April 21, 201115 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua44rydoWrw&feature=player_embedded#at=191 With this, it seems like the Ortho view or whatever it was called would be very useful for dungeoneering. Is it actually possible? What would be cool is if Drakan and his minions kill all the sig heroes in the quest except Raptor who is wrecking. You and him team up and cave in some vampyre heads. He becomes a total bro in future quests and in a GM quest he receives a fatal injury and his last dying words to you are "Brofist, mang"[/hide]
April 21, 201115 yr When I get home from school I'm totally testing this. Wow. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

April 21, 201115 yr @flare, it is done by modifying your user rights within the client (Don't try it). You can only do client side commands, anything server sided(teleports or banning/muting players via the console) will not work and flag your account. April 21, 201115 yr Author Was never really thinking of doing it, just wondered how it was done really. Thanks for the warning though, never know who is gunna try this stuff. April 21, 201115 yr after some quick screwing around and messing with view modes / zooms, it seems draw distance is the main issue in regular display mode. Ortho you can see more, but it's fairly limited in how you can move the camera around, and really doesn't work that well. This is a screeny showing what can be done, but trying to move the camera around to see specific things you get random fog at times, it's kind of annoying. Don't get to excited about it, basically. Anyway, back to playing normally. :)
April 21, 201115 yr Yeah it's possible but I can't say it's safe or rule abiding..[spoiler=image]had some fun with it though :???:
April 21, 201115 yr Try giving a square root number (w/e it's called) for the orthotilesize parameter (like 4*4=16, 8*8=64, etc), then walk to a new area. Would be awesome discovering whether it increases the draw distance.

April 21, 201115 yr Looks cool. Wouldn't there be a way to make the render distance longer? Thought the zooming was cool regardless. :P ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::.........
April 21, 201115 yr Game looks.. so much better with a larger view distance. Someone post a pic with a large view distance and high detail Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
April 21, 201115 yr Doesn't only look good, it reminds me of some old RPGs and MMORPGs, especially with the isometric look for the dungeon floor screenshot. I'd love to be able to play with these perspectives. Prepare to Die! Path of Exile RPG "Think where man's glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends." Yeats
April 21, 201115 yr This looks awesome. Is it against the rules? And if so, how is it detected/punished?
April 21, 201115 yr Would it also be possible to generate a first person, or "over the shoulder" view? This would make runescape much more fun as you actually feel like you ARE the character, instead of a diety giving commands from high up there to your character. (Also the 0.6 second reaction time doesn't help you getting a feeling you ARE the character, instead a person giving instructions towards your avatar). First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me.
April 21, 201115 yr Isometric looks pretty horrible, is there a way to keep the perspective while also zooming out?And yes, I'm aware it will make things far away even smaller :s RuneScape Revolution (Dutch)
April 21, 201115 yr If it is possible to get a first person view, we could get wasd movement via hotkeys!!! Castle of Zoltar
April 21, 201115 yr Oh wow, wonder how it's done :-# Doubt it'd be that easy, looks pretty legit though. And yeah, the ortho view thing could be pretty useful :D
