That was pretty good, actually. I never thought about reincarnating BACKWARDS in time and only me being everyone at once.

@Sam, why is that?

Nice +1 to post count. I don't understand why you would even bother posting. :rolleyes:

For the post count.

To be honest, after taking months to understand the ending of Neon Genesis this didn't really phase me that much. I would just go with the flow without a single care.

87.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot. If you're one of the 42% of statistics that doesn't, copy and paste this into your sig. In addition, 126.324% of the previous statement does not make sense.

I must say I have thought of that possibility endless times, so it didn't really surprise me, even though I find it a little empty on the philosophical level. As a metaphor, though, it is the golden rule at its finest. It's always good to remember that both Mother Teresa and Charles Manson were both just as human as you.

It's a series of events after my death that I've formulated many times. I was really interested about learning about reincarnation in religious studies at school so it only helps to enhance my belief in these events that some people believe happen after death.

One line from The Beatles song "I Am The Walrus" that comes to mind when I think about what you posted;

'I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.'

I've always wondered about being reincarnated back in time... but then I remembered Hitler and was like "No thanks." :thumbdown:

I was told it came from HipForums. I'm not really sure exactly where it came from though. I had no idea it was from 4chan; and you can just call me Zach, Sam. :P

It may not have originated from 4chan, but it has been posted around /b/ and a few other boards a few times.

It is interesting, and quite a few questions would still be raised, but nevertheless, I liked it a lot.

If you don't believe in a soul, this entire copypasta is a total crapshoot. What else could you use to justify saying that everybody is the same person, just time traveling to make copies of themself? If they think differently, look different, act different, and don't retain any memories, what justification do you have for saying that everybody is one? The god in this story is such a troll.

Honestly, it looks like something out of a Doctor Who episode :unsure:

I sometimes wonder if time exists on different "frames". Each frame has already happened, just on a different strand of time, so there'd be like infinite strands of time.

Interesting read though. It's the kind that gives us epiphanies eh.

I'm trying to point out that doesn't make any sense without seeming sarcastic or cynical and this sentence is all I could come up with. Sorry.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

So the moral of the story is that one of myselves should go on a massive killing spree in order to hurry up into the realm of the higher beings? :unsure:

Well not really, since time isn't linear and everything has already happened then (1) if you did go on a killing spree (without knowing about all this), then it would be in fact meant to of happened so you wouldn't have hurried anything along.

(2) if you did know about all of this (as in your purpose etc and you weren't meant to know) and somehow got those memories as a human (however unlikely it would be) and you then went on a killing spree or whatever, then I think that might nit just hurry things up but also damage things that mightn't be fixable.

(I know this thread is about a month old, but I had to look it up for a friend and thought about it for a bit again)

My thoughts exactly. Losing all of your memories and your physical form must constitute at some point a change in the self. Just because all of my fingers on my left hand sprouted from the same hand, it doesn't mean that all of my fingers on my left hand are one. I can appreciate the possibility of all of humanity originating from a single source, but each human after it has 'surfaced' to the world is intrinsically different afterwards.

Simply put, even if the soul exists, it certainly doesn't work like this.

I think the writer had been reading the Hitchhiker's Guide prior to the writing.

That was my first thought, as well. I kind of like it, though.
