Oh man, me and some friends were screwing around on Expert earlier, Subway level, gotta rush to the end, no helping each other, no camping, no hindering each other, no healing. Everyone else got messed up at the start because they walked into a mob of zombies just below the spawn room, I jumped ran, got to that first pillared area, [bleep]ing Tank right there waiting for me. So I just run like hell, get into the room with all the other pillars, where Witches just love to spawn... I'm just rushing, didn't hear the Witch, turned the corner, "Oh [bleep]."

 

 

 

I got the furthest, then the Witch went and disembowelled me.

Just checked with my local gamestore today, they said the PC version of Left 4 Dead will be on sale on the 17th and the Xbox version will be up 2-3 days after it. (Which is only like 4 days away)

Edit: Wow, I just became totally horrified after an experience today.

 

 

 

I was playing online with 3 other random guys and we were at the final area just before the safe room. The horde had just spawned and my 3 teamates were at the minigun fighting for their lives while I decided to make a headstart for the saferoom. When I went to the staircase I saw a Tank run up the stairs and I immediately froze in fear. Not knowing what to do next, I ran to the back of the staircase and hid in there as I yelled into my mic for help. All of a sudden the Tank came back to ground level and headed towards me, there I was targetted by a Tank with nowhere to go. I kept pressing the back button but I was against a wall as the Tank came closer to me.

Damn store guy lied to me, now I realized how dumb I was to believe that you could go out and buy a PC version of L4D.

Jesus christ. I just finished dling this, and it's really fun. I usually get stuck in the room with all the pillar on expert, because I usually find a boomer right around a corner,and then a tank or something. I only beat expert once, when my teamtes bailed halfway through, and I got to the last room with the AIs helping me, then just mad dashed under the door.

 

 

 

I really hate smokers though, because they can get you from so far away, and if your the last person standing, your helpless.

Heh, had some fun playing the demo with my friend. We got like eight hordes in a few minutes at the subway. It was awesome.

Never run from tanks that way.Go in a backwards run where you have already been.I once had a tank follow me to (nearly) back to the original train station.Gave me friends enough time to clear off the horde though.

We died alot, had a teamkilling guy (who was actually pretty nice, but killed me 6 times in like 1 or 2 hours of playing :wall: ) and a laggy guy so sometimes we quickly failed.

Yeah,you died relatively often.Personally,on single player got through the whole game on expert without falling.Well,my computer buddies did,but I didn't.Sad part is the Boomers seem to target me a lot,as opposed to the Smokers.

 

 

 

Also one time I was Tank bait :wall: .Hell when theres a horde at your back and a Tank at your front.

I thought it was really good, the witches are quite creepy but overall the game isn't too scary so I might get it. :)

Me and a few friends (playing this at school) just got raped by a witch and a tank that were in the same room. Some asshat accidentally shot the witch when we were trying to lure the tank into an open space. #-o

I personally think that witches are far less scary then tanks on expert.....almost always(in the demo) the witch spawns in a relatively open area, so what I do with my team is have one person bait it(preferably by just opening up on it with an autoshotty) And then everyone else follows suit from around it, she usually won't cause much of a problem if you hit right.

I think it's the perfect balance of silent, creeping suspense, mad [bleep]ing panic and strategy. Good fun to play.

 

 

 

I... don't see why you need to kill Witches that are out of the way of your team's path, do they freak out or something if you don't kill them? It's never happened to me, and we barely ever kill Witches. Though she seems to love spawning in the Generator room at the end of the Subways, which is raaaaaaaaaage. Though you can usually rape her with the Minigun there pretty easily.

 

 

 

Pre-ordered it last night, and now it's finished pre-loading, woo.

 

 

 

Anyone know if the AI Director is actually directly involved in the game, or is he just the shadowy figure controlling everything? It actually sounds kind of like some futuristic horror movie where the action is real and controlled by some computer to bring out the greatest level of immersion and whatever from the 'Actors'.

 

 

 

Then again, it could just all be a metaphor for something.
