Soa Posted August 23, 2008 Share Posted August 23, 2008 does anyone know where you can download a text effect for gimp that makes the text reflect, if so can you message me or post a link to the dl? I don't know if there's any tutorials, but I know how to do it. First, take your text or image layer, duplicate it and flip it horizontally. If you don't know how to create a layer mask, go to Layer -> Mask -> Add layer mask. Do this on the flipped text layer. A box should come up, just click add. Go to the gradient dialogue and change it from 'FG to BG' to FG to Transparent. Then just click and drag to make it fade out. Final product. And you didn't fix the avatar problem, it is still 9 pixels too high. You have to ask the avatar creator to change it, otherwise it becomes ruined. This one is with the border, and not taken that 50 pixels from only one side. Apparently, I have still got the border wrong, but I hope you like it. So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. But you just must save it to a different format, it might be a little loss of quality, but you can't resize it otherwise. JPEG is good for a try.
