was going to say crash, but they won't become worthless, I can see them being traded on the ge for a high price sometime soon though.)

 

 

 

Who knows, they might become easy for buyers to get soon.

 

 

 

Elysian is the most overrated item in the game. Unless you have excess cash, it's not worth even the 250m GE price. With that money, you could buy 99 ranged, 99 prayer, 99 summoning, an SGS, and have some left over. The small increase in efficiency over a DFS isn't enough to justify the cost. Even with a DFS and unicorn, you can last over four hours at Armadyl or Saradomin in a trio/quartet. An elysian is just overkill.

 

 

 

A divine is more worth the money than elysian, but it's also even greater overkill. Who the hell would want to stay at Saradomin or Armadyl for six freaking hours in one trip? I, personally, would be bored out of my mind. Another strike against these two shields is that yeah, you may last a while longer than everybody else, but what does it matter? Are you willing to solo when you are low on supplies?

 

 

 

People pay handsomely for the best, and these shields are undoubtedly the best. However, I do not see them as being close to worth their cost. If I got a sigil CS/FFA, I'd first offer it at market price to some of my friends, and if no one wants it, I'd sell it in the GE for whatever I could get. I honestly couldn't give a damn less about "street price." I do not have any junk, am not compelled to waste my time collecting junk, and that would STILL be over 100m+ gp that I didn't have before. I could get some third age with my sigil, but why bother? For looking cool, I have and prefer my full dragon. I really like what they did with the plate and legs, but that's off-topic.

 

 

 

Ely is actually better then div at things like arma and dks, simply because you are always getting hit and your prayer gets drained ALOT. I have used both div and ely, and find ely to be more usefull in nearly all cases. Div is better for corp and pvp. at sara ely is better simply because prayer is the issue. I take 0 food, just stallion and full invo of prayer. So a shield that drains prayer is not what I want.

 

 

 

As for the high price, no they may not be worth the current ge price based on usefullness. But they are rare, a status symbol, and good to invest in. Also keep in mind there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, that have made a few hundred mill at gwd and are perfectly willing to pay 200-300m for a nice ely shield.

Considering there are alot more of them they will stay near the same especially pumkins, easters, and discs just because you wear them making them less popular among the people buying rares for looks. They might go up a little bit but nothing major.

So they are buying out 3a Legs.. a bit early imo but I guess they love their 3a too much to let it all crash.

As I said legs, plate, and ammy look good and have decent bonuses so they won't crash as hard. Now when they became sellable people bought them up and now merchants saw that and rebought them out which was bound to happen but only for the good third age. The other stuff is junk and way too high priced atm.

 

 

 

As for santas they are close to being bought out not sure about the other small rares.

Halloween masks pretty hard to get right now. Forget about buying below medium. If you leave offer in for max, you get reasonably soon. But they're dirt cheap right now, so they have some room to move up.

I wasn't so sure about it first, but I'm glad I bought a white partyhat for GE price when the cheaper hats started rising :)
