So with a terracotta merchant you'd expect 8 trade goods per mission? That's pretty nice. 50 and 75 terracotta is absolutely horrible though, steel starts at 140 :o.

Remember, you always round down. I'm expecting it to be from 6 to 7 with 33.33% boost. Logically the merchant should have had a 35% boost but i'm guessing jagex finally understood how overpowered they already were, thus they made it up with better stats(start at 650 vs. 300 for jade).

And yeah, this is very surprising. The 3rd tier is 275 ´cotta. Doesn't make much sense. Also the crew cost is super high unlike regions before the pincers(which was supposed to be endgame).

Ah, I was assuming that 33.33 would be recurring, lol. Well, I guess the stats mean that morale missions are now easier than ever. Merchants may be very powerful, but I think that's hardly a bad thing, as it was taken into account in the balancing already. There'd be nothing wrong with 35% merchants, as 33.33 is not really an improvement.

I'd guess the shield merchants will be 35%

The recurring doesn't really make a difference either no? Each decimal place 3 would just add an equivalent decimal place 9 to the result, whilst each decimal place would bring it closer to 8 it'd never actually be 8 without rounding.

I'd guess that the shield will be "endgame" like the pincers, thus no speciality crew. But we'll see, so far, 10 of the 12 supposed new crewmembers have been confirmed(counting 3 normal and one unlocked from shield).

Well most regions had a merchant, jsut a couple randomly didn't (the skull and the pincers)

So it could easily be 3 normal + 1 unlock + 1 merch per region

Leaving 1 extra per region for those 'wildcard' types (eg solidarity or maybe a mix-crew)

And would fit with the already seen loop crew

Got a wildcard all typer, an unlock, 3 basic and a merchant.

Though lol that apparently the reef rider all stats type has worse stats than oxhead and the same stats as judge of dice...because that is helpful.

Reef rider is more of a speed crew. Just jagex understood that there is no difference between speed crew with 1k or 2k or even 3k speed and thus compensated for it with other stats. And yeah, they are largely useless.

They put speed in the worst kind of crew to put it on... Generally if you are going on a multistat voyage, you'll throw a JoD or similar onto him, but Solidarity also gives speed, which decreases the benefit of additional speed increases.

Speed on a Multistat crew is bad design

You know that .999999... recurring is equal to 1, right?

In other words, how much is 6 * 4 / 3? It's 8, isn't it?

Reefriders are a pretty big letdown, they should at least have given them something cool like +5% in all stats or something (not stacking) or Solidarity or even just 1200 combat or so.

Only if it recurs infinitely, which I doubt is what the merchant's % is. (IE it may very well be that his % is 33.33%, not 33.333....%).

The 0.99999 = 1 thing is a rule we use, but alas it is not one machines generally conform too (at least not without being specifically told to round it).

We essentially auto-round it simply because our decimal maths for 3rds has a flaw in that the sum of the 3 isn't quite 1 and so we ignore it and round it without being asked too.

But a machine doing a summ would happily output 0.999999... until told to round it and in the case of runescape ports it is told to always round down so it'd change that 0.9999.... to 0 just the same as it changes 0.6, 0.7 0.8 and 0.9 to 0 despite what our general rules of rounding are.

Plus of course the factor that it won't genuinely be 0.3333 recurring to infinity, given that it has to be physically inputted somewhere it will have a finite number of decimal places so the rule wouldn't apply.

...or you could program it as 4/3, as normal people do, as the old full slayer helmet probably had (well, that had 7/6)...

Anyway, no information yet on the crew unlocked from the Light under the Sea, although it's rumoured to be a Wisp. Pretty cool, if it's useful.

But more importantly...is there a new tier of Captain?!

I think only one or two people unlocked the Loop before reset and all the others are way too smart to use any captain rerolls. I'm guessing there will be 30k captains but from what we know about 10k captains, they'll be super rare.

It turns out the low resources from voyages are a constant for the loop. Even the adventurer voyages, which give 700 steel in the pincers only give 275 'cotta in the loop. Also- the new merchant is 33% exactly, so i think we can put that stupid conversation from before to rest. Don't exactly know about distances yet(as they seem not to be standard) but the shield is atleast 1.5m away.

It shouldn't be too much of an issue considering we'll be spending at least a month in the loop, and with no buildings to upgrade, we'd run out of things to spend terracotta on quickly.

I finnaly managed to do a standard mission(6 chi at 25600 morale) and gained 9.9k disnatce, hence the standard distance is 6.6k, however even the lowest mission(50 'cotta) is worth 4760 distance. Still not 100% sure on the final distance, though, however it is not 1.5m as many have claimed. All i can confirm is that it's under 2m.

So should I assume the reason everyone seems to be fretting over scrolls is because the reqs will get even higher in the next areas?

~200k off 90 Hunter -.-

It seems I've already finished the Architect's storyline, but not quite the Cook's. Was it ever confirmed what the trio would give?
