According to this document researched by Pliigi at Stellar Dawn Central the UK is seeking to strike off Jagex from the companies register for failing to file their financial returns on time. The deadline should have been September.

It's unlikely. What's more likely is that the company directors will get fined. If they were struck off then they couldn't trade in the UK I believe.

This won't happen. It's very rare that a company gets "struck off" in this way. A nice big fine will be coming their way though!

Seeing as the UK is very proud of their "own" gaming company, I doubt there will be heavy consequences for Jagex. :s

Just because they submit late doesn't change the dates on the records unless they are committing fraud. The info submitted won't contain anything for gold packages as they are a couple of months too late.

I totally forgot about Pliigi/SDCentral until now. Is Stellar Dawn still going to be a thing? (I see their website is still up with "coming soon").

 

EDIT: Wow, their Jagex forum is really interesting, a lot of stuff I didn't know about. What's with all of the domain purchases O_o e.g. they purchased 121212.com most likely for the AoS release, yet never actually used it... and now the domain is pretty worthless.

They won't get struck off, unless they persistently refuse to disclose their financial statements, but it's not a good idea. Investors and creditors are not able to view how worthy the company is of credit until that disclosure has been sent, because they can't assess how much liability shareholders have. New investment into the business is vital. Financial statements of limited companies are public documents by the way, so that disclosure should be available once it's been processed.

 

It doesn't really reflect at all on how good, or bad, RuneScape is selling as a product. The only thing that would reflect that would be the financial statements themselves.

Honestly, Jagex would have been better off if they focused on retaining the rs population instead of trying to start other things, all of them which have failed: mechscape->stellar dawn, 8realms, a US crackpot studio that has made 1 fb book with less likes than my grandma, a transformers games that still haven't shown a single gameplay trailer...Oh and does ayone remember funorb?

To be fair, I thought their Transformers Universe game did have a gameplay trailer out now? Either way it is in closed beta. Just pointing that out -- I agree with you in general. :P
