My housing providers installed a new shower head in over the summer and now the water pressure is absolute garbage. It feels like the water is just dripping on me.

Coming back to my house up at school for the school year to find it completely trashed. Shower has black/orange/pink grime EVERYWHERE, absolutely no clean dishes or pots or pans, sink is full of that stuff, covered in grime, preventing anything from being washed even if i wanted to wash it.

In short, I can't shower because there's no way I'm stepping into that thing, and I can't cook. And my housemates will do nothing about it. They're [bleep]ing pathetic.

Dag. All the dust and piles of junk in my house don't seem so bad compared to that. I don't know how you can stand living with those people.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

This is where you want to be bigger than all your housemates. Cleaning is less optional when they ultimately can't argue with them. I think that's how my brother made his friends do it when he lived here.

We just rebuilt our shower (well, it's in the process) in which the tiles werent properly spaced, and thus not all of them had grout sealing them against water. The result, aside from accumulating damage and potential health issues behind the walls, is that the shower gets moldy way faster (as does the ceiling), compounded by the lack of natural ventilation in the room (no windows). Javex is pretty awesome (I use tilex on it mostly). What I will say, is sooner rather than later. Silicone is the worst, there is very little you can do for it except replace it. Grout stains as well, and at some point it will never come clean, and that's a much larger problem. You can kill it well enough, but visually, it will always be there. So as much as it's going to suck being the guy who has to do it, they obviously don't care, and sooner is much better for you.

Also, Dishwashers are awesome.

Just got an amazing deal on a laptop from Newegg. Why does this annoy me? Because I'm going to spend the next few days freaking out that there must be something wrong with it for them to be selling it so cheap ($400-500 cheaper than comparable laptops).

Guide/tutorials on YouTube that either:

1. Take 20 mins to teach what you can do in 4½.

2. Add annoying music

Makes it look bad when they try to make a professional looking guide, they don't have it set up ready and dick around and add freaking over-loud dubstep crap to everything and make it unbearable. (intro's included)

Read professional and customer reviews. If there's something wrong with the model, you will find out.

Yeah. Sometimes though it will be alright and you'll get a great deal. My desktop costs 500 less than it should simply because it has more generic hardware in it.

Generic hardware, you mean parts from unknown/less reliable brands? Meh I wouldn't take the risk. If your SSD or HDD breaks for example, your data is screwed, not worth saving a few bucks. And the manufacturers know it, for instance my current SSD has a 3 year warranty. On newegg you can find lots of cheap SSDs but guess what? 30 day warranty, that's it, they know their shit will break.

maybe that is what is wrong with it. the apprehension you are feeling is not a result of a good deal, it's the result of an aeons old hex placed upon the item by the ichorkings of the texan undercity that causes its owner extremem anxiety???

I forgot to mention, my PC hasn't broken yet and I've had it about a year. No problems neither.

I understand your concern though and I did risk big in getting this computer. Typically I don't buy generics unless there's a bigger plan for them...the way I buy things is that the important stuff is well-built and top notch, necessary components (but not vital to my personal work) are second-rate. The rest, generic.

I have a secondary/backup HDD from a well-known brand, spent good money on it. Processor is AMD, which is not the best but not true generic. My RAM sticks and graphic card is generic. This built together by a lesser-known PC company drastically reduced the price and maintained stability and power.

...now if we're talking about other, more simpler things like car tires, food brands, pens, random crap...I typically wouldn't buy generic for those things because, as you say, it'll break. (Especially if made of plastic. )

Checked reviews on all other sites, the only complaint is that some drivers have issues with windows 8, but I can always downgrade to Windows 7 if it's that bad. Which I'll probably do anyways because Windows 8 is awful.

I buy a lot of generic food as it's basically the same thing for less. Sometimes half the price of the brand name.

I find generic food brands are sometimes better, even.

That is true. There's one thing in particular where I remember getting the brand name once because it was on sale, but only tasted salt while the generic one had actual taste of that food and not salt.

i buy generic cuz i like to feel like i'm living in repo man

just kidding i've never seen repo maan

This really melodramatic advert appearing at the beginning of every chuffing video on YouTube:

I've never played the game, but I'll come no sooner to that day even if you shove it down my ears every three minutes.

Big economic problems. Not to name any names (Wells fargo) had a history of predatory loans and still has them today. Big instututions can truely be life ruiners who trivialize a lot of other problems people mention online. Dont take loans from them unless you want your life ruined

When someone is saying something unbelievably stupid, but you know trying to counter it won't do any good. Being in a family of hardcore Republicans, this happens a lot.

Not being "cool" unless I am drunk...

Seriously, my mates now buy me free drinks to get me drunk, cause when I am sober, I am a boring partyblooper, but when I am drunk I am the coolest person alive. [bleep] me. Seriously [bleep] me.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

You don't suddenly turn into a different person because you're drunk. Just be less uptight or whatever quality is making you "less cool".

Get better friends who don't think you're fun only when you're drunk.

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

The way alcohol is engrained our culture. And that I got stupidly lots of resistance when I mentioned my promise to stay sober until New Years'.

And how noone believes that I could actually do it. It is freshman year in university for me, but I am fairly certain I can do it. Because if I couldn't it would mean I am addicted. And being addicted to alcohol is ridiculously bad.
