Yeah, it actually is. I started an advanced campaign on The Parish, just me and the AI. It went well for awhile but I had to actually turn down the difficultly by the time I reached the finale. Soooo many zombies..

 

Damn chargers can actually insta-kill just like the smoker if they do it right. One charged me on the finale of the Parish as I was walking along side the bridge on the scaffolding, myself, the charger and Rochelle went for a little swim. Oh, and if anyone is wondering Infected AI > Survivor AI, gather up some friends if you can your going to need it. :thumbup:

I did expert on Dead Center. Managed to get to the 3rd part of the campaign (with my roomate and 2 pubs) before giving up. That map is absolute hell on expert, haha. The new special infected really amp up the difficulty.

 

 

I've been doing versus mode and scavanger the most though, they are a lot of fun. I can see scavange being real big because of how quick the matches go. Once there gets to be some more maps made for that mode (which I'm not sure if the SDK is available or not, I may give my hand at making some maps) it should be even better.

 

Versus is good as always but is an issue of having the other side leave if you do too well at the start.

L4D2 [bleep]ed up Steam, I re downloaded Steam, and then L4D2 wouldn't work. Now I have to download at 8GB game on 8KB/s speeds. I blame Telstra for this.

When I'm playing split-screen (in versus) with my friend sometimes the game will put me into spectating mode and there is no way to get out of it that I know of. So rather then playing, I have to sit back until we leave, round ends, or something to that effect.

 

Not to mention the Survivor AI, seriously... half the time Rochelle can't even pick up a damn med-kit, or will heal at ~70 life. I'll constantly get charged/smoked and will probably end up being incapped before someone even notices. Or they'll try meleeing Chargers..

 

AND THE LAG!!!11!!!11!

I absolutely cannot wait for Left 4 Dead 2 this Christmas.

Does anyone else like L4D1 more? I played through the entire L4D2 campaign and I did really like it. The melee weapons are fabulous and the new infected are pretty interesting and definitely change the game. But from playing it, I just see L4D1 impacting me more. I love new achievements to get and basically I love the core experience the game gives me: More Left 4 Dead, but in my opinion L4D1 is much more memorable and fun than L4D2. Maybe it's just because I miss the characters more.

 

I need to get L4D2 back again. I only rented it and that just gave me time to complete the campaign on Normal and play some Versus. I still have a ton of L4D1 achievements to get, though, and actually I like the L4D achievements a lot more than L4D2's achievements.

The only thing I think L4D2 has worse than the first is the absence of an achievement for killing thousands of zombies. It was really cool, because you could always watch your progress after every game.

I didn't really like how all the achievements were just for the new infected, pretty much. I would have liked to have some achievements similar to the ones in l4d.

l4d1 is so much easier, i played it last night with my friend since i can't afford l4d2, it's so much easier and simpler, and a little bit faster to get through also.

too bad nobody plays l4d1 anymore :/

i can't find a versus game to save my life

I got L4D2 last night. I really like the variety of weapons, levels, and infected. It's a pretty good game, but I do have to say that the first is still my favorite.

 

I didn't really like how all the achievements were just for the new infected, pretty much. I would have liked to have some achievements similar to the ones in l4d.

 

I'm kind of disappointed with the achievements too.

When I play the special infected ,as well as the survivors heads, turn invisible from time to time (it usually happens near water). Is there anything I could do to remedy this?

If you're on PC, try going to the Steam menu, right clicking it, go to properties, then to local files, and click "verify integrity of game cache."

 

Other than that, I have no idea.
