Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword

The reason I would be getting a c'bow instead of a cls/ shield for my next chaotic is because well... it's the only useful thing for me.

I have my rapier which will do as my melee, I think the shields are a waste for what I do, I don't need a staff.. I don't need a maul.. so the only thing left is the c'bow. Call it a waste, but I range a lot.

Wait for the new overpowered rewards in B2 which come out tomorrow. :thumbsup:

Yeah, essentially the only time you want a CLS is if you are unable to make up your mind and are willing to get laughed at both training/slayer and monster hunting.

Well, the Rapier is better for training/slayer and the Maul is better for killing boss monsters.

Perhaps, however, I use dstone (i) for dangerous situations, or high risk PKing. Doubt I'll be risking new rings much, unless they are epic, and I might only switch out the rings, much like hybriding w/ void helms.

Yeah. The melee-deflect ring sounds interesting, so that may be a big contender for the zerker (i), but the spec saving ring sounds more like something to just keep in your inventory to use as needed. In any case, more options is always better.

But in terms of pvp combat and MHing, i'm pretty sure the melee-deflect/spec-reducing will be much better. Plus I don't really see people running around with a ring switch in their inventory - it sounds impractical

A whole lot will depend on the token costs of these new items/abilities. I can't see too many people using the deflect ring in dangerous areas if it costs 200k or more tokens, especially since (with the exception of the onyx i) rings have a very low protection value.

This is true. I'm pretty sure the spec-red ring will be low-prot and high-cost, or Dbow pjing would be nuts.

 

I really hope they balance the spec-red ring well. At the maximum the ring should only reduce 5% of the spec cost... otherwise you could get 3 claw specs in a row with a spec rest pot. 3 claw specs in a row would actually break safe-pvp combat - claws are broken enough already.

Well if it's a ring, and the recoil damage is fairly significant, it could increase your DPS on tasks where the monster uses melee. Of course, this wouldn't apply to tasks where you use protection prayers (unless the item is able deflect potential damage, too, for some reason).

 

I think it's either going to be a ring or a shield. If it's a shield, it's automatically useless for slayer.

I think making a ring which deflects melee damage is a little redundant... given that we have the ring of recoil.

It won't be a helm. We already have a warrior helm that has an eye. :| Won't be a ring, we already have recoil and MA rings will become redundant. I think it'll be an amulet, when was the last time we had a new one as alternative to fury? Maybe that fury ornament kit was to help keep furys a little more wanted?

you'd eye of the warrior flash when they attack and then switch back for your attacks?

 

i already use 1 amulet per combat style and a 4th would just mess up my invent

You know, I think that's a possibility. It could even replace the fury as the best melee amulet, but I doubt that will happen. It's too hard to get onyx gems as it is without taking away from their usefulness.
