They said they've read every page of this thread. I say hi.

If this is the case, can I just say (To any Jmods reading this) that I welcome our new Cambridge overlords and would be more than willing to sell whatever information you need for your world domination plots. O:)

i'd also like to note that i'm going to start calling it "beeta" from now on

What about "jewel" wielding?

I'd love to wield jewels!!!

On topic, I listened to the live stream finally. It was pretty interesting, a few highlights -

* mod mark doesn't know how to answer the question, he just kept changing it to something else...

* The other two developers seemed very knowledgeable and definitely working on making the system good.

* bind system will be re-done

* still tweaking beta, and will continue until it's right.

* completely lack the understanding of how much you have to click at high-end content already -- I already have to control steel titan/yak, possibly cannon, potions, and now abilities, which take a LOT of focus. The ability rate needs to be toned down a little so that there is a little more reaction time between each ability. It really didn't get answered by "people controlling abilities will do more damage!" That isn't a good enough answer. My problem is that I can't focus on the abilities properly

* Definitely they have a lot of solid ideas

* no beans spilled on rs3 :c

* a few beans spilled about possible content like lvl-up weapons, and skill related abilities and plans to increase high end content because now they have the ability to add these more high level ideas back

I still feel like they don't understand what we want out of momentum, definitely a good direction for AFK, but it isn't quite powerful enough..

They REALLY need to be more streamlined and on top of releasing update news. More beta patch notes, and more overall contact to us would be nice.

Off Topic:, Hi, Mod Pi :) Keep reading the threads!

I definitely like the bit of time between abilities, but that would probably throw a wrench into a lot of their tweaking. I would actually not mind a slight twitch response type play in the game, but not like prayer switch or flashing. Going through abilities is great and preparing for different fights make abilities more interesting. I wouldn't like seeing something like ability, auto attack, ability because that would be dull.

Hello boys! Aren't ALL of YOU looking so wonderful today!

May I just say what a wonderful job you're all doing, and I'd like to take back ALL those terrible things I've been saying about you all this time, ok? HONESTLY! I am. Really sorry. I am sorry. I really am. I am so ****ing sorry!!!

Now, can you please re-set the "luck switch" for "Blyaunte", so that I can FINALLY start getting decent drops and better stuff from SOF?!?!?

So I guess the 1 defense pure is no longer going to be worth it for PKing. So I take it the Rune Pure will be the main choice for PKing with? Also, I am curious as to how box staking will end up. I know you can play without abilities on, but it would be fun to box with abilities.

Sorry, I always got the impression people did box staking because it took out all the variables and (between maxed players) became essentially a very slow coin toss?

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

I don't want auto, ability, auto, ability either, I would just like a tad (5-10%) more time between ability clicking either through letting us queue or at least making the interfaces for cooldowns cleaner.

Wow -- do people even "PK" anymore? I mean other than green dragon bots.

Any time I go into the Wildy, the only "players" I see there are fellow clan mates (chasing a star with me) and bots. I never see "pures" out there, at least not by the definition that used to define one, in any event ...

Rune pures have ALWAYS been supreme.

People PK in specific worlds, I'd guess you weren't on one of them whenever you went to the wildy.

Wonder why they don't just give everyone the beta outfit just for logging into the beta instead of pretending it's some big exclusive reward.

because the whole point of it is to try and get feedback, at least by any numbers they collect from you doing the events, if not from posts on forums...

Except I'm not talking about them giving people an incentive to beta test, I'm talking about how they passed it off like it was going to be at least somewhat exclusive to people who could get on for the 4 weekends. Jagex isn't stupid, they knew people go on holiday over the summer, and yet they enforce the unforgiving requirement of you being at your computer at least once every weekend for a month. Then, when people complain, they swoop in and save the day by promising an untold number of "make-up" events which begs the question "why not just give it to everyone who participates in the beta from the beginning?". Ok, because they want people to have an incentive to try the beta, fair enough. On the other hand, we have free Torva which does this job nicely and which I'd argue brings in more players than a cosmetic item set that now has value almost equal to that of an item given to anyone who merely logs in.

How do you get people to keep coming back every few weeks? How do you get them to try other areas of the game? Most people are content to play with their torva and chaotics in the wilderness, but that gets old after a while, and you can't really expect players from every style to log in to play a game like pest control.

That's very true, and I realize that my original post came off as saying "why even bother having a beta outfit" which wasn't my intention. The point I meant to make is that "why are they turning it into another throwaway holiday item".

Because unlike you most people LIKE holiday items as a way to show off that they were there at the time, the only reason people bother with half the holiday items isn't cause they look good or do awesome things it's because down the line you show off that you were there by getting them out.

If everyone had the beta outfit just for logging in it'd be like ok cool you spent 5 seconds in the beta, with the events its like yes you actually took part and spent some time and effort in the beta.

I think he meant to ask why they were effectively turning the beta outfit into a holiday item (i.e. put in effort at event to get item reward), as opposed to something more exclusive, which is originally how they described it.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
