Perhaps Jagex saw it coming too.

 

But now Jagex has made a rather emphatic public statement about not wanting this sort of behavior in the game, and modified the game to prevent said behavior.

 

So lets say people just switch to flowers / skullballs / etc.

 

But now Jagex has set a precedent about games of chance and might actually be emboldened to wield the banhammer or take away GP in the future.

Can't stop betting, there will always be alternatives. I wonder how much content Jagex is willing to remove to stop dicing, or they could just stop appeasing idiots who don't understand the concept of chance.

Completely wrong. People have been tricked again and again into duels they think they can win. Never seen a low level pure win a duel against a higher level opponent because he was greedy and gullible?

Anyone can host and build reputation. Granted they start slow and earn less, but there are ways to be competitive without being "already rich" or buying a rank.

AFAIK you could only stake very small amounts in F2P. I wasn't including F2P in what I said.

So we can stake... But they can't add an option to dice where the host has to pay out because we shouldn't gamble. Awesome logic Jagex. Pure genius on your part.

 

However, my point wasn't about the scamming as much as the gambling. Anyone who gives a massive amount (Compared to their own bank) to some "trusted" dicer is an idiot hands down.

 

Jagex specifically mentioned a reason it being removed was because of the gamble:

What do we mean by “bad use” of dice items? Well, gambling for GP was never the intention of the dice. There is no support for PvP gambling within RuneScape and we do not intent to add any. Gambling is a risky pastime and nobody should ever rely on gambling to make money.

I'm sure part of the "overwhelming feedback" on the forums was just kids who couldn't stop and who got cleaned [bleep]ing on the forums about how bad and evil dicing is. It's like somebody losing his savings at a Casino and then going on a quest to have Casinos shut down because they're bad evil scams!

As a rank in Mew2, I will say that we are already back in business. We have a new game to compete with Liked, Win All Day, theMilk, etc.

 

Ours is BBG x2. It is Blue, Black, Green = 2x payout. Other colors are loss for bettor. Almost the same as 60x2.

 

I know all the stuff about scammers, but we push for bettors to bet only on Ranks because no rank in Mew2 has ever scammed and all ranks are insured up to 2B.

 

Not advertising, just saying that there are legit clans out there and you shouldn't automatically get labeled "Scammer" for being a Dicer Skullballer.

We use Skullball on Colours. There are 8 colors so it is 3/8 which is 62.5x2. Best we could come up with on short notice. but it is taking off.

Oh so if they hit any of those three colors they win. Smart solution to the dicing being removed. Puts the odds more in your favor than dicing.

First bots get broken, now they remove dicing? Kudos to Jagex for stepping it up.
